Save your money for a DJI drone! – My experience with this drone has been ok but definitely not good or excellent. When I first got this drone it flew as accordingly expected. BUT the camera would wobble in flight messing up the video recording. Was not happy and had to come up with a solution to stop it wobbling in flight Thankfully I made a gimble that allowed the camera from… Read more

wobbling. I have owned this drone for 3 years now and have never really had a massive issue with it besides the camera wobbling. Yes I must admit here and there the drone would sometimes lose control for a few seconds. But eventually I would regain control of it again thankfully.

Overall I would not recommend this drone as it has the potential to cause a serious amount of damage to someone and in my opinion is a waste of $500. I suggest planning to invest in a DJI drone like the DJI mini 2.

Waste of money and potentially dangerous – I bought a Twister Quattro X about 2 years ago and crashed it into a lake. I was flying normally, then it just went out of control and ditched. I figured it was a bit of bad luck and maybe some pilot error for not being able to pull it out of a dive. The electronics were wrecked, but the chassis was still perfect, so I decided to buy another one… Read more

so the I could use the wreck as spares. The new one behaved ok for a couple of flights, then one day when filming my kids it got quite wobbly in flight and took off into the distance never to be seen again. It appeared to be taken over by another controller and would not respond to any of my commands from the remote. I tried “Return to Home”, manual mode (non GPS) and finally switching the controller off. It took my GoPro with it and neither has been seen again. My main fear was that it would injure someone when it finally crashed, but I have had heard nothing so I assume it crashed without harming anyone. I always calibrated the compass before each flight, made sure I had GPS lock and used high quality Duracell Lithium batteries in the remote. The Twister Quattro X is a piece of junk and I would not recommend it to anyone. I would save your money and buy a better quality drone.

Great Value – The quattro x is not a toy and needs to be calibrated correctly every time before flying. It has numerous features that make it a safe and easy quad to fly. It is good to know that every Quattro X is test flown before it leaves the factory. I have five quadcopters but this is my favourite. I have logged over twenty hours flying my Quattro x without incident. Follow the instructions and you will have endless hours of flying pleasure.

It started off fine put it straight into gps mode but when landing it came down from about two feet – Skid replaced recalibration complete flying good until prop fell off and it fell on to a soft grassy area I thought all would be good but again plastic not up to standard and it was broken in lots of places will cost a couple of hundred to fix not happy Jan.i have talked to another person same problem.

This quad is a total waste of $500 – I purchased this quad for approximately $500 from RC Garage in Boronia a few months ago, and within weeks of purchasing it I realised what a colossal mistake I made. The quad completely loses control as it descends at reasonable rates of descent which other quads handle with ease. It starts to wobble uncontrollably and literally falls out of… Read more

the sky, never to regain stability and control again. By comparison, I can let my ~$200 Ares Ethos quite literally drop out of the sky by turning the controls off and on again and regain control of the quad, no matter how strong the downwash is.

The GPS features works 50 per cent of the time, and when it does, it's known to turn off mid-flight if it loses the signal (which it does even in open fields with no physical or electronic obstructions). That pretty much renders all the features which depend on the GPS useless. So all the "safety" features go out the window. When the GPS does work, it takes on average 5-10min to establish a signal. Coupled with the time taken to calibrate the quad before each and every flight, and setting up your GoPro inside the awkwardly positioned camera holder, you spend more time preparing the quad as you do flying it.

The manufacturer claims the software is upgradable via its micro USB port on the underside of the quad. Good luck getting your computer to recognise the quad! I've tried plugging it into 3 different laptops running completely different systems, and each time I got an error saying the attached device could not be recognised. There is also nothing about this topic in the manual or on the internet, so it's pretty much up to the end user to figure it all out (but of course I never had the opportunity to get this far because none of my computers even recognised the device).

Don't just take my word on all of this. Go on YouTube and you'll find countless videos of people losing control of their Quattro-Xs. This is a widespread problem that needs to be addressed by the manufacturer, but unfortunately they (and RC Garage) won't acknowledge it or do anything about it.

Please don't waste $500 on this dangerous piece of equipment.
