way too much head – Bought one as the dispenser came free, I do know how to pour beer but this is like European beer, half beer half head. I have managed to get a reasonable glass after the third glass and have experimented with different shaped glasses, all cold from the freezer but still too much head. The beer tastes good but just way too much effort especially for the cost.

Worked ok for a while – I was given Tap King for a present and it worked great for around 8 months. The first and last beers out of the unit were gassy but all the rest poured fine. 150 Lashes is an excellent brew and tastes just like a tap beer. The last bottle I bought poured one beer and then stopped, leaving me with a bottle full of beer I am unable to serve. I… Read more

enquired at the bottle shop where I bought the last refill and they asked me if the problem was with the dispenser or the bottle? How would I know! I logged onto the manufacturers web site 2 months ago to ask for advice and have had no response. What am I supposed to do? Buy both another dispenser and another bottle to find out which is faulty? I dont think so. Fair product. Rubbish follow up service. Advise against buying. No customer service available at all.

Great if you know how to pour a beer – I'm not sure if these reviews are just from people trying this out once and giving up, but I found it quite easy to use. The first and last beer you pour from a keg can be a little foamy, other than that the rest are good. Follow the instructions regarding chilling the keg plenty beforehand and tilt your glass a little while you're pouring the… Read more

beer. You shouldn't have any issues with beers being too heady. I'm not sure if different beers work better in it or not, but my experience with One Fifty Lashes and Boag's Premium have been great.

If you're the kind of person who normally buys beers by the case, then this probably isn't for you, as you'll end up spending more. But if you would normally by a six pack at a time, you'll get more for your money here. Some people are expecting 10 schooners, but Tap King don't claim that. You get 10 x 320ml beers. You can't get 10 schooners from a 3.2L bottle.

Fits in the fridge well although it might be a little deep for small fridges. It's not perfect, but I've been using it for around three months and plan on continuing to do so.

Utter waste of time – Each keg has resulted in foamy beers despite trying all suggested methods of pouring /cooling. Contacted Lion Nathan and was basically told they all do this!!! Beer is expensive so in the bin goes this gimmick.

Poor value for the money – The beer is mostly head and that's only if the Tap King actually works, the last keg I purchased was dead flat and undrinkable. On the side of the keg it mentions 10 x 320ml beers, what sort of measurement is 320ml? a standard stubbie or can is 375ml or 330ml. Very poor value for the money at around $20 for 3.2 litres, I'll be sticking with stubbies or cans. There's 9 litres of beer in a slab of VB.

Waste of money – All froth and very little beer. Expect about 5/6 scooners out of the bottle. The 10 advertised is a lie. Also very frothy so not even fun or easy to use. I think Tap King is going the way of the Dodo, as I really cannot imagine to many people will buy a second bottle after trying it once.

Only got one of beer out of the keg!!!!! – Bought the 2 kegs with the intention of having everyone around for a bbq and managed to setup the unit but only managed to get one beer out of it. Now I have a full keg and no way of getting anymore beer. Still doesn't work. Very disappointing.

OK but not great – Found to be very heady, but put itin the frezzer will reduce this. The beer tase is very good but I am not happy on how it pours and price should be reduced because no glass no box.

Fantastic – Just tapped my 3rd James Squire bottle and it's a ripper. It doesn't taste like bottled beer and nor should it - it tastes just like James Squire on tap. Less fizz, good head great draught taste. It's everything I love about tap beer over bottles. I'll only be buying bottles as take aways now.

Tap or hit it with a sledge hammer – Im most disapooiinted with what I thought was a good idea very expensive and it only sometimes works. I complained to the sellers and they refunded me with a replacement Tap King Dispenser I used this once first time OK the 2nd and now third time the full unused beer is still trapped in the dispenser.I dont want it any more.an idea that did not… Read more

Better with home brew – Got one of these as a gift, luckily they put the chancer in these bottes because everything else they do is rubbish. I found the gas bulbs that they put in them and was able to pull apart the assembly in the top of the bottle so I can refill and regas. Currently dispensing an IPA.

Foam, foam, foam – I got this product for fathers day and was rapt with 2 Chancer Golden Ale kegs! Unfortunately even though i have followed the instructions (2nd keg was in cold fridge for 2 weeks!), I get practically all foam! Cold glass makes no difference. Will go into the back of the cupboard! Waste of money

tap king = rubbish – What an absolute waste of money worst possible way of drinking beer. Followed the instructions got half the amount of recommended beers out of one of them and it tasted nothing like real draught beer from the pub and the second one poured nothing but foam, if fosters made a mid srength beer 375ml in qld that I liked I'd switch thats how annoyed I… Read more

Pretty good – I was skeptical after reading the reviews here but decided to splurge anyway. The first glass was foam but all others have been outstanding. As others have mentioned, reading/watching and following the instructions that are available made it work perfectly. I dropped the fridge temp down to 2 Deg and I used clean cold glasses for the first few… Read more ·  1

pours but after that it didn't matter.

I would almost go as far to say that there was not enough head in the glass in subsequent pours but that leaves more room for beer!

So far I only tried the XXXX Gold but might have a go at the others, since I'm impressed with it now.

My tip would be grab the 'kegs' from the cold room so you don't have to wait the 9 hours as directed. Compact, convenient size.

heap of rubbish – HI my son in law gave me one as a gift I went by all the instuctions first bottle I thought may be that IT was done wrong lost all the gas before the beer had gone tipped it down the sink the next one was ok no problems . the I went down the local and got two more my sink is getting all my beer the last bottle I got three glasses of beer I do… Read more

think the firm that produced this product should not sell any more and refund the funds back

when you tip most of your beer down the sink its more cost wise to buy by the carton

I like it! – After reading some advice on the net, I followed the instructions and achieved some good results. (You must ensure that the keg is chilled for the required time). I found the beer had quite a fresh taste and there was a great deal of satisfaction, on my part, in pouring a beer at home! I did find that it took a couple of tries to find the "sweet… Read more

spot" with the pour. While the TK is not the same as having a beer at your local, in my opinion, it is the next best thing. I will try this again. Fresh taste. Satisfaction of pouring my own beer. Can take a couple of goes to master pouring.

Don't waste your $ on this gimmick – Absolute rubbish and a waste of money. Followed the instructions to a T and got very poor results. Carbonation is all wrong. Way too foamy but worse still... is almost artificial and a very stable foam, like a surfactant has been added. Regardless of the head, the beer tastes flat, lifeless and different to the Extra Dry I'm used to. It lacks… Read more

all the crispness and freshness of 345ml bottles.

I started getting a headache after 2 small glasses. What's in this [censored word removed]? Can normally drink 6-8 bottles with little effect and never a headache. Reminds me of the days when VB's recipe was changed.

The cost of the setup is equivalent to 2 cases of your favourite brew and your getting the equivalent of 18.5 / 345ml bottles.

Save your money because I guarantee you'll only use this gimmick once.

One big con.
