Absolutely ridiculous school photos. Class photo was digitally made from individual photos. Not one student was sized proportionately with height of peers. The entire school portrait was ai and it shows. Tall children made short, some children look further away than others. Very poorly done. This company has no right being in this business.
I love having digital copies of my kid even if I have to pay extra. Called them to enquire about the "My First Day" packages to know which one includes a digital copy, and they said "ANY" of them. When we received the actual copies, I tried downloading from their portal (thinking that the code I had was the one in the envelope) but that didn't… Read more
work, and after calling them, they verified that there's no digital copies included in any of the "My First Day" packages. Very disappointed. They don't provide honest answers. And that's not even indicated in their website.
Terrible photos. Ridiculously overpriced and quality is awful. I wish our school would stop using them. Weve had photos done for 2 years and both have been terrible. It took nearly 3 months to get the photos back!

Careless, ignorant and unprofessional – They did my kids school photos, which included some mugs and drink bottles with their portrait. They came with thick black frame around the photo, like those for deceased persons. I politely asked to replace them without a frame, the company refused, saying I can mail the mugs and bottles back for a partial refund. Which is obviously not a fair… Read more
solution, as refund is not the point, those items have sentimental value. Plus the cost and the hassle of returning them would make most people just to let it go. And they know it. I told them I will give a poor review, but it appears they already have very poor rating, so can't be bothered by this.

Thank you so much from the whole school community – I would like to personally thank you and all those at 'The School Photographer' who made the effort to provide reprints of school photos to all the families affected by the bushfires. These were received with immense joy and appreciation. One mother burst into sobbing tears when she received them so thank you for playing your part in helping these families in a small yet big way. We truly appreciate this kind gesture.
Very Professional, Great Photos – This company has been taking my son's photos for three years, they always make sure he is well presented and take a great photo. Much better quality than the previous photographers and cheaper too! Highly recommended!
Excellent Photos Excellent Service – Our children attend a school where they’ve had the same person taking the photos for several years. Last years photos were beyond a joke. Several parents complained and had been complaining for years so they decided to engage in a different provider this year -The School Photographer. The photos were the best we’ve had in a long time and as one of… Read more
children were sick on the day, they even came back on a seperate day to photograph her and others that had missed out. Thanks to The School Photographer for providing us with great photos we will treasure for ever.
Negative reviews
We lost all our school photos in a flood. And I just wanted the portrait download (7 in total). These scammers wanted me to pay $40 per photo for something that would take them five minutes to click on their PC and email to me. What an absolute gouge on a product that was overpriced to begin with.
The ugliest photos ever! Never in 11 years have I seen any good photos made by this business. Where do they find such a "professional" staff to make such crappy photos? Those people have no idea how to set up lights and edit a photo properly.
Ever increasing prices - not worth it anymore – Prices are increasing year by year without justification as the offerings remain the same and with the same marginal quality. Highly disturbing that one company should control this market.

Overpriced and underwhelming – I hate the way they force you to overpay by including a whole bunch of rubbish that no one wants (especially these days, like multiple small and medium prints) to get the stuff you do want like the digital copy and group photo. Individuals in the group photo for larger schools are so small as to be unrecognisable without a magnifying glass and… Read more
they will not provide a digital version because of "privacy" even though the booklet also has individual head-shots of every child!
They are not professional! – They take photos of the child anyway, they don't take the slightest care to ensure that the child looks tidy in the photo, they take photos of children with messy hair, the photo is crooked, the child takes a photo once a year and brings home a bad photo. taken. Unbelievably, the schools should change company!

Terrible Photos – They asked my son to push his glasses further down his nose to avoid glare. So instead of glare the frame of the glasses cuts right across his eyes. Seriously, someone with an smart phone could do a lot better. Totally unprofessional and untrained photographers in my opinion.
Not Happy!!!! i wish the schools would use another photographer – They made my daughter tilt her head cause there was a glair on her glasses but did not make the child right next to her tilt her head and she also had glasses on, why did they not move her to another spot where the light may not have hit her glasses at all? and where is all there equipment to fix this issue or where is their digital editing… Read more
programs to fix these sort of problems? they are unprofessional and are shocking photographers when it comes to group and portrait photos they offer a 100% satisfactory guarantee yet, 5 kids later i get more disappointed with the photos especially for what they charge i've emailed my email bounced back says the email address was not found yet it's on their site and on the photos i received today not happy at all
Not good and not wise way – Advertisement was sent to us, a student's parents, for purchasing photos of our son, with a photo sample of our son printed on ads, whose face image was entangled with text or image stripes. We could not see properly how our son's whole face looks! How come we purchase the photos? We understand the company tries to make the sample photo unusable… Read more
for commercial reason. But that is too much and extreme to us ! They can make the sample photo with face image not standard clear, or with stripes crossing immediately on top or below the face, or adjacent to ears... but stripes should not run across the face that distorts the image of the face. Typical parents would not use photos with any stripes running immediately on head top or below the chin of their children or cross near ears. The practice of having stripes running across kids' face sounds very mean to us! We consider this practice being very low and without OZ generosity. We do not purchase and do not persuade other people buying these kinds of products.
Terrible child positioning & Paper quality – Can't believe non-smiling boys with folded arms are standing behind kneeling girls is seen appropriate. Faces of spread-out kids are too small for recognition. It's not at all appropriate or acceptable for incredibly expensive price. Quality of paper is cheap.
Worst School Photo in 24 Years of Teaching – As a school teacher, I am appalled to see such poor quality of 'professional' photos my child has received in her first two years of schooling. This year's group photo has shocking lighting, with some children having red faces and parts of the photo are darker than others. To top it off, some children have part of their faces obstructed due to… Read more
standing behind seated (taller) children. No care has been taken to position children according to height or clothing choices. Will not purchase again from this company and hope that with enough parent complaints, another company is used next year. To top it off, photos took over 4 months to be delivered!
lies the worst company in Australia absolutely a disgrace. Pathetic The worst postal service in the world – Absolutely the worst pack of lies, in the world blamed covid because the postman wouldn't put at the front door my parcel.. ,Disgraceful team sack them all
Waste of money terrible quality – Took 3 months to receive photos and they are a terrible quality. They take one snap of the child and don't check the digital image before moving in. What a RORT. Schools would be better off getting their own staff member to take photos. To any schools looking to hire this rip off company please don't!
Bad photos – This is the second year my child's school has used this company. the photos are bad quality and way overpriced for what you get. I am very unimpressed and hope the school use a different company next year.
Worst photo ever – Where do I start? They managed to turn my son into a blue Smurf. It is so easy to fix colour balance digitally - there is no excuse. As for the class photo- half the children are in the sun and squinting, the rest are in the dark. Now they won’t refund because I’ve already downloaded my Smurf. These guys suck.

Bad quality – Price are higher every year. Quality aren't great. Cost is very cheap compared to the price as 1 shot then make a copies to all the kids. Price should be lower not higher.
Very Ordinary – The portraits have outdated studio backdrops and little attention to capturing a nice expression of the child. The group shots are also very dated in their approach. I have never once put the photos on display. Total waste of money.
Opportunists – One star too many. They take ordinary photos and slap them on recycled paper and then expect premium dollar. They don’t care how they present their work and are actually proud of themselves! Pathetic. No need to say more, the bad reviews overall speak for themselves.
No idea why our school uses this company – Similar experience to others. Very ordinary photos. Two years now the photographer has been obsessed with combing my kids' fringes to the side. This is not how they wear them. I have written on the order forms, yet they ignore this. I want a photo that represents my child and how they look - not how they never look! They get your money… Read more
upfront in Term 1, photos received in Term 3. Three months! Not good enough. I hope our school moves to another company.
No care given ! – 3rd year in a row of crappy school group and sibling photos. No care given by this company of how appearances are develops. These photos are meant to be for memories ! Why PCC uses this company is crap!
Unprofessional – My son started year 7 this year within 1 week school photo time. Never dealt with this company in Primary. My cc was being replaced so as a sole parent with 1 card & now unavailable I rung company to ask if I could pay with a cheque, no & don’t take cash. So I got a money order. Cost $11. Anyway they told me they accept money orders. Explained… Read more
in detail my situation to kelly who seemed nice.
Called back 2 weeks later to see if money order received - told money order confirmation is ‘another area’, no one called me back. Requested being called back no one called. And with work I cannot keep calling to see if money received. I explained my situation.
Fastforward 3 months my son comes home crying everyone got their photos but not him.
Ring school photographer to be bluntly told money not received?
So I paid cc as I wanted the photos & now paid twice - I told them I would be tracing the money order via Australia Post as this seems unusual.
Thursday gone a formal letter arrives in the post advising this company banked the money with date & location plus bank disclosed.
Ring company back spoke to Gay who was defensive and rude. Went on to tell me they don’t bank in Vic (I am nsw). And no refund if they can’t find their money?
I said Australia Post has confirmed in writing ‘The School Photographer’ has banked the money order. I want a refund!
I have paid twice for 1 set of photos.
Worst customer experience in 30 years.
I am still trying to get a refund after paying twice. With proof of payment.
Be wary. I will be notifying the school this is not only a very poor customer experience but borderline corrupt.
I think it’s good business practice for schools to receive constructive feedback if the company is hard to deal with. Parents work and time is valuable.
Force children to undo buttons – Discovered after asking child why they looked so scared in group photo was told the photographer makes them undo their top button. If the child refuses the photographer undoes it
Longest wait time for photos – I don’t know why my sons school uses this photographer. They are so slow to return. His photos were done first week in march and still haven’t been returned 3 months later. How long do people wait before going to consumer affair for refunds ?
Cranky photographer, demanded child remove her glasses – This is the second year my daughter has had issues with these photographers, last year they made her cry. My daughter has worn glasses since she was 6 months old, we take ALL photographs of her wearing glasses. No excuses. Last year, my daughter was in year 10 and the photographer was so definite, my daughter removed her glasses and rang me… Read more
crying. I rang the principal and the photo was retaken (however with red puffy eyes). This year my daughter argued with the photographer, the photographer gave in and took the photo. However, my daughter believes she was frowning due to the interaction. We are not looking for an award winning photograph, just a record of school, I am fine with the glare. Do not insist students remove their glasses.
Unreliable & very incompetent admin staffs! – Very unreliable and slow service! Their admin is incompetent! A very regretful and disappointing experience !!! Not a good company to hire !! I would not recommend this company to anyone.. Just terrible!
Worse school photography – 3 years in a row they stuffed up my sons school photos. We paid for digital copies to share with the family. Never received them nor have been able to access them online. There response. Cant you just copy 1 you have and send it.
