1 Claire  · Overpriced/ overvalued – The prices are nuts. From overprices to general inconsistency, they have moved away from their core mission.
1 Storm  · Disgusting – It's meant to be charity to help people in need. Not David Jones. You should be ashamed
1 Cherie B.  · So not funny at all – I went to vinnies garage sale today. I was heart broken

Today 26 April 2026 went to Vinnie's Bankstown to shop around 10.30 am There were very few customers in the store. I asked for assistance and Fatima told the young assistant not to do it I had pulled out about 10 dresses and another 10 were already at the counter I asked why and Fatima said it's not her job to do it I said I had a knee surgery and… Read more

limping and needed assisting with carrying some while I also carry others I simply walking out Vinnie's you want people to give free donations but cannot assist a customer and it's not every time a customer asks for assistance I walked out because I believed Vinnie's did not deserve my money too. Its been my favourite shop for years but today I changed my mind

Vinnies in Salisbury on John Street is over priced. Very expensive for rotten rubbish. Especially when there is a ' brand' on it and most of the time, the brand is a dupe!. Broken, stained, and top dollar. I've wasted too much money on broken dupes at this store. The display tactics get me every time.

Disgraceful – Had Vinnies turn up this morning after not coming the first day. Photos sent before hand. They were being watched. Took a look at one piece of furniture then drove off. Apparently not up to the standard. All in good condition and could be used for needy families. Absolutely ridiculous and disgraceful Just sheer laziness.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Vinnies Mandurah – A Hidden Gem Revamped! I recently visited the newly revamped Vinnies second-hand shop, and wow – what a transformation! The store looks absolutely amazing: bright, spacious, and beautifully organized. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating a welcoming and easy-to-navigate space for shoppers. A huge… Read more

shout-out to Karen, the manager, who has done an outstanding job leading this makeover. Her attention to detail and passion for the community really shines through. The displays are stylish, the clothing racks are neat, and the homewares section feels like a boutique rather than a second-hand store. Everything is clean, well-presented, and full of treasures waiting to be discovered. If you haven’t been in since the revamp, you’re missing out! Whether you’re hunting for unique fashion pieces, affordable household items, or just love a good bargain, this Vinnies is the place to go. Karen and her team have truly raised the bar – it’s second-hand shopping at its best!

Visited Balcatta Vinnies yesterday. Prices are far too high and prevents people in need from buying. Sign outside said "not accepting any more goods - at capacity". Stock wd move far quicker if prices were reasonable. Vinnies receives everything free so why need for exhorbitant prices. No wonder stock not moving.

What a disgraceful lot they are…. I had booked a furniture donation for collection. I was told by this company to have ALL the furniture outside and ready for collection. It was very hard work as a single middle aged to move everything outside for them but it was done!! I waited all day and this company did a NO SHOW. After wanting to take for… Read more

free and telling me to prepare everything for them, they did not show up. Just so dishonest. Just a disgraceful organisation who are in fact very “disorganised” and with no respect for anyone. I’ve since gotten rid of ALL of the furniture for free via FB Market place and so glad the furniture went to those in need instead of some on-selling and very much for profit shifty business. You failed terribly Vinnies.

Vinnies finds online store The photos on this site are excellent and bring out the best of any garment. Unfortunately, the physical item does not measure up to the photo and the returns policy has a lot to learn from similar online business. This is not an experience I intend to repeat.

Vinnies Moruya NSW. This has to be the most overpriced Vinnies I've ever been to. Especially books and bric a brac - many of the items are priced higher than they originally sold for new. Someone is pricing things like cameras and collectibles at crazy prices. And the stuff that they throw away! I saw workers throwing and smashing perfectly good crockery, glassware, toys, and homewares into the skip out the back. Disgraceful.

I like thrifting at Vinnies, but no matter where I go the volunteers always feel the need to know what I am buying or why I am buying it. It's not even conversational anymore, it's inquisitive, like implying why what, where, and how. I'm sorry, but just because something is second hand doesn't mean I have to go through an Inquisition to buy it.… Read more

Please keep your judgments, assumptions, and assessments to a minimum and let me buy whatever I want to buy without the commentary. I am actually paying for it. Also, shoppers please stop giving these people background stories or elaborate tales as it only encourages this behaviour. Today I bought men's shirts and the volunteer commented on each one and read the tag of one that is considered to be an expensive label. Then she commented on how nice they were and asked what I wanted them for. Then I paid using a promotional discount voucher given to me by Vinnies and she had to comment on how cheap they were now, and how I am only paying $3 per shirt. Then, when I expressed gratitude for the discount, she deliberately didn't give me a new discount voucher even though the promotion is still on and there was a whole pile of them in front of her. Ridiculous.

It appears this site has used my U.S.-based eBay listing as their own. I can’t speak to how many other listings may be using unauthorized or inaccurate photos, but I encourage buyers to exercise caution and verify authenticity before purchasing.

Do me a favor and DON'T mix old def people with vinnies. I asked a man who was working at vinnies, (excuse me?) The man DID NOT hear me the first time so I ask him again and he got up and said (WHAT?) I say (oh can you please move so I can get past?). and a few moments later and he is telling me off because he thinks I said (MOVE) WOW!

Message to Vinnie's. When we are buying something in Vinnie's shops please try to put reasonable price tag on items ( although i very rarely buy something at any op shop as i have plenty of clothes). And on the other hand, when you donate something to needy people please make sure it is not damaged to the point that it cant be used and ensure it is worthy. Please !!!

Absolutely horrible!!! Do yourself a favour, never go to Vinnies Central Avenue, Oak Flats NSW!!! Prices are too high for a charity shop. Not only that. according to her the docket I provided wasn't good enough!!! Why? Because there were multiple items (all lower prices) on docket without specification! I told her it wasn't my problem that's the docket they give! When I bought this digital item, it wasn't turning on, they told me it needed new batteries and in case of not working I could get a refund as long as I had the docket, and I trusted them. The item was faulty so 2 days later, today, I go back, and the manager disputed my rights and refused the refund!!!At the end of our argument, she pathetically said the best she could do was to meet me halfway refunding me with a lower price than I paid!!! Not matching original price! Is she for real?? I told her to keep the money and the item, so I walked away disgustedly angry to never place a foot in there again!!!

I have never had a worse op shopping experience than at Vinnies Morphett Vale SA! The staff are very rude. They stand behind the counter making very judgemental and discriminatory comments about their customers as they walk into the store and don't even bother to lower their voices. It is highly offensive and I noticed it on several occasions. It… Read more

is usually directed at people from low socio-economic backgrounds (their appearance, dress, weight, 'go watch them and pretend to clean, they'll probably try stealing something' are examples of comments I have heard) but also others. I once tried to very tactfully bring this up with the manager of the store who suggested that that would never happen and implied that I was delusional. I decided to head back to this store and give it another chance and was waiting at the counter to be served. The 3 staff ignored me while they discussed how someone from head office had recently come in to talk with them about this exact issue (talking sh*t about customers) and they were laughing about it and saying why should they change. If you think I'm making any of this up, go visit them for yourself and you'll see what I mean. Very poor form, Vinnies Morphett Vale. As far as shopping experience, you find the occasional bargain there but they are few and far between. Not worth it.

Very picky about items in perfectly good order – I was disgusted when I took perfectly good, clean, expensive Tupperware items only to be told “I have to inspect first” then told we “won’t take those”to which I replied “so it’s better they go to landfill than someone that is in need use them”, she replied “yes”. I said that’s strange because everything we buy is sold in plastic. I had books as… Read more

well which she said “I have to inspect” I then told her not to bother I’d rather throw them in the bin. What an absolute disgrace. I am downsizing and have a lot to donate but will now throw every thing I have in excess in the bin including clothing, blankets and anything else will now to go to landfill rather than donate to vinnies ever again. Seems they only want the big name items and Im sorry I let her take the items she did take as I would have thrown them into landfill as well. Vinnies Kingsgrove

unaccepted behaviour towards people bringing donations – Thomastown shop today: Dropped in with a large, generous donation; one of the staff ( ? manager) approach us as we were pushing a trolly in the shop, asking in a accusatory manner, almost insulting and impolite “ what do you have there”. Too expensive for donated items – While staff are very pleasant this is now a money making business. Wuslity clothes at St peters op shop are 1 ir $2 while cheap brand clothes at vinnies are now $8 or more. Just silly. Lots of people are going elsewhere. You are no longer helping the needy.

Waste of time – Waited all day for the Van for pick up but no one showed up. not only unprofessional but it cost me a days wage. I guess that is just how they operate. Im back to Salvos but I don't want anyone else to have a similar experience so I have reluctantly posted this message. The next day I received an email saying the delivery men telephoned me several times & I didn't pick up & the next delivery is 16 Nov. I requested a screenshot of those “so called” telephone calls with my number from the delivery man. Now I have an email stating the delivery man had the wrong number. So why didn't he telephone the office to get the right mobile number? Anyways, now they state they would come this week & apologised which is sweet but too late. My husband & bro do not want them in our home. Understandably so ! We will donate our furniture, children's toys & playstation & TV to another charity along with the office monthly donation to a reliable, professional charity.

Not what they used to be – I have tried several Vinnies stores around Brisbane, Ipswich, Mackay, Gold Coast etc looking for everything from vintage doilies to womenswear to babies clothes and bedding etc. I am always left disappointed. It seems the company has lost touch with the entire point of being a thift/op shop. Springfield in QLD is especially bad. They stock only… Read more

what the owners deem worthy and refuse to stock items for babies. I was almost turned away from donating a brand new bassinet and other baby items (like clothes, blankets and cot sheets) simply because she did not want to be liable if a baby died in it (her words). In the end she accepted the bassinet and said she would use it as a display item but not to bring any more baby items as they don't stock them. I am deeply shocked.

The Pros: - Sometimes on a good day if you're lucky, you might find something you're after.

CONS: - Flat out refusing to take essential baby items because they just don't want to sell baby and kids wear?! Since when is this acceptable behaviour for an opshop? - Prices are the mostly all same if not more expensive than buying entirely new items from kmart/bigw/target. Vintage item prices are exhorbitant for the item quality and conditions. Eg stained doilies for $10-15 each!? - Selling literally hundreds upon hundreds of books and dvd's but not many toys or activities for children - Referrring again to springfield qld store specifically. - Stores rarely have enough parking making it really difficult to get into and around - Organisation is ok but could be better. - Cleanliness of items and general quality of items is appauling. They are selling badly stained, mouldy stretched out clothing, bedding, and curtains that should be in the dump. The same goes for furniture. - Ranges varies depending ont he stores it'd be great if they all stocked the same sorts of things. Not stocking baby clothing and only 1 tiny half rack of kids clothing in an opshop is a crime. Not everyone wants new or even needs new especially for things like dress ups. - Mens wear quality is always really poor. Its like the staff aren't looking over the items for stains or tears before putting them out to be sold. We accidentally bought a ripped cuff mens shirt the other week. Didn't see the tear in the cuff until I had (hand) washed it.

Very expensive – A lovely interior, clean and tidy, but....the prices are shocking for used items. I could not afford to buy a jumper, and thrift stores should not be so greedy when times are so tuff. Sure keep your 'upmarket' section, but reduce the everyday things that people need, not want!
