The Mighty Toddler

Excellent – Robin Barker has become my saviour in the early hours of the mornings when advice was needed but unavailable elsewhere. From the wonderful Baby Love book which takes you from pre baby to 1 year old this book follows on and aides parents in raising The Mighty Toddler. I love the fact that Robin Barker doesn't preach right and wrong but is open to all styles of parenting which helps when you need advice and you don't want someone telling you that what you are trying to do as a parent is incorrect and that there is a correct way. She gives you different options without the guilt. A must have for any parent to a toddler. Excellent follow on from the wonderful Baby Love book by the same author. There is nothing to fault at all with this book
Excellent – I bought Baby Love after hearing mothers rave about the practical advise in the book and agree it was a great book that came in handy for my baby's first year, aside from her info on non existent teething. For this reason I decided to also buy The Mighty Toddler now I have myself a 14 month old. There is so much to read, I can see I will be referring back to this book many times as situations come up.
The information on behaviour and disciple techniques is great. As is the section on illnesses, with symptoms and remedies and a chart that is easy to refer to for symptoms of infections diseases. Great reference book for each age group as your toddler goes through each year.
All the topics of interest you could think of, that relate to these growing years are covered in this book. Behaviour, sleep, food, play, illnesses are particularly of interest to me at the moment.
Good value for money book, very thick with lots of information. I can't believe Robin Barker doesn't believe teething symptoms exist.
Good – This and Baby Love have helped me to keep my confidence in the middle of the night when there is no one else to talk to. It gives great strategies for dealing with common ailments and explains what to do... Go to the hospital? When? etc. And helps to stop the list of unnecessary questions when going to the health clinic. Wouldn't be caught without either of these books- never know when u have a question! It is a great book in times of concern. Gives useful and down to earth advice. Teaches how to undertake difficult parenting strategies eg control crying, time out etc. Index is a little confusing when you are in a hurry for the answer but not enough to worry about.
