I want to warn everyone about this company's fraudulent practices. They use free trials and plugins as a trap, whether they offer a 7-day, 14-day, or 30-day money-back guarantee. They operate through their wax partner to scam people, misleading users with false promises of refunds. When you speak to customer support, they claim there is no refund… Read more

Wix sets to automatically renew your subscription. WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION. I've been a customer for over 15 years. They have NEVER automatically renewed my subscription without my permission. They doubled the price of my plan from $200 to $450. I called and canceled my plain, asked for a refund. They said I was outside the 14 days after renewal… Read more

for getting a refund. I was charged on Saturday, called them on Monday. That is within the 14 days. I will be filling a report with the Better Business Bureau and filing a lawsuit against them. STAY AWAY FROM WIX.

It is the worst experience I have ever had. I canceled my account two years ago, yet you are still charging my card. There is no way to file a proper complaint, you only deal with a bot that refuses to resolve anything. I will never see my money back, even though I did not want or use this service.

Wix advertises being able to add buffer times after treatments to the calander this is NOT TRUE THEY DO NOT OFFER THIS SERVICE OR FEATURE. Buffer times do NOT physically come up in your booking calander, which means staff need to now the individual buffer times for different treatments and manually add them in each time which is a huge pain when… Read more

people book online. Buffer times only work for CLIENTS viewing available booking times online, and does NOT account for blocked times, so if you have meetings or put in people's lunches, online treatments/accompanying buffer times will be able to be booked DURING these. Customer service was hopeless in the extreme and after speaking to four different people the shift supervisor finally admitted this wasn't a feature they offered and would have to do coding in order to implement it. Absolute disgrace to advertise a feature and not actually have it.

I have been a long-time user of Wix. I am getting spammed daily by 3/4 people claiming to be WIX Legend Professional or Partner. Wix is selling my details and permitting suppliers who pay to join the WIX partner program to contact me and most say that they are contacting me as requested by WIX, it's total [Content Removed] and WIX is being unethical selling access to WIX user accounts and details.

Absolutely disgusting. This website was the biggest pain to use. Not only would it glitch in hideous ways, the confusion on getting around on this website was draining. DO NOT GET WIX unless you wish to have a miserable time. If you'd like to have an actual good quality website, get any other website maker app. It HAS to be better than this. This monstrosity is extremely unacceptable.

Absolutely do whatever you can to avoid them. They get you in and then each year they put up their prices exorbitant. They also invoice you in advance and then they release promotions after you have already upgraded. Then to get a refund or change plan, they take up to 12 days to approve it and by this time, the promotion has finished. Small… Read more

Extortional price hike – Extortion. From $214 introductory for 2 years to $650. We will be looking for a new web hosting service.

Follow-up  · Now, two years on the price has again been hiked to $840. That's a 14% per annum hike, or 3x CPI. Once they have you locked in, prepare to be screwed over.

response is so pathetic more like criminal- can not even rate the level of DO NOT EXPECT HELP FROM US. it is horrific to put your business calendar in their hands- think twice. wix I pay you - i am your customer - you disgust me every time- 48 hours after begging for help ZERO RESPONSE

Follow-up  · Wix do not facilitate fast responses for technical issues that require IT or developer intervention and there typical responses are ridiculous over all. usually the email responses you get from the back end staff have zero to do with your issue. this leads to long waits and respectively telling them what the issue is. Auto-renew - reimbursed after explaining I'm not using the service – I signed up 12+ months ago because I was planning to start a business. I didn't start that business. The plan was renewed recently, and an email was sent to remind me of auto-renewal (I missed it). I reached out to them to explain that I didn't use the service and had no future plans to. They reimbursed the renewal. In 2024, auto-renewals can be a pain. However, I thank Wix for considering my circumstances and reimbursing the cost.

Pretty good for beginners to get a fairly advanced site going – The wix builder is quite slow and a bit fiddly but it did allow me to build a half-decent website with no coding knowledge. Wix SEO is also very easy to use and good for users with no prior understanding of SEO to cover off all the main tasks that will help the site rank in organic search.

4-year Wix Premium customer here. Originally signed up in April 2022, moved to a yearly plan on 24 May 2022, and the plan has renewed every May since. On 5 May 2026 Wix charged my card $504 for the next 12 months, 19 days before the actual renewal date of 24 May. That charge also included an unannounced 27% price increase from the $396 I'd paid in… Read more

2024 and 2025. What I find hard to accept is that Wix's own support article on payment after cancellation states that "the renewal date for a yearly Premium or Studio plan is 14 days before the anniversary of the original purchase date." My anniversary is 24 May, so per Wix's own policy the renewal should have processed on 10 May. Both my previous renewals in 2024 and 2025 happened on 10 May, exactly matching the policy. The 2026 renewal jumped that date by 5 days for no stated reason. I contacted Wix support via chat within an hour of being charged. I asked them to either reverse the charge or switch me to monthly billing. Both were refused. I then submitted their Special Circumstances Refund Request and was told it would take 45 business days (around 9 weeks) for someone to respond. That's longer than the chargeback window with most Australian card issuers. The amount isn't huge but the principle is poor. Charging earlier than your own stated policy, increasing the price without prior notice, and then quoting a refund response time that exceeds card scheme dispute windows is the kind of thing a long-term customer doesn't forget. Will happily update this review if Wix's Special Circumstances team can resolve it.

I would give zero stars if possible. Do not give Wix your actual credit card. They operate a legalized billing trap. Their product is mediocre. Their billing practices are actively hostile. They bury a clause in their terms allowing them to charge your card up to 30 days before your actual renewal date. They claim this is for "uninterrupted… Read more

service." That is a lie. It is designed solely to trap customers who plan to cancel before their term actually ends.

I cancelled my auto-renewal. Their own system sent me an email confirming it was turned off. Hours later, they bypassed the cancellation and charged my bank anyway.

When you confront them with timestamped proof, their support team reads from a script of deflections. They blame "bank processing delays." They hide behind fake "security protocols" to avoid looking at evidence. They will happily charge a credit card across different linked accounts but refuse to discuss the billing fraud unless you email from the specific account they targeted.

Even leaving their ecosystem is a nightmare. I currently have a domain transfer that I paid for sitting in a "pending" state for four months. They make it deliberately difficult to leave.

If you are forced to use Wix, generate a temporary virtual credit card with a strict limit. They will try to take your money early. They will ignore your cancellations. Build your business on a platform that retains users through a great product. Wix relies on trapping you. Avoid them entirely.

I had a very disappointing experience with Wix. They renewed my subscription automatically without any clear reminder or confirmation from my side. you didn’t intend to continue.

Customer support was not helpful in resolving the issue, which made the situation even worse.

I strongly recommend others to double-check their subscription settings and be cautious with auto-renewal on Wix. This experience has completely affected my trust in their service.

I would give 0 if I could. They auto renewed our package ( which we asked not to do so) charged us $2300 and we asked for refund they didn’t give to us. They then ignored all our emails for this. I’m also cancelling my other 3 subscriptions with them simply because they aren’t looking after their customers.

This website program is a ripoff and very hard to navigate. I would not use this site again. They are incredibly difficult to contact (they don't want you to contact them when there's a problem). Added to the above they continue to charge your credit card when you have cancelled the service and REFUSE to refund the money they have stolen ! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !

Appalling experience. They took $660 from my account because of the auto renew setting that they confirm they place on websites. No right to refund but they have relented only taking over two months to send it. Heartless business model.

By the way guys Wix just purchased Base44 so another unauthorised scam coming couldn't get my $500 back account went from $16 to $500 bank can't help it went through PayPal and they said it was authorised. If they had sent 1 reminder I would have removed it straight away and you can't contact any one at Wix

Wix is poorly suited to Australia and is unethical. unauthorised payments. The first one I got the bank fraud department to get returned, but they keep doing it and refuse to delete my account. Ir remove my card.

Most recent payment was an expired credit card date with the wrong CCV. Westpac or St George still allowed the payment, and more money was taken.

St George did not investigate why they paid a claim on an expired card with wrong ccv and I did not get a refund.

Wix said that they did nothing wrong by taking payments on an account with revoked authority.

Wix will not allow me to close my account or remove my card as I have an active subscription, yes the subscription that they stole the money for, on an account they were told to close years ago.

I have reported everything and provided proof, but save yourself the drama and avoid Wix or just let them take your money for nothing in return without consent.

I am a website developer for small business. I was contacted by a client who had asked a relative (N) to build him a website, trying to save money (which is fair enough). legacy (non-Studio) Wix builder. My client wasn't happy with it and asked me to "fix" what had been done.

I found the Wix builder to be ridiculously clunky, and the results really horrible even after a LOT of time spent wrangling it. So I built a replacement site in the newer Wix Studio. It was easier, but still way too complicated. What most people don't realise is that websites need to look good at three different sets of screen widths. But for layout you build at one screen size, Wix does incredibly weird things with it at other screen sizes that just don't make sense. You can spend hours trying to do something really simple that in WordPress (using Elementor, Avada, Divi etc.) would take a few minutes.

Then we found that to publish this site, it was even more expensive than the legacy builder – hundreds more dollars of outlay to be stuck with a clunky website system. Which means a lot of hours charged to do simple things – even more money. And this is Wix's ADVANCED, EXPENSIVE builder. It really is not worth the money, and you cannot get it back.

We have decided to write off my client's Wix membership because it's cheaper to rebuild his site in the transportable, fast and flexible system that is WordPress (not on WordPress.com which is very limited). I was quite open to learning about another web system and I'm good at figuring stuff out. But I say, do NOT use Wix – I don't understand how anyone realistically can.

The old renewal scam. They attempted a premium renewal that was complimentary last year. My bank refunded, they stopped service then resubmitted payment through paypay credit. Will not refund and still dont even have the service. Bad business practice. Stick with competetors. Terrible company values and service. They put the ICE in service.

Wix is not designed to cope with the needs of a professional restaurant. It's flaws can cost your business a lot of money: 1. I've had several instances where customers are unable to book becasue the venue is showing as 'full' online, despite almost every table being available (this one costs you a LOT in loss of bookings!) 2. You're supposed… Read more

to receive a confirmation text with each booking but this doesn't always happen (I regularly test this) 3. Many customers have reported difficulty with booking: when they fill in the booking form it never completes the booking, it just keeps looping around to the start of the booking process. 4. The pre-payment feature takes a pre-payment as opposed to just taking a pre-authorisation like most other hospitality venues, which can upset guests and deter them from booking again.

The other thing is that it's so hard to get a hold of support and to get any issues resolved.

I am on a Light plan. Now they want to increase this plan by over 30%. When I complain, they point me to the term basically saying they don't care. The new pricing doesn't increase features in any way. You pay to use the tools the first time and they continue to charge this usage on an annual basis with costs they admit are considerable. So angry that they think they can trap you on a dependency. TIme to look for an alternative

Worst company I have dealt with. I was led to their website after using Vistaprint where it asked me if I wanted to register a domain. I needed to, so I thought I might as well. Worst decision I made. After I registered my domain, I decided to create my website. But I could not. Because it states that I need to upgrade my plan in order to do so.… Read more

Information that would have been handy BEFORE I paid for a domain. And the best part. While in the process of registering my domain, The system asks if I would like to "add on" a privacy feature that protects my domain against unauthorised attacks and keeps things private etc. etc. It's a security item to keep my domain safe. It's called DNSSEC. It is "recommended" by Wix that you purchase this feature. For safety online. Then after you do so and part with your money, if you attempt to create a website using Wix, it states that their system does not or cannot support DNSSEC and it must be disabled in order to create a website. So they actually recommend to you that you should buy a feature for your own benefit that you cannot even use on their site anyway. Can you believe this? How this company is allowed to operate, I have no idea. Imagine pushing your customer onto a product that cannot be used anyway. What a joke. Oh, and of course they cannot refund our money. Despite the fact they mislead you and cheat you, they won't refund your money. Steer clear of these criminals. Take your business anywhere else. Just don't use Wix. You will regret it.
