Seamless service – We used Valiants Furniture hire service after moving into our new property as we have delays with our furniture getting delivered. The team met the brief perfectly and have made our new place feel like a home immediately. In fact I will call on their other services for interior design advice. I would highly recommend them.

Exceeded expectation, providing amazing service, products and styling! – So thrilled with the service and end result that Valiant Interiors provided. We recently used Valiant Interiors to style our new display home in Leopold Vic. and couldn't be happier. The girls listened and understood the brief and exceeded our expectations. They were great to deal with, keeping us informed along the way and meeting our deadlines… Read more
(even as these changed, completion of new build pushing out). Special thanks to Jo-Ann and Shauna, who went above and beyond. We are looking forward to working with them again in the future and would highly recommend to anyone looking for display home hire.
Bad quality – Bad quality specially their chairs. They used old and damaged ones for the exhibition which was really disappointing. Hope they increase the quality of the furnitures and services in the future.
Great Stylists – I have used Valiant's styling services for years and they never disappoint, Denise and her team are a pleasure to work with. Love working with Clare she has amazing style and nails it every time. Just recently she styled a property in Collingwood, it sold within 2 weeks! Received many compliments and positive feedback on how it was styled. Highly recommend Valiant and will continue to use their services.
Absolutely Fantastic! – What an amazing business! Given Valiant's reputation, I always knew the styling of my property would be first class (which is was) but what I didn't expect was such an outstanding level of customer service! From the initial enquiry ( thanks Brianna for spending so much time on the phone with me), to the install (Matthew Dine you are a design god… Read more
and thanks for taking the time to send me all the photos), and throughout the whole sales campaign, the whole team were amazing. Special thanks to Denise Turner who was always so pleasant and obliging to deal with. Denise - You really made the whole experience of selling our property so much easier and you really are a wonderful ambassador for valiant. I really cant recommend this business enough.
Exceeding my Expectations! – A big Thank you to Gudrun, our great stylist, she listened to what I had in mind and came out with a great result. She exceeded our expectations in terms of styling. Our sale photos on the website looked fantastic and sold the property just over a week. Thank you so much, looking forward to working with Valiant in the future. Elizabeth
Sold for a record price in 3 days – Thanks to Valiant Hire & Erica Gunn we were able to achieve 4 written offers which resulted in record price for our client in 3 days. The property looked fantastic which I truly believed help us achieve such a great outcome.
Valiant Furniture Hire, Hirer Beware. How to go from delivering a Great Customer Experience to leavi – Hiring furniture to sell our house was the best thing we could of done. Valiant helped to project manage the set up of our home and organise a very talent consultant to stage the house perfectly. After the 6 weeks, Valiant organised to collect the furniture. The time they allocated for collection wasn't suitable for us to be at the house due to… Read more
work commitments, so we left the key under the mat. A few days after the collection of the furniture I received a call to inform us that we will need to pay for a missing picture. I explained that we took photos of all the items and had accounted for each piece prior to leaving the key. Apparently as a Customer you don't have a voice! Even if you offer to fill in a statutory declaration as a legal document defined under the law that the items hired where in the house at the time of purchase. After a 40 minute conversation with the Melbourne office Manager and being told that Valiant cannot be responsible for missing items and it's the basically my issue and the only way forward to to suck it up and pay $230 for the missing picture...
$300k over our asking price! – People thought we were crazy tossing out our furniture getting in a designer from Valiant Hire and using their furniture but wow what a difference it made - in fact $300K difference and we are sure it was the expert styling that made our little weather board stand out from the rest. On the day we made more money than any other comparable sale in… Read more
our area and we can only put this down to the expertise of Valiant as our house looked amazing. We tell everyone about Valiant as it is an investment in your sake that will reap huge rewards.
Paula Downs and Valiant have been taking care of our clients for years and do a fantastic job – Valiant recently styled a property for us at 6 Little Finlay St, Albert Park that came up very well and ended up selling well above its reserve
Fantastic result – A note to thank you so much for your assistance with furnishing my mother's unit for sale - for the introduction to your stylist, and especially being able to pull it off at such short notice. Her choice of furniture for the market was spot on - classic styling with up to date pops of colour The photographer yesterday and the agents who… Read more
viewed the unit today all said that they thought the styling and furniture choice was fantastic!!
The property sold before going to auction - we are delighted with the result
Amazing transformation – I just had Valiant style my unit and it looks amazing. The furniture was all wrapped in plastic as it had been cleaned. My experience with Valiant and their Interior Stylist was great. I could not do it myself, and I found them to be friendly, honest and very professional. I will use them again for sure and recommend them to anyone wanting to sell their property...
Valiant Furniture Hire, Hirer Beware! As featured on "selling houses Australia" – 1. The furniture are not as up to date as on website and "selling houses australia", they look around 7-10 years old. I have paid $5200 for a 3 bedrooms 1 study 1 living room 1 set of formal dining and some stool decor for 6 weeks marketing campaign. It is their "platinum package" meaning best package. I was a little shocked on the quality as it… Read more
will cost me lesser to buy and own them online. As they look so second hand.
2. The rugs are so dirty i have to buy my own from carpet call to replace them. I kept their rugs in the laundry.
3. The designer kept reassuring me that i don't need the newest furniture, as my property is an older property. I gave in as it looks okay. The property is not yet sold at a realistic price, it just shows that these furniture did nothing to improve the chances of a sale.
4. Charging absurd amount of money when contract ceased. My contract with them ended today 29/10/2014. The office lady called and try to sell me into hiring another week or more or they could arrange pick up, we decided that we will not be extending the contract.
This is when the whole situation turned against me. The lady was determined to charge me $1300, at the same time accusing me of not contacting them 3 working days prior to end date, which was new to me, i told them that i can open the door for them to pick up the furniture asap, but because valiant's logistic is too busy to pick up their furniture until next thursday, therefore they will still charge me $1300 with a discount of 10% to help. Next thursday is an open for inspection day, i requested for another day that will not clash with the open, the lady said it will cost me a further $1300 because the truck is booked for another week until next available.
I actually enquired about the return policy prior to i signed the hired paper, the sales lady over the phone inform me that pick up will be arranged when the contract ceased. It was never mentioned that it is going to cost me anything further. I was quite surprise this company, with such high credential will do this to consumers. I am going through my rental paper right now to find the fine print, it is a big documents make sure you look at every fine print.
They also took my credit card details before they proceed with the hire, reason is to take $1000 as refundable bond in case of any damages that may occurred during the hire period. I had a closer look at the credit card authority, they can take funds out as they please, resulting in me cancelling my credit card immediately in case they decided to take more money out.
I am thinking of taking this further to accc. I hope there is noone else that will go through the same injustice and treatment as i did. I wasn't sure whether it's the ladies in the office did not handle the situation well, or valiant actually try to scam for more rental money. What a nightmare, and i'm still living in it.
Update 29/10/2014
In all fairness, i have found the fine print, it is written in a remark column on the quotation paper, and not on their terms and conditions online on valiant's website (the only one available), exact words as below.
"quotation is based on a minimum of 4 weeks hire -5th & 6th weeks are free of charge.
A security deposit of $1000.00 is payable with the first 4 weeks hire.
Security deposit is refundable after satisfactory return of goods.
Should the furniture be required after the 6 week hire period, the hire fee will be worked out to a weekly rate and will be continue to be charged ongoing until all goods are returned
Nb - collection of furniture requires minimum 3 working day notice, in writing prior to end of hire term,
Standard delivery and collection fees have been quoted.
Delivery and collection are made monday-friday between 8am- 3pm."
Resolution:
Valiant hire had contact me at 7.47am this morning to arrange a new pick up time within the next 48 hours time frame after their director read the negative reviews i posted online last night. The office lady is now very nice, but the director decided to have an argument with my husband over the phone when my husband called on my behalf, because valiant's director does not appreciate "how we handled the situation" - (it got nothing to do with my husband by the way) i am the one that posted negative reviews online at 3am in the morning, because the whole situation had upset me tremendously. I am glad this case had got his attention, it will make him think twice before charging customers unfairly and hopefully there will be changes in the way they run their business, knowing that he can no longer keep consumers quiet about their unethical behavior. With the power of social media, everyone will be informed.
