Womo Mini Inline Filter

Great potential, terrible durability and even worse support. I purchased the WOMOmini filtration system about six months ago, hoping for a reliable long-term solution. Unfortunately, it has been anything but. The Issue: Just two weeks after professional installation, the system began leaking. The Support Experience: I have been trying to resolve this under warranty for nearly six months. The communication has been incredibly slow and circular.
The Current Status: A month ago, I was told my case was "forwarded to management." I have followed up since then to ask for an update, but I’ve received total radio silence.
It is disappointing to see a company stand behind their product so poorly. A filtration system is a "set it and forget it" appliance; having to chase management for months just to get a functional unit is unacceptable.
Bottom line: Buy at your own risk. If you receive a faulty unit, don’t expect a quick (or even a standard) resolution.
Purchased in at WOMO Pty Ltd for $306.70.
Purchased the product on the basis it was a travelling portable in line water filter for caravans and was capable of filtering up to 35,000 litres per filter. The filter inside can also be replaced rather than the whole unit. It is specifically sold on the basis travellers can use it around Australia. Please note there is condition that the capacity and life is based on water quality. I purchased the unit and travelled from Tasmania to Darwin via the Red Centre. Through necessity there were about 6 occasions where I hooked up to treated bore water knowing it may impact on the life span. In Darwin the water pressure dropped to a trickle and it was clearly a filter issue. I contacted WOMO and explained the situation. I specifically asked about bore water. The advice I received was, ‘… filtering bore water is not recommended. Cartridge performance figures are indicative for mains water only, which depends on water quality.’ ‘…due to high level of contaminants in bore water, the filter will block prematurely.’ ‘…Please use filter for mains water only, as mains water is regulated and tested to comply with water safety standards.’ WOMO advised me if I was using a water source other than recommended for the product the cartridge life is significantly reduced and any damage resulting from it would be accounted as misuse of the product. Now, I’m no rocket scientist but if mains water is regulated and tested to comply with Australian standards then in essence it’s….potable? I should therefore only have connected the water filter to potable water? Nowhere on their website does WOMO say not to connect to bore water, nor do they stipulate users should only connect to mains water that is regulated and tested - just that water quality will impact on life of the filter. Also, I cannot find a product review function on their website…or a search function. So, if I have to connect to mains water that is regulated and tested to Australian standards, then the WOMO is next to useless for travellers in remote or outback areas with access only to bore water.
