I have had since 2009 – I bought 32 inch Plasma Vivid TV in January 2009 from Aldi / Brisbane. I am still using it. I never had any issues. It is a good TV with clear picture. It is almost 10 years it is still good. I am the lucky one :) Thank you Aldi.  Show details

Aldi "no thankyou" – Yes I purchased a 32” vivid as well, it died just out of warranty, had power supply replaced, all good, then in about the same time span it died again, put it aside to throw out, then in about 9 months as I was preparing to dispose of it I decided to test it again, you wouldn’t know it worked fine for about 6 months than started flashing on and… Read more

off again. I found this process works every time, the longer it’s unplugged the longer it works. Has anyone checkout the firmware for a termination time. That type of code has been found in other digital products it makes me wonder?

Tried to get a replacement but told warranty expired.

Great TV for 3 years only! – Purchased this TV approx. 3 years ago from Aldi for our bedroom!..no complaints with it until just recently. When turning it on it momentarily comes on then goes off with a 'no signal' , turn it off and on a a few times and it eventually stays on and is fine. Sometimes it will not start unless we turn it off at wall, this problem is slowly getting… Read more

worse. We made inquiry about having it repaired thought recommended authorised repair man and it was going to cost $75 to have it looked at, it was suggested that we would be better off purchasing a new set as the cost of repair would not be worthwhile.

Very unreliable – Only 15 month old, went blank suddenly with no power. Just waisted $250. TV should last already at least 5 years.

What a piece of junk – We have two 32" TVs with built in DVD players and have both stuffed up just outside the two year mark. What did they do?Gave us a list of repairers that we would have to pay for ourselves. We also have two 50" TVs in the house that we purchased just over a year ago,now just waiting for them to go. Do not buy their rubbish! One TV the DVD player sometimes works mosltly doesnt. The other doesnt turn on and when it does turns off within minutes.

TV Lasted only 14 Months – Was very pleased with the purchase, good picture, good sound. Just after warranty ran out 14 months after buying the TV it started being difficult to turn on. The only way could do it was turn it off at the power point, wait for a minute then turn the power point back on and then try to turn the TV on. Sometimes this worked and sometimes it… Read more

didn't. Once it took me 25 minutes to get it to turn on. Talk about frustrating. Now it's impossible to use and won't turn on at all. Typical 2 months after the warranty expires it blows up. Had to go back using the small 14 inch CRT screen TV that's 28 years old but still going strong - lucky didn't throw it out after bought the Aldi. Got a quote to fix the Aldi and it was 80% of the original purchase price - not worth it. Typical now gone back to using our old TV that's 28 years old and the new Aldi LCD TV lasted 14 months. Why doesn't anything new last anymore - Oh that's why because it's MADE IN CHINA. Good Picture and Good Sound Lasted only 14 months, had to throw out

This is certainly going to fair trading if aldi doesnt do something fast! do they expect people to sit in the dark waiting for nothing?? Non existant customer service

Don't buy – Was good for about a year, and now just keeps cutting in and out. We left it for a few months and it worked for a while now is doing it again. Cuts in and out. It also scratched easily and collects dust like shot sticks to a blanket. The remote is rubbish, only works when in real direct view and sometimes to have to press really hard. Overall absolute rubbish. Cuts in and out and has a bad remote

Still going strong – We bought one of these shortly after my daughter was born (They were $499 back then!) She is 4 now and the TV hasn't missed a beat. We have moved house with it about 4 times now and it has scratch marks all over it from my little girl, but it's a tough TV and we love it.  Show 3 replies

Stopped working at 12 months!! – Worked greated for first 12 months. However just after the warranty had ran out the picture now turns off after about 20 seconds and the message "No Signal" flashes about the screen. 3 days away from Christmas!! Thanks Aldi - not! Started gradually a week ago and now doesnt work at all. Throughout the year a red line appeared across the screen… Read more

also and never went away. I lived with this but in hindsight should have exchanged it then whilst under warranty. ] Stopped working just at the end of warranty!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheap and oh so Nasty – Bought the Vivid from Aldi as a second TV and it was great for 13 months. Has a PVR function which we used a bit to record shows and watch photos, play music. After the warranty was convieniently over the TV started flashing on and off and saying "no Signal" about 20seconds after you turn it on, and after a few minutes it would work OK. This… Read more

progressively got worse until it never worked OK. Took it to get fixed and it was a power supply problem & would cost $198 to repair - hardly worth it. It was cheap!, PVR function sound quality, only lasted 13 months!

No support from Tempo for faulty ALDI TV product – Do not buy this TV. We bought 3 of these for us and 2 relatives from ALDI and within 1 month, one of them began flashing on and off all the time. It appears to be a software problem as it coincided with the use of a USB drive. Reusing the drive fixed the problem for a day or two but then the problem recurred. ALDI replaced the first one (we… Read more

bought a Bauhn for a bit extra). But then, just after warranty, one we hardly used started doing the same thing. Factory reset doesn't work. Turning on and off doesn't work. Putting in different USB stick with different file systems doesn't work Neither ALDI nor Tempo have a firmware update for this TV, nor even the original firmware. Essentially they said "take it to a TV repairman" (i.e. at least $100), who says that he doesn't have any firmware information for the TV, so if there's nothing physically wrong (there won't be) he can't help. But he will charge for having a look to see if there's anything physically wrong with it. The TV is now useless, unsupported by the manufacturer, distributor or the retailer and will now be used as landfill less than 2 years after purchase brand new. The 3rd one will never have a USB stick put in it, so hopefully it will keep working. So out of 3, 2 are gone and one (hardly used and never used for PVR function or USB payback function) is still working after less than 2 years. Very cheap price for the quality of the picture After sales support is non-existent. Do not use the PVR function! it may turn your TV into landfill!

OK – Well, for the price, this isn't bad. It is handy that it has a built in DVD that functions well, and the PVR function (via USB) is another great feature. You can also use the USB to view photos, listen to music, etc. I find the remote isn't intuitive, and some buttons have different functions depending where you are, but aren't labelled that… Read more

way, so you often find a new function by accident!

The sound on the TV is good, but I am still tweaking the picture as the colour and clarity seems a little off. ie Colours too bright, and pictures a bit fuzzy. We've only had it up and running less than a day, so there is every likelihood that I've got a setting wrong!

Overall, we decided that it was a great TV for the kids, because if they are going to wear a TV out or break it - its cheap enough that you won't worry about it! (Also means that when 3D comes in, we'll have no hesitation replacing this with a new one.) Great Price- at $399 it makes a cheap kids TV.

PVR function handy for recording TV shows.

Built in DVD easy for kids to use.

Looks good. Picture resolution not as good as the 'brand name' tvs.

PVR of TV programmes seems to only work if TV is off or you are actually watching the programme.

Cannot customise the names of Inputs to make it easier for kids to recognise - eg you can't change HDMI1 to Xbox.

The remote isn't entirely intuitive, so the manual is necessary for a while.

Great tv but how do you eject the dvd without having to turn the tv off then on again. The remote is a bit confusing
