They broke a good usb adapter – I have a Tplink TL-WN822N it is ver 3.0 and it works fine. So I needed another adapter for a separate computer and bought another one. However upon receiving this item I noticed it has changed to ver 4, not only that, the chipset has also changed. This new revision has given me nothing but headaches, I have tried five different drivers,… Read more
changed the wireless channels etc. All this adapter does is randomly disconnect from the internet and often gives my computer a Blue Screen of Death.
I tried my ver 3 adapter, and no problems at all.
TP Link, as the old saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. You tried to fix a great product but somehow managed to make it worse.
Terrible. I do not recommend this adapter anymore. Look elsewhere such as D-link etc
not for windows 10 – Every now and then drops out on NBN & new win 10 machine. It seems no downloads updates available. Hesitated to write this but inserted my old fav D- link dwl- d122 and it works perfectly . Have tried this several times so gave tp link the flick.
NOT FOR WINDOWS 10! – I bought this new adapter and it has been running fine for a month on our Business PC on Windows 7. I updated to Windows 10 and can no longer access the Internet. The adapter shows as "enabled" and can see the Modem/Router, (with 'Limited' access), but diagnostics state probable driver issue. No W10 driver and TP-Link support confirms this is unit not supported for W10. Be warned.
Quick Service – I bought this item and I hoped to use it with a DVD Recorder. I found out after I ordered it that it was not suitable for my application. I gave it to my Son-In-Law and he said it has given him good reception as his PC is a distance from the main Router.
