Victorinox Alpineer Red Swiss Army Knife

Swiss Army Knife not dish washer safe – Purchased brand new Victorinox Swiss Knife and after first use in dish washer, red plastic on both sides literally got melted. Plastic was replaced promptly by Victorinox representative in Australia, however got advise not to wash knife in dish washer. Surprised that $50 knife is not safe for dishwasher, while my other $2 plastic knife from China is ok. On the positive side, knife blade is sharp however of average quality.
