You can sign up with a click of a button but have to call to cancel the subscription and listen to the customer service agent trying to talk you into not cancelling.

Very inconvenient to cancel subscriptions, you’ve got to call up in business hours. I would not recommended. 1 star for The phone attendant during cancelation as she was nice and understanding.

They don't accept Paypal despite advertising it – I tried to sign up via PayPal, and despite them having it on their site, it kept having programming errors (bugs). Only a programmer/developer can fix it. See photos below, showing their bug. I logged out and retried many times on many days. Same problem. So, I emailed them. But instead of helping, they refused to do anything about it. They… Read more

So I just let my subscription expire!

I guess they don't need my money!

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THIS. They make it extremely difficult to unsubscribe- you cannot do it online, you can only do it by calling customer support, which is only available Monday to Friday, making it an extra task you have to add to your work week

The Daily Telegraph - A Dangerous Mouthpiece for Misinformation. The Daily Telegraph behaves like gum stuck to your shoe: stubborn, irritating, and hard to get rid of. They deliberately make it difficult to unsubscribe, offering no simple online option. Instead, you are forced to call them directly, where they proceed to ask intrusive, irrelevant… Read more

questions. Even after that, they continue to flood your inbox with spam – relentless streams of right-wing, uneducated nonsense.

This is not accidental. The Daily Telegraph is part of Rupert Murdoch’s global media empire, which thrives by manipulating and frightening the less informed. Murdoch’s model is clear: weaponise misinformation to profit from fear and division. We can already see the devastating results in the United States, where Murdoch’s Fox News has played a major role in pushing the country toward political extremism and near civil war.

In Australia, The Daily Telegraph follows the same blueprint. Its purpose is not to inform or educate, but to keep Australians misinformed and divided, reinforcing ignorance through sensationalism and political bias. It deliberately preys on vulnerable audiences, undermining critical thinking and eroding the foundations of an informed, healthy democracy.

This so-called "news" outlet is not just bad journalism; it is dangerous. Australians must recognize The Daily Telegraph and similar Murdoch outlets for what they are: instruments of mass manipulation designed to serve the interests of a few at the expense of the many.

Misleading Subscription Terms & Organized Scam: Appalling Customer Service & Refuse to Refund - Avoid At All Costs – I am extremely frustrated with the Daily Telegraph and their most misleading subscription terms. After unsubscribing using a mobile number they provide via SMS on the day I first subscribed, I mistakenly believed my subscription was cancelled, as I was never clearly informed that unsubscribing via SMS would ONLY stop marketing messages, not the… Read more

subscription itself. This is not only confusing but feels like a deliberate strategy to mislead and ultimately defraud customers. When I reached out to customer service to resolve the issue upon becoming aware that my account has been charged $32, they confirmed my subscription was still active and I was charged despite my attempts to cancel. I provided clear evidence of my efforts to unsubscribe and cancel my account, but they insisted I needed to make a phone call to complete the cancellation — no instructions were given when I unsubscribed. After multiple attempts for a full refund, they refused, citing, ambiguous terms and conditions. Despite spending over an hour on the phone with an unsympathetic customer support representative, I was only offered a pro-rata refund of $15.00, which I declined. The terms are ambiguous, and nowhere was it made clear that unsubscribing from marketing communications wouldn’t cancel my subscription. Nowadays, most subscription services offer a simple way to manage and cancel accounts online without needing a phone call or email. The fact that this company has made the process so unnecessarily difficult is frustrating and wrong. I insisted on a full refund and warned them I would escalate the matter to the relevant authorities and share my experience publicly if it wasn’t resolved quickly. Their third response continued to try to persuade me to accept their unclear terms, suggesting they have no intention of offering a full refund. This practice is unfair and unacceptable. I strongly urge others to be cautious of this company’s deceptive practices and their convoluted cancellation process. I will be reporting this issue to the relevant consumer protection agencies, as this behaviour should not be tolerated.

mind poisoning garbage – utter mind poisoning garbage. I know people who swallow it's crap and are worse people for it. My father used to call it chip wrapper which is all it's paper version was good for. Read the toilet paper - you would be better informed.

Forces you to call up to cancel a subscription – How is it not illegal to not offer a way to cancel a subscription via the same channel you started it? If I can sign up to pay you online why don't you have the technology for me to stop paying you online? Thieves.

Gutter Reporting Tabloid Trash – The standard of reporting and outright bias displayed in this tabloid tag is atrocious. Tried to cancel my subscription and they were very pushy. I explicitly told them I did not want this being delivered to my email inbox, but they still kept coming. I don’t know why anyone would think that this rag would be a source of legitimate news, I honestly don’t know how this ‘newspaper’ gets away with what they do.

My rating is 0 – Just because I can’t give 0 rating , my rating is 1 . Absolute scam when they advertise 4$ for 4 weeks but take your 32 dollars within 2 nd week itself… you can subscribe online but can’t cancel online… what a joke . And big time paid and fake news ‼️ alert. Big shame ‼️

Subscribe at your own risk - They'll make it very difficult to cancel – Absolute scam - I signed up to the digital version of The Daily Telegraph. A couple of months later I went online to cancel the subscription as I'd stopped working and didn't want the unnecessary cost. After searching for 30 minutes I discovered the whole thing is an absolute SCAM as they don't permit cancellation online and require people to take… Read more

the time and call an overseas call centre. I eventually called the number, was on hold for 15 mins only to be badgered by the caller taker. Instead of just accepting my cancellation they wanted an in-depth reason for why I wanted to cancel, then attempted to reverse my request offering half price subscription, then offered a free extension, then I demanded they just cancel the subscription to which their response was "I'm calling your subscription but just making small talk and trying to retain you as a customer". Finally (possibly cancelled) but no confirmation has been received of this. They clearly make it as difficult as possible so people just continue to pay for a subscription when they dont want/need it.

When I finally got it touch with them on the phone they tell me I must have another account which I do not.I asked them how they hacked into my new cards details they tell me it must because of my PayPal which I have never used before. They asked me to screen shot the over charging and Email them which I did. They have agreed I have no other accounts but would not tell me how they hacked into new card. Now they saying be patient they are investigating. But that does not help my children having no food to eat until they refund my monies. They have offered no compensation nothing. You would think such a huge company like the Telegraph would do the right thing but no they are a take down company charging there customers how much they like stealing struggling people's money.Stay away from them.

Worst experience ever – Everything was going great when local news agency delivered the paper. Was getting it delivered for years. I’m surprised they still offer home delivery. What a joke !. Ridiculous subscription – Signed up online for a $1 per week subscription. Tried again and again to cancel over the phone and they ended up debiting $40 from my account over the weekend, a time when they don't take your calls to cancel. Mostly sport with the occasional spiteful opinion piece.Wont publish comments that challenge factual inaccuracies – Well we all know this isn't journalism but has been abysmal unreadable for nearly 12 months. Long tedious articles about bikers/gang warfare interspersed with the most basic of commentary on a limited range of sports.

Terrible app and even worse customer service – Firstly they made me pay extra for the subscription and membership twice (asked for my credit card three times). They should make it that you can cancel from the app and not have to call up during their office hours. So behinds the time.

Home Delivery does not work for any Sydney addresses – Despite their constant apologies and promises to get it fixed, I have not had a delivery for 4 months despite paying for it. Their reply is always "Sorry, we will try to deliver it but you can access it online, anyway." Not good enough! I paid for a printed Newspaper, so why aren't your delivering???
