The biggest SCAM on the internet. They offer a cashback deal on transactions made at various retailers. An amount appears on your profile as "pending" and it is meant to later change to a transferable amount. This rarely (if ever) happens, and funds are removed from profile without warning. Any positive reviews should not be trusted. Anyone who has written a positive review have definitely been rewarded for doing so.

Hidden international fees wipe out all cashback. Forget the Gift Card shop! If you are buying gift cards on Topcashback AU, look out for hidden fees. modest 1.65% cashback ($3.25). Instead, because the payment was routed internationally, I was hit with a $5.91 international transaction/cross-border fee from my bank. This completely wiped out the cashback and turned a "saving" into a net financial loss.

There is Zero Transparency or Warning at checkout. I contacted their support team to raise this lack of disclosure, and they completely ignored my message. Go to Shopback for gift cards.

UPDATE (June 2026):

Following this review, TopCashback responded promptly and reimbursed the $5.91 international fee into my account as a gesture of goodwill. They also confirmed they have officially transitioned to a new gift card provider to eliminate these cross-border processing fees entirely for future buyers.

While I appreciate the prompt resolution, it shouldn't require a public review to get a customer support response. Furthermore, pointing to a fine-print disclaimer at the final point of settlement doesn't excuse the lack of transparency. Under Australian consumer expectations, when using a .com.au domain to buy a local voucher in AUD, there is a reasonable expectation of local routing. Burying a cross-border warning at checkout is "hidden pricing friction"—especially when a $5.91 bank fee completely wipes out a $3.25 cashback incentive. That condition is material to the buying decision and should be front and center, not a checkbox at the finish line.

I have upgraded my rating to 3 stars because TopCashback did the right thing by refunding the fee and structurally fixing their platform. Hopefully, the new provider delivers a genuinely fee-free experience going forward.

I made purchase within time frame and spent more than required to receive $5 back - and NOTHING changed. For TopCashBack - purchase didn't happen. Customer service told me that there are only three companies have been clicked by me and refered me to my earning account. family all have the same domain) and need to verify and for the past month have locked down all accounts which now have hundreds of dollars waiting to claim (from thousands of dollars of spend). I have already advised the accounts were for family members (and the couple of accidently duplicated ones which they can close) and our family can 100% verify each and every one with ID and receipts.....but since they provided this email they have not responded to any of my attempts to provide verification so the money can be unlocked. I have now emailed the "contact" address four times and not one response (and no response to my family). I'm ready to lodge a Consumers Affairs complaint against them as they have not met their promise on the advertised cashbacks (which is why I shopped through them) and will not respond so I can do so. Stay away and I'll be sticking with Shopback (for which I have more than $3000 in cashbacks without any issue actually getting the money!!) Just as in Cash rewards, you have to wait a while till the cash is available after a pirchase. It can vary I think, but usually at least a month. I haven't made any grand profits, I have found that with some of the companies that offer a cash reward, you have to be very careful to read the details. Amazon is notorious for this (in my eyes anyway). You'll see an email that says up to 10% available on Amazon but when you look, sure, a limited category might be getting 10% but most other things are about 0.3 %.

That of course is not the fault of Topcashback but it does mean you might find another store where you'll actually get a bit more eg 2% back for your purchase, so it pays to shop around.

So far, over the last year or so, I have been paid out about $59, so you won't make a fortune but every little bit helps. The payout process was very easy.

Pros: - The click throughs have all worked really well so for me far, except for a couple -- an ebay rebate promo which Topcashback fixed for me when I appealed, and one other missed click. Other than that everything has tracked correctly which is pretty amazing since they don't have a browser extension and the other two companies I've used in the past both did, and both have way more missed clicks.

- Their rates are good and I find them using more and more when I compare current rates for sites.

- Their customer service was very good when I used them.

-The website is easily to use, uncluttered, just shows you the facts and is simple.

Cons: - Unfortunately they don't have a browser extension at this time. I kind of wish they did so I could remember to use them more.

My first purchase did hit a minor snag because of a browser issue at my end and after a couple of chats with the staff at TCB it was quickly sorted….and this was on a Sunday…..yes they have real people to assist you on a Sunday! I bought an expensive item 4.5k+ that didn't track (not topcashback's fault, fault at seller end), store rep 'tightarse' from ozbargain helped me out and mediated between the seller on my behalf. Communication was professional, pleasant and prompt. Long story short the item was eventually tracked! Many thanks to tightarse for his effort and time!

Followed all instructions carefully, no issues with other cashbacks with Topcashback but my first ever temu purchase did not track and was denied on review. Caused me to overpay since I was counting on the cashback.

Cashback was declined after months with a generic reason. I did not use any voucher code, extension, or other cashback site. Ticket was closed straight away, leaving no proper chance to appeal. Very poor support and no clear resolution.

Has anyone else had the same issue? I am thinking whether we should report this together to the ACCC, Consumer Affairs Victoria, or look at what legal action we can take.

We should not stay silent if this keeps happening, otherwise they can just keep treating customers like this.

Topcashback AU has been an awesome experience since the beginning. I personally have gained more than $2000 cashback. Occasionally it will not track even though my flow stays the same, but every requests/claim to the service has been 100% positive and credited me my cashback every single time. company requests an ID or a phone number to verify new account opening, these issues will not happen. Your company fails the obligations at the very beginning but does not want to take the consequences. The other major 'cashback' company has their own procedures to identify new account when opening to avoid damage their customers in the future. They declined my payout of around $95.50, I have extended family members who have been referred, however it is against their terms. Disappointed with this outcome, they should make it clear that multiple family members/households are not eligible.. will revert back to shopback

TCB with Temu 40% followed all the steps and did not track. 1 week later with SHopback tracked 50% offer next day, weeks later TCB Im still waiting for claim. I now always preference Shopback as more reliable and TCB is like online gambling.

they put on ice until after almost a week. I could have cancelled the order if I knew. Order was declined after that and when I contacted them they refused to do anything saying this is by the supplier not us. Ended up paying for something above its true value. After first use, when a pending cashback appeared, TopCashback unilaterally closed and terminated your account. Already reported this issue to the ACCC and the relevant authorities.
