TP-Link Smart WiFi Multicolour LED Bulb is a must have accessory with Google Home / Amazon Alexa – I have a couple of this TP-Link Smart WiFi Multicolour LED Bulb. It is certainly not cheap at AUD69 at Officeworks and is the most expensive in the TP-Link smart LED bulb range. That said, it can change colour to yellow, orange, red, maroon, green, blue, violet, purple, pink, you name it and it can also be set by colour temperate in kelvin from… Read more
2500K to 9000K. It is also dimmable and maxes out at 800lm (about 60W incandescent bulb).
It can be voice controlled using Google Home or Amazon Alexa and it is compatible with Stringify and IFTTT making it very versatile, without the need of a hub like the Philips Hue. Guess if I am changing or swapping out all my lights to Philips Hue bulbs then having a hub that controls all of them would make sense. Sorry, I just can't justify it for my current set up, nor do I want to be locked into a particular brand.
Three things to note:
1. LB130 comes in a E27 (screw type) base. It does not come in a B22 (bayonet) base variant or adapter to make it B22.
2. It is particularly tall at 17cm tall / length which is very tall especially compared with such as LIFx bulbs (10.5cm for LIFx Mini). Make sure your lamp has enough space to take this bulb before dropping cash on it. If you get an adapter that LB130 can screw into giving you B22 base, imagine how much longer this bulb gets.
3. It consumes power continuously, <0.5W on standby and 11W when lit).
One nice touch about this product is the soft on / off. It takes about 2sec to become fully lit or dim to black. Very nice. If it isn't so expensive, I would have given it 5/5 stars.
