My 6 year old's first RC car – I am fortunate to buy a Traxxas Stampede (basic model) 2wd with brush motor. This was a birthday present for my 6 year old and hence, I bought the most basic and cheapest version that traxxas sells. I got a deal from ebay from one of the sellers in Melbourne and got the vehicle for just 300 Australian Dollars. The car has three modes: 1. Forward only mode.

2. half speed mode for beginners (max 24 km/ hr)

3. professional mode for advanced users capable of attaining 48 km/ hr speed.

The car can go upto a range of 100m+. The longest I have taken is around 110m and the car was still working. My son is quite capable of handling the car and the machine is powerful. You have to be in a playground or open area as this might hit someone they might get hurt as well. The best part is that each and every part can be replaced and you will find ample videos and manuals in order to change any part.

Unfortunately, the charger can be used only in the car and you would have to buy an additional charger which I got an aftermarket one for additional 35 dollars. The battery takes 1 - 1.5 hours to charge and lasts for 15 to 25 minutes. You can get a new after market or original high capacity battery which would last for 35 minutes but it comes at an additional cost of 60 dollars.

Initially, I thought that I am spending too much but the RC car had been well worth the money spent on it. The box comes with remote, batteries for the remote, car body, some additional parts and accessories, stickers, user manual and a charger. The parts are costly but quality comes with cost.

I am more than happy to answer any questions that you might have or in case you want me to post videos of the car in working mode.

Regards

Ashish

Traxxas Stampede VXL 2wd – This thing is like a Toyota Hilux. Unbreakable, you can get parts in any corner of the world (if the unbreakable breaks or you want to upgrade) and its sold at a sensible price for all the stuff you get on it. Wheelies/ go as fast as a 1/10 scale should go, jump off buildings and smash into walls all day every day. Out of the box doing wheelies at 50kms/hour There is always some modification you want to buy, and them and batteries cost money
