I bought a new Stacer Searunner from Sunstate Marine. Within 24 hours it was taking on a significant amount of water. Inspection revealed a cracked keel weld and multiple poorly executed welds along the gunnels that were painted over. This “new and inspected” boat clearly failed to meet basic quality and safety standards before it ever reached me.… Read more
The boat was returned immediately. Dealer staff initially acknowledged the condition was unacceptable. Telwater later confirmed the defects were manufacturing-related and that the boat should never have left the factory in that condition.
Despite this, I spent a month being ignored by Sunstate management, redirected, and told I had “no rights” other than to accept a repair. Emails were routinely ignored or claimed to be “not received,” and everything was handled through poor verbal communication despite repeated requests for written responses.
I paid 60k for a new boat and ended up with a patched hull and poor paint repairs. This experience has been exhausting, stressful, and completely unacceptable. Inspect everything thoroughly before handing over your money and be cautious if you value accountability and clear communication.
Nice design, terrible build quality – I bought 5.5m Freestyler in 2020. The hull design is superb, the ride is smooth and stable and great in the turns. My gripes are appaling paint work (already bubbling up) and worse, almost non-existant attempt to isolate steel parts/fixings from the aluminium hull resulting is disastrous corrosion/paint bubbling within 18 months (conveniently out… Read more
of warranty!). It would have cost virtually nothing to have added non-metallic washers and TefGel during assembly - massive fail Quintrex, inexcusable incompetence! Lastly, I'd like to have had the option for stainless steel anchor bow roller sprit, within a week all the paint has chipped, looks a right mess and getting worse every day! PS: suggest removing all seat backs, rod holders, hinges etc and add the missing washers and TefGel to avoid disappointment!
Great Warranty service – 2023 Stacer 499 Crossfire. The hydraulic steering leaked inside console from first use. The boat is moored on a floating boat dock and within 5 months the floor became very soft and spongy. I took the boat to my local dealer (not where purchased). The dealer was truly interested in the problems and started a warranty claim that morning. That… Read more
afternoon Telwater had contacted me and I towed the boat up to them. The guys there were very helpful and agreed to replace the helm and the complete floor. The warranty claim was logged on the Monday and by the Friday my boat was ready to pick up. Although I was disappointed that the boat (which I paid quite a bit of money for) had these faults I was extremely satisfied at the warranty service and the speed at which it completed.
Pathetic and illegal action by Quintrex – Pathetic customer service. I bought my Quintrex 435 Coast Runner brand new from in 2006. The compliance "sticker" has deteriorated and worn off. Quintrex refuse to provde another. This is their generic off the shelf product and the refusal to provide this safety information is illegal. I will instigate the necessary legal action. Show details
Imperfect – Recently purchased a 2023 Stacer 449 Crossfire. Attention to detail and quality control lacking. Reported to manufacturer. No reply Bow roller misaligned Drill swarf in bilge Loose screws holding dash safety rail Steerling wheel 90 degrees out Lowrance sounder not connected inside dash. Not suited to 75hp motors. Too much weight on transom. Show details
Warranty department – I would like to thank the warranty team for the repairs done to my 650 trident. I found these people were not only very approachable but also easy to deal with. To all owners I would highly recommend that if you have an issue to talk to this team of people but remember they treat each case individually. Show details
Great customer service follow up – Following a poor start (refer my Google Review online) , Quintrex have excelled themselves with great customer service. The motor on my MY17 Quintrex 530 Sea Spirit was playing up, and I emailed them. Took an hour on line to find the appropriate email address to send this to though, as they dont have a "sales, warranty, complaints or suggestions"… Read more
facility on their website. No points for that. Sent the email the night prior, and at 8.32am Brad from their customer service team called me. He was very polite and helpful, with some great suggestions clearly based on lots of experience. A hell of a lot better experience this time, compared to when I bought the boat new. Think a light has come on. Nice work, and thanks to Brad at Telwater. Tony
