Expensive and non reliant service – Expensive and non reliant service. The App stops working and no one bothers to resolve the issue. I end up paying high call charges even after paying the monthly plan charge. Unreliable. Response to emails are slow and not helpful.
Telink Expensive and appalling lack of customer service and tech support – Telink are an unprofessional and unsophisticated company who are also presenting themselves as Inmate Calls Aust. You do not get all the minutes you pay for, they do not respond to tech issues and problems in timely manner, and the one person they have dealign with queries hangs up on you when they cannot resolve the issue. Under Telink I signed up for the package for 660 minutes for $50 but when I checked my spend on their very basic site, I often was out of talk time without having used up the full 660 minutes. When I phoned to query they hung up on me after speaking to me in a very rude and offensive manner.
I will be reporting Telink to the authorities.
Not perfect but so worth it! – Difficult to change plan, language a bit of a barrier. However instead of costing $7 per 10 minute phone call from prison which meant my friend with no relatives in Australia and no friends - dropped out on their arrest - was very isolated and needed help with liaising for legal aid, medical care, etc. I was paying for the $7 calls depositing money into friend's prison account. Through Telink they paid approx. .47cents/10 minute call, I paid .27cents/day for the connection and $1.00/call. Great service in time of great need relative to alternative.
Telink untrustworthy – Applied for 2 engine numbers and informed them what prison it was for, they told me the charge was $1 a week, yet sent invoice stating $2 a week, advised of the error they confirmed it was $1. After a while of not having numbers set up I called the prison asking why and they replied they don’t accept them. Informed Telink of this and requested a refund and they wanted $10 each account for admin, I said you can take $5 as this is your fault. I’m still waiting for refund so called them and they said they will process it but take out $2 a week as well as the $5 and I said no, Asain guy kept over talking and not listening. I’ve lodged a complaint with the ombudsman and recommend you don’t use this untrustworthy company
