I had same problem with leaking of AA batteries in personal shaver and trimmer. When I went use It was discharged and went to replace the battery and had been leaking. I had shaver for 3 years and battery only been in month and rest of batteries was leaking in pack of 24. I used the in pass in 9volt format from Go Lo and had no problems. Never buy Varta from bunning
Purchased in for $9.99.
Box of 24 bought at Bunnings. Slowly but surely terminals corroded in the box even though plenty of shelf-life left. Bunnings just said 'oh, you must have got them wet or something' - no, I didn't. Won't buy Varta battery products again

Leaky batteries ruin devices ! – These Varta AAA are bad ! Sold at Bunnings Warehouse.I have two different batches and they all leaked. One my of electronic clock was nearly destroyed by the corrosive leak. Both batched are well before the best before date (best before 12-2029 and 12-2027). I am now changing out all Varta AAA batteries in my electronic devices. Buyer Beware! These leaky batteries can ruin your expensive devices. In one of the photos, you could see the battery leakages is starting to eat away the chrome on the battery terminal and turned it into silver colour. In a few more months, it would have been rusted and beyond repair.
