Being on a carnivore diet I have an occasional desire for something sweet. 'No base' cheesecakes are allowed with the use of a natural sweetener. The recommendation for use in these recipes is Monk Fruit as the sweetener. I went to the supermarket and found this product and was pleased and surprised it was so easy. HOWEVER, on arriving home… Read more

and carefully scrutinizing the ingredients I was very disappointed to find that in spite of the label stating in large print 'Monk Fruit Ultimate Sugar Replacement' which statement is in fact correct and suggesting that the contents within the container were indeed Monk Fruit BUT in comparatively very small writing under that statement were the words 'with erythritol' also suggesting that it included some small amount of erythritol. My fault that I failed to notice these small words BUT the shocker was on the ingredients list. 99% erythritol and 1% Monk Fruit. See attached photos. Now recent studies of erythritol have shown that there can be links to health issues in some people. I was avoiding any sweetener that contained erythritol, let alone a product that was 99% erythritol. I find this whole issue very unsavory and disappointing that the Whole Earth company have so little respect for their customers. We as consumers tend to believe in the honesty of the products presented for sale but in this case we were all seriously let down, not by incorrect data but by suggestion. Whole Earth is owned by the German Intersnack Group based overseas. I myself will be avoiding any further purchase of products from this company.

This product has false advertising. There is only 1% monk fruit and they label packaging as though it’s monk fruit only. The product is 99% erythritol. Packaging is deceptive. It does not taste like sugar at all and you’d need 3 teaspoons to get the sweetness of 1. Show details

"Buyer beware" this product is a sham and very misleading 99% erythritol 1% monk sugar . Past twelve months I have been getting worse with heart palpitations of 220 beats per minute. When I researched erythritol sugar i was horrified to find out that it can cause stroke and heart attack in people who already have heart conditions. Once I… Read more

It’s a Scam only 1% Monk Fruit – Disgraceful that you can call something Monk Fruit Sweetener when it’s 99% Ethrytol and only 1% Monk Fruit! What a scam, you can buy 100% Monk Fruit powder from Thankfully Nourished online. Its ingredients are 100% Monk Fruit Concentrate (Siraitia grosvenorii). More expensive, but it lasts for a very long time as it is very sweet. Woollworths should also be ashamed of themselves. Show details

False and Misleading – Less than 1% monk fruit!... 99% artificial sugar alcohol!.... so basically just another alcohol sweetener. So misleading when it is advertised as monk fruit and espouses the healing powers of it. They should be reported to the ombudsman. I basically spent $9 for a product that is falsely advertised, that I cannot use. Show details

How is this even food? – This revolting product smells like dirty tennis shoes and tastes like pond water. I can't believe it's actually sold as a product. Not only that but the pouch isn't even recyclable which saved me from tipping out the product and then recycling the pouch. I just threw the whole thing in the bin.

Do not purchase pure Erythritol not Monk Fruit at all – This product is labelled in big letter as Monk Fruit but has only 1%. I trusted the label stupidly so it seems. It is just Erythritol which I cannot stomach and has been shown to cause gastric issues in lab tests. So disappointed that Woolworth or any supplier in fact would sell this product without carefully acknowledging the obvious false… Read more

advertising. Thankfully I haven't opened the packets and will be returning them. Shocking and coming from China no less, packaged in Czech republic. What on earth.

This product is a scam 99% Erythritol with under 1% Monkfruit extract - yet called monkfruit w Erythritol – On their own website the purposely omit the ingredient quantities but on the packaging where they must state it, it displays 99% Erythritol & 1% monkfruit extract, this is deliberately misleading customers.

Ouch! Certainly not for me – This artificial sweetener does what it is supposed to do and the taste is not unpleasant, but oh boy! it gave me really, really bad heartburn. I must say I have always been prone to getting heartburn but have not experienced it in a long time due to medication I am now taking. HOWEVER ... I had a break-through occurrence with this product immediately after my very first use in a morning coffee.
