Trailsplus

Avoid this company at all costs – Great races but a terrible, unprofessional company. I've been signing up for races for many years and I've never had such a bad experience. A trail race called Wonderfalls was cancelled in August 2022 just 2 hours before starting due to flooding, despite the weather forecast predicting heavy rain. Trailsplus then decided to hold an identical event 2 months later but wanted to charge us runners another 50% of the entry fee to run, even though we'd already paid in full for the cancelled event.

I sent an email complaint to the director about how unfair this decision was but no response. I followed up with another email and I received a rude, unprofessional response containing personal digs at me. I also discovered that Trailsplus had gone behind my back to contact my running club and complain about my complaint. My club had a good relationship with this company but I was complaining as an individual, so there was no right or reason to get my club involved.

I discovered that the new Wonderfalls event also got cancelled, but this time 2 days before, not 2 hours. I commented on their Facebook page that it was weird they knew the forecast so much earlier this time. I also explained to a fellow runner how disgusted I was at their decision to re-charge runners. My comments were deleted and I can't see their page on Facebook anymore so I assume I'm blocked. They clearly can't handle any form of negative feedback whatsoever.
