The Fred Hollows Foundation

I just had the lovely young Shannon Macbeth knock on our door, he was super polite and outstandingly caring, you could tell he was super passionate about the cause he was supporting. Even in the pouring rain today he was still knocking on doors, shout out to Shannon he is a superb asset to the team, the work he does for the foundation is so significant
Definitely see Jason he’s an absolute legend. Got his heart in the cause 100%. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my donations but him good on your buddy doing well in Rothwell area. Love you Work Jake bongo
They engage in cold calling and are clearly stealing people's information because I received an unsolicited piece of mail. Do not represent the Great Man Dr. Hollows. A revenue raising operation for I don't know what.
Why is it that this foundation has people stating that they couldn't get help ,until Fred Hollows foundation came along. This doesn't seem right. Perhaps if this foundation stopped spending millions of dollars on advertising, wanting money, and spent it ,not on themselves, but the actual people that they are wanting it for,or so they say. Then perhaps then people could see of this foundations honesty. Fred Hollows started doing this to help people. Unfortunately, his son has just turnt it into a business. A very profitable one for himself. Very profitable.
Worthwhile organisation let down by the "sell" – I have made donations to The Fred Hollows Foundation (TFHF) in the past knowing its valuable work in Australia and around the world. Recently I was leaving a local supermarket when I was spoken to by a man at a temporary stand advertising TFHF. I told him that I had donated to the Foundation and had other charities I commit to on a rotational basis as a retiree. When I asked if he wanted to talk about donating he told me no and proceeded to describe a service of TFHF in providing assistance in areas of conflict.
He moved quickly to start filling out some details on an iPad: I queried this as my details were already held by TFHF. While I was trying to make sense of what he was doing, he wanted to sign me up for TFHF Visionary program and told me that the first monthly contribution would be deducted a month after I signed up and I could save for it by putting aside coins (sic). As I was hurrying to avoid a parking charge I signed in the knowledge I had a month to reflect on whether I wished to make an ongoing monthly contribution.
I was still a bit uncomfortable about it a few days later when I checked my credit card account and found the monthly deduction had occurred immediately in August 2024 rather than mid September. This turned my uncomfortable feeling to one of negativity at being misled.
