Terrible customer service and terrible subscription model. When expressing disappointment in my experience I didn’t even get a response from a human. Their customer service department is AI…. Will not be recommending to anyone and if anything will be steering people away from the brand

Very frustrating experience. I paid for a service, and after a dispute process, I ended up losing both my money and access to the service. Let that sink in — I paid, and got absolutely nothing in return. Customer support basically said their hands are tied because the bank made a decision, which leaves me stuck with the loss. That’s not… Read more

acceptable. A company should stand behind its customers, not hide behind a bank decision.

Offering to “reactivate” the account doesn’t fix the problem when I already paid and lost that money.

I would not recommend unless you’re okay taking the risk of losing your money with no real resolution.

I bought a woop in April2025 I was al excited to use it and it was worth all the hype UNTILL the battery stopped charging device 2months into subscription. I then was leaving to go on a 6 week trip around the world and was unable to have a replacement sent to me in time so the sadly woop stayed home. When I got back I wasn’t interested in… Read more

tracking my sleep or recovery (those are the only two things it does) anymore and I just lost interest in the device. Now I forgot where I put my charger pack so it’s lost and now I’m contemplating whether it’s worth the $64 to get a replacement. If it didn’t break two months into owning it and I didn’t go nearly two months without it I still would thing it was the bees knees but I don’t.

Please avoid this product. It is the worst health tracker in the world. The customer support is awful, and do not fall for their trial system—they will definitely take your money after a few days

WHOOP refused to honour their upgrade promise – avoid! I’ve been a member of WHOOP since Jan 2024 under the clear promise that after 6 months of membership, I’d get a free upgrade to their next-gen device. After months of silence, delays, and… Read more

AI-generated support replies, WHOOP finally admitted they changed the policy and would not honour it—despite it being the reason I signed up.

They’ve offered a partial refund or late upgrade, but that doesn’t fix the misleading advertising or poor customer service. I’ve now going to lodge a complaint with Fair Trading and other consumer authorities and encourage you to do the same for misleading advertising etc.

Be warned: WHOOP overpromises and under-delivers.

Follow-up  · Have heard nothing back from WHOOP since. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I will never buy or recommend their product again. I’m surprise WHOOP’s Google review rating has only gone down to 2.1/5 over the last year. Wouldn’t be surprised if there was a class legal court case against WHOOP. I’ve moved on to an Oura Ring which is much better.

Whoop support is terrible. I recently had issues with my whoop 4.0 and had to contact support twice. Each time useless AI suggests useless troubleshooting. They asked for photos of how I was wearing the device, even through that had nothing to do with my issues (which were syncing between whoop and app). Anyway, I thought maybe paying to upgrade… Read more

to a Whoop 5.0 would solve these issues. Nope. The thing has arrived and completely died in less than 24 hours! Turns out I'm not the only one - heaps of similar stories on Reddit and the Whoop forums. So now I need to go through the moronic support process again. I think this time I'll just get a refund and move on to a different device. Other issues:

- subscription model not cost effective over time

- app is very challenging to navigate now that > 50% of some screen real estate is taken up with ads for premium whoop (MG / Life). I'm already paying a subscription, I don't want your ads!

I’ve been a member of Whoop since August 11 2023. I signed up because I loved the idea that I can get a new device for free when they release a new one which appealed to me over Apple devices or Garmins. I like the whoop’s sleep data but its battery life is poor as it lasts a few days and data uploads when disconnected from the app if signal is… Read more

lost take a long time.

Now they’ve released the new whoop 5.0 they’ve DELETED the following on their website that said “Just like other memberships, WHOOP is committed to releasing new and regular updates constantly without requiring the purchase or use of a new device: All updates are available within the app for all members to enjoy. Additionally, instead of purchasing new hardware every time an updated model is produced, WHOOP members receive the next-generation device for free after having been a member for six months or more.”

One of the worst parts about this beyond the obvious broken promise of free upgrades is that if you cancel with any time left (I've got 4 months remaining) they don't pro-rata refund and they instantly block data going from the whoop to your account so the whoop becomes useless. They must be hoping people set a reminder to cancel the day before renewal then forget and get billed another 12 months. I couldn't be more disgusted.

It's an average device with poor battery, overpriced accessories, slow upload times and limited functionality compared to other devices. The free upgrade was the main thing that kept me hanging in there. Reminds me of the new black mirror episode of the continual required upgrades and the company continually changing the goal posts.

I recently signed up for WHOOP’s one-month free trial, thinking it would only cost me $16.99 AUD for shipping, which I was okay with. But here's where things go downhill fast. Upon closer inspection (in the tiniest print imaginable), I found out that you have to pay for the return shipping. Annoying, but whatever, I could deal with that. The real… Read more

kicker? If you don’t return the device, a 12-month membership automatically kicks in, charging you $249 USD — which is around $350 AUD. That’s absolutely insane and completely unreasonable.

Despite my frustration, I decided to be rational and cancel the order less than 30 minutes after I placed it. I contacted their support, and what do I get? An AI-generated response telling me they can’t cancel the order and that I need to receive the package first, then pay to send it back for a refund. Let me emphasize this: I reached out before they even started processing the order.

Here’s the first AI-generated response I received:

Hi Maxie, Thank you for reaching out. Since your order hasn't been processed or shipped yet, we aren't able to cancel the order at this moment. However, you can reach back out once you receive your package to initiate a return and refund within your trial period. I appreciate your understanding and am here to help if you need further assistance! Best, WHOOP Membership Services

I wasn’t satisfied with this nonsense and asked to speak to a real person. What do they do? They parrot the same message again, practically AI-generated:

Hi Maxie, Thank you for contacting WHOOP Support! We’re happy to assist. I'm sorry to hear that you no longer wish to continue your membership with WHOOP 4.0. Once an order has been placed, we are unable to make any changes to it. Therefore, I am unable to cancel your order. In order for us to process a refund you need to wait and return first your WHOOP 4.0. I'm looking forward to hearing back from you! Best, WHOOP Support Team whoop.com

They are flat-out refusing to cancel an order that hasn't even been processed. They are insisting I accept the delivery, which I don’t want, and then pay out of my own pocket to send it back. This is hands down the worst customer service experience I've ever had with any company.

WHOOP is supposedly a big-name fitness company, but their refund policy is nothing short of a scam designed to squeeze money out of their customers. And the most infuriating part? You can buy the same wristband they're offering in the so-called “free trial” on Amazon for $379 AUD, including hardware and a battery pack.

This company is running a disgusting money-grab operation, pretending to care about fitness while trapping unsuspecting customers in expensive subscriptions with terrible support. I will never shop with WHOOP again, and I will actively discourage everyone I know from wasting their time and money on this rip-off of a company.

You'll be saying WHOOP! When you return it – Whoop is one of the worst consumer electronics experiences I've ever had. The app is full of bugs and extremely hard to set up. The subscription model is extremely expensive and unnecessary. The device itself is extremely feature poor and it's accurate see at biometrics have been demonstrated to be terrible. In fact I believe it's being run almost… Read more

as a scam. They have numerous predatory and exploitative business practises such as charging exorbitant fees for tiny things that you can't avoid. For example, after submitting a return request you have three days to return the wearable otherwise you get a $204 fine, which is obscene. All of their resources are going towards paying influences to wear them which is resulted in a terrible product and a terrible company.

Beware of the subscription fee – My son was sucked into to signing up to a ‘free’ trial advertised by WHOOP. However, the very fine print is that the years subscription is close to $300! We immediately emailed them to cancel the order (which hadn’t yet been shipped) and they refused. So he had to wait until the device arrived and then pay an $11 return free as well as the initial… Read more

shipping cost which was around $20. To return the item you also had to download the app first and go through a convoluted process. Avoid this company!

I got a free trial and I've continued with it on a yearly subscription – Use this code on signup and we each get 1 month free: 747405 The data my Whoop gives me is far superior to that of the many smart watches/trackers I've tried, including Apple Watch, Pixel Watch, Garmin and Fitbit. The new AI feature in the app is amazing! Well worth the subscription price. I can see myself using my Whoop for a long time to come, especially because they will update the hardware for free with each release!

Their Free/Cheap Trials are a SCAM – Their product Trial offers are a scam to continue syphoning money from your account. They did a $10 trial, then after the trial my partner and I sent the watches back and they charged us $380 for a subscription each. Then we had to argue to get it cancelled because they kept trying to charge our cards. Now, months after we gave the devices back,… Read more

they’re trying to charge us $65 each for ‘lost batteries’ but we didn’t lose the batteries, it was all sent back using their free return shipping.

It’s an absolute scam.
