Hello folks,

I have one that I haven't used for a while. Batteries are fine, but temperature is showing Hi before I've put it anywhere near the meat. Thinking it might be short in the probe wire or similar. Anyone had similar?

Somewhere in the instructions that came with it, should be the procedure for doing a reset. That SHOULD fix the problem. If not, call Weber Customer Service, they will either talk you through it, OR send a replacement. The phone number and email addresses, are on the Weber Australia website.

I don't know the cost of the original thermometer as it was a gift. The new one was about $100 (have a receipt somewhere????).

i have a bar b chef remote thermometer

all bateries new will not recieve tempreture, the actual control unit , has a symbol when working properly shows that it is recieving radio waves from an another device..This symbol does show at all...... have recet many times

Am frustrated as this is a good unit. Any ideas?

It sounds like you may have a faulty one, if you got it from Weber, call them on their Customer Service number, they may be able to troubleshoot it for you, or send a replacement. I know they've moved to a double probe unit but this is the one I like. I did have a problem once, they sent me a new probe cable, the originals had low grade plastic and were melting. Weber are very BIG on customer service.

Have to agree with Jeff. Sounds like you have faulty unit and assuming it's new, in the first instance I would be talking to the retailer where you purchased it. Else talk to Weber - their customer service is very good.

By the way, how do you know the control unit is receiving a signal from "another" device? Different symbol??

We had the same issue Webber just replaced the whole unit new one is working fine

How can I get a copy of the instructions /manual?

I don't know how Kogan ended up being the site to download the instructions (I have no faith in Kogan products) but sadly that seems to be the case. I had the need to reset mine, years ago, called Weber and they talked me through it. Weber no longer sell this model (BBQs Galore now do). However, here is the Kogan download URL. external link . Failing that, I believe that the original Brand of this excellent thermometer, is Maverick.
