Waited to get our gas heater working again, but very happy with the end result – Our gas heater stopped working during winter and we had to wait more than 5 weeks to get it serviced which was inconvenient, but it’s working well again now and really warms up the main part of the house, special thanks to Will. We've since been advised that a factory upgrade is not required from the NZ manufacturer (ASEA).

unprofessional conduct – My gas log-fire would not stay alight so I paid the $250 service fee for a visit to check what was going on. The "tradesman" who came was rude and uncooperative. However the gas cooker and the gas instantaneous hot water service off the same regulator have never faulted. Nevertheless we had the gas meter/regulator replaced and the gas log-fire remained inoperative. It obviously was not the problem. So with written complaints to Woodpecker remaining unaddressed after 6 weeks I took independent advice from a retired gas plumber and tackled the job myself. I watched a couple of Youtube clips on why the gas flame goes out and within one hour of my laymans work the gas logfire was fixed and fully operational. Requests for compensation of the charge-out fee also remain unaddressed by Woodpecker. I would never recommend using their services to anyone.
Be careful of the costs and the returns policy – We were charged 30% restocking fee which cost us $800. adjust the door ! So inpaid the installer to adjust the door and he advised me that the door was adjusted to the Max! So the door catches the draft bar at the bottom! Still And Leaving us no other solution !
Then we have the problem of the fire just takeing off as the air is comming in from the door is fighting! Max burning time for hard wood is 3 hours ! I have been in contact with wood pecker to fix the problem and I have sent them an email 8 days ago with no reply !! So there is zero help or warranty problem after paying 8k + shipping for a wood heater ! Speck sheet said the steel thickness was 9 mm and its only 4mm ! Over night burn is suspose to be 8 to 10 hours Max 3.5 hours I do hope wood pecker fix this problem and I can change my review! As we just want to return the heater as its a terrible product! And we are afraid it will burn down the house as we can show the fire down!!!

No response – After phoning and also entering Woodpecker store in Mornington with no satisfactory response back I sort another company’s service which I was totally satisfied with them. I found Woodpecker’s lack of service very poor .
Very Poor Customer Service – In 2018 we purchased 2 gas log fires from Woodpecker, Oakleigh. In 2020 we purchased a Napolean BBQ from them. So we have been excellent customers for them. So it is disappointing that you report an issue to them and they do not follow up on what they say they will do. we have with one of the log fires. It is not a fault in the appliance as such, but the fire blows out on excessively windy days. On at least 3 occasions we have visited the shop in person to discuss the problem. On the last occasion we spoke to the same person who we had spoken to before and he undertook to put in a service request to the company who supplied the fireplace (Jetmaster). He was unable to do it when we were there but said he would follow up. This didn't happen so I went through woodpecker's website to raise a service request. Nothing heard. I then called and was advised that sometimes the requests don't get through because they go through their Mornington store. So we gave the name of the person we had been speaking with and the fellow said he would get him to ring us. Again nothing heard. This is appalling service for people who have been great customers. I am not going to call them again and it is the last time we set foot in their shop.
