Therapy Weighted Blanket

Won't ship and won't refund – I ordered a blanket from this site in November. It's now January, and not only have they not shipped it, they won't confirm when it will ship. The website still says 'ships in 6 days' on the product they know is not in stock and can't be shipped, so they're still trading even though they can't fulfil existing orders. wrote Therapy Blanket an email that my shipment was marked delivered by the courier without me receiving any item. Today is Nov 12, 6 weeks after my purchase, and still, I don't have any blanket nor any refund.

First, there was an error in Therapy's checkout system such that it incorrectly changed the address I typed and selected from the dropdown menu by itself. Second, I asked for proof of delivery but until today, there is no proof of delivery such as a photo or any proof of signature that the parcel was received or any advice at all as to where my parcel is. There is also no option in the checkout system for me to select whether I would require a signature or not for the delivery or should I require extra cover for the shipment to New Zealand or not. I am very surprised how the company can be very dismissive about the matter knowing your customer did not receive their package for 6 weeks.

I have been asking for my refund or replacement as promised in their guarantee but this is utterly a false advertisement! This is the worst purchase service I have ever experienced. I don't have a blanket and this has been occupying my headspace for 6 weeks now and Therapy is poorly responsive and without any sense of urgency to address the matter. I am still hoping this is not a scam of course but as of now, while I have already paid $208 and not have received anything, it's a big sham.

Huge improvement in my sleep quality – I purchased a Therapy Blanket on a whim after toying with the idea of a weighted blanket for some time. I fell asleep quickly and had an incredibly deep snooze, so much so, I had to force myself to wake up. Wondering if that was just a coincidence, I decided to give it a couple of weeks before reviewing it. I can honestly say that almost without exception, I have felt significantly more refreshed upon waking and am aware that I have not been thrashing around throughout the night! It took me a couple of days to work out the best way to incorporate it with my own bedding, and I've now discovered that it is enough for me (or has been in Autumn) to simply have the therapy blanket as my sole cover. I lay it out on top of my doona cover and snuggled between them. Bonus, no bed making needed in the morning. I may need to layer it in winter. As for helping me to get to sleep more quickly, I have found that if I practice a bit of slow breathing, the combination of that and the weight of the blanket seems to ground me more quickly....but I'm still working on that aspect of my sleep improvement. All in all, after a couple of weeks I can definitely say that I am sleeping far more deeply....I'm dying to find my fitbit charger so I can actually see the proof, but I wake up really fresh and refreshed. I also found the construction of the blanket and cover was of particularly good quality. The instructions of how to attach the cover could perhaps be clearer, but once in, its really secure and doesn't get tangled at all. I'm super happy with my purchase and the contact people in the office were an absolute delight to deal with. Thanks all round.

using a duvet and when I do wake in the night, it feels like Im being hugged, so I have noticed I am not clenching my jaw and teeth and fall back to sleep quicker than I used to!

There is no sounds of beads when I move, its much quieter than most duvets! The weight distribution is perfectly even because the square compartments are small.

The amazing plus point of better sleep, outweighs the slight negatives, which I hope to get used to. Below are my niggles!

I ordered the 7 kg blanket, even though for my weight, I should have gone for the 9 kg one, but I'm so glad I did, because there are several downsides about even having this much weight! At first, it felt uncomfortable and almost smothering to lay on my back, as the weight of the blanket pushed down on my chest and lungs, but every night I get more used to that! The weight of the blanket on my toes, makes them curl under or back towards the top of my feet, so not as comfortable for your feet as a duvet. Three things about it make me more achy - the effort to turn over, makes me lay in one position for longer. Because I am more relaxed and hence less fidgety, I am moving less at night than with a duvet, so hence I get more stiff. Because it pushes me down slightly into the mattress, the mattress is feeling more firm and again, makes me more achy in the mornings!

It is slightly more narrow than a duvet so at first, I got a few drafts, but quickly got used to that as it seems to snuggle around me pretty effortlessly. It's pretty heavy to lift and re arrange in the mornings, but I've got used to it. It's winter, so I'm sleeping with the warmer side towards me, but the colder top side is colder than a duvet when I rest my arms on it; but its still a good idea to have a cold and warm side! The grey colour is pretty drab, a lighter fresher colour would be nicer! I miss sleeping in my cotton or cotton/polyester duvet covers! But all of these slight cons are outweighed by the real purpose if it - to sleep well and feel relaxed!!

So, in conclusion, with getting more sleep, life is much better in so many ways and I am not over eating so much by day, which already has made me lose some weight and so with that, I'm hoping I will therefore get less achy in the mornings, which so far seems to be the main downside of this blanket for me as a women in my 50s!!

Love it! Just treat with care – I did experience an issue with my blanket. The customer service team was extremely helpful in helping me rectify the quality issue. --> The glass beads can come out, but if you treat the blanket with care it shouldn't be an issue. Good product and great after sales service – Product really does help you sleep better. And having a ‘warm’ and a ‘cool’ side to the cover really makes a positive difference. My blanket started losing some of its fill recently, towards the end of the warranty period. Customer service team asked for some pictures as evidence, then immediately offered a replacement. don't fall for the 30-day free trial – Don't fall for this sham marketing it should be and will be reported to consumer affairs. For the price tag you expect quality – After 1 year of buying the blanket - only used for 6 months in colder weather, the glass beads are falling out. Fine if you only use it for a year – Similar to other users, found that the glass beads leave their pockets after a while and bunch up in the corners of the blanket. Tiny glass beads have also started coming out through the stitching. Contacted customer service to see if it was repairable (it is now 4 months outside the 12 month warranty). Poor quality – The glass moves around and doesn’t stay in their pockets. The zipper connecting the cover to the blanket is of terrible quality and didn’t work at all. I emailed them and they asked me to send a video. I did this and they wrote an email back asking for further videos of the faulty zipper... I’m too scared to try returning it from all the other commmens of people having lots of trouble getting a refund.

King too heavy. Try a cheaper alternative first – We purchased a super king to fit out bed and met the combined weight suggestion. It came with what looks like an oil stain right in the middle but at the time I wasn't worried because it came with the bamboo case to cover it up (however considering how much we paid, it's really not acceptable). cases with the king cover, so strange that it doesn't considering it's for 2 people and you can't even buy separately if you wanted to. I do love the intention of these blankets and would love to say we liked it but the king was soooo heavy and uncomfortable even spread between 2 of us. I woke up with a sore lower back consistently for the week we tried it, and our muscles just always felt tired. It now lives in the cupboard because I didn't realise there was a 30 day return policy and judging by the issues people have had with returns I'm not sure I would have bothered (and of course only good reviews on the website). If you want to purchase, I'd suggest trying a cheaper alternative first to see if a weighted blanket is for you. And if you buy from Therapy, then maybe get 2 smaller ones at a lower than suggested weight.

Find another supplier – Did a lot of research, Therapy Blanket offer a 30 day trial period and had the king size that we wanted. Purchased the weighted blanket based on the websites calculation of two people’s body weight if buying a king size, had it 2 nights but it was far too heavy and returned it to the 3PL depot the day after they accepted our request to return it… Read more

for a refund. There were no defects found when it arrived to us, nor when we packaged it to return. We met all conditions of their returns policy but 2.5 weeks later we finally received a refund minus 30% for a loose thread. Will not recommend this company to others, no integrity. How can you charge $70 for a loose thread that was either there to begin with, or occurred during the few days it was in our possession suggesting poor quality stitching, or during the 2.5 weeks that it sat in Star Tracks 3PL that this supplier use for storage.

If you only use it for a year! – Just after a year of purchase, the cells that keep the glass bits apart already disrupted. If you take the cover sheet off, be ready to see small glass parts all over. Poorly made and doesn't last – While initially delighted with the blanket, after 12 months it has become apparent that there is a design flaw. soft but firm. When I meditate i can use this to enter into a state of relaxation where the user can let their worries fade away much faster than in traditional modern bedding as cortisol levels in my body drop within 20 minutes for me personally.
