Urban Forager Organic Chicken Stock Concentrate
2 reviews
More like celery concentrate – Bought at Woolworths on a whim (I think it was on special) and ugh, so disappointing. Tastes like celery salt. Not a hint of chicken. Luckily I keep chicken stock in the freezer, so didn't need to wreck a meal with this. Will be able to use it up in mid-week soups, I guess.
Purchased in at Woolworths Physical store.
Australian Made Stock – I discovered a wonderful new type of Organic Chicken, Beef and Vegetable Stock Concentrate made right here in Australia. It's made by a company called Urban Forager and is absolutely wonderful. Being a concentrate 1 teaspoon makes 1 cup of stock, so you get a potential 10 litres of stock from 1 x 250g jar. and being only a 250g jar it takes up so little space in the pantry or in the fridge after being opened.
It can be bought from certain Woolworths Supermarkets when available but has become so popular of late that it is often hard to source, but can be found on line as well. A jar costs $19.95 making 10 litres of stock and lasts up to 12 months in the fridge after being opened. So that's $2 per litre. I had a small issue with a jar of stock and contacted Urban Forager by email and a lovely lady named Lou actually phoned me back and after discussing the issue she promptly put a replacement jar in the mail. Talk about wonderful customer service. Aussie Made and Aussie Owned and Organic as well, what's not to like.
