ALDI Workzone 20V Air Pump
Verified6 reviews
I bought the ALDI Workzone 20V Air Pump and at first it was excellent. Inflation was fast and efficient, the battery made it very portable, and the digital pressure readout was easy to read. It handled car tires, sports balls and small inflatables… Read more
quickly and reliably.
Unfortunately the air hose cracked at the fitting. The pump uses an unusual, non‑standard hose connection and I have been unable to find a replacement hose or adapter that fits. Because of that single cheap part failure the entire unit is now unusable even though the motor and electronics still work perfectly. I’m disappointed that a single proprietary fitting forces me to discard a compressor that otherwise performs well.
Pros:
Fast inflation Portable — battery powered Clear digital pressure readout Cons:
Non‑standard hose fitting (no replacement available) Hose failure renders the whole unit unusable Difficult or impossible to repair without a custom part
I can not recommend any Work Zone Titanium products in Australia, because of the lack of spare parts availability
Follow-up · I had to throw the Aldi inflator in the bin. Nothing wrong with the device, just a leaking hose that was not available to purchase anywhere
Lasted a couple of years – Worked great for a year, probably pumped up a few dozen tyres, got a lot of use for my ride-on mower needing several tyres pumped up for every use. Started becoming fussy and intermittent, front LED would illuminate for half a second when you hit the power button, no display, no function. Then it would work fine. Now it’s permanently doing that.… Read more
Have tried with 2,4 and 8Ah battery’s. I might have to hack it, mechanically it’s fine.
Edit just to say that yes, i did attempt to turn the battery on if that was the issue. It was the electronics at fault in the air gun.
Well, I never knew – I just got my Aldi air pump out that I have had for years and had been having trouble with it getting it to work so I was going to buy a new one. I just thought I’d do a review on them so I’d buy the correct one when I found the reviews on here. The first review I looked at said everything I needed to know. He was having the exact same trouble as… Read more
I was having with my old one and had found a work around. It seems all you have to do is press the battery charge indicator and Walla! away she goes. The best review ever! It works great for small volume stuff like bike tyres, mower tyres and the like.
Turn it on how – The instructions say to press “power/mode” button “ 15” . BUT that only works sometimes! I found to turn it on you have to press the battery power level indicator button first. Show details
pumps up but – I own 25 odd hire trailers and thought it might be easier than using the air compressor an 20m air hose but its so slow to go from say 30psi to 40psi takes at least a minute. checking 4 light truck tyres on a car trailer to 45psi will be close to 10minutes . I wouldn't buy another one. if I had known how slow it was I wouldn't have brought it. but… Read more
I will hang on to it as I only had to buy the skin as I already had the battery and charger with one of there drill packs.
Good for small tyre jobs – I thought I'd place a review here because when I searched the WWW there was nearly no information about this product. Here is the information Aldi should have posted on the catalogue. 20V D.C. (Xfinity battery) Has Digital LCD pressure gauge with blue backlight. Has Front LED light. Has Pressure adjustable automatic cutoff at user set point… Read more
or manual operation.
Max pressure 8 Bar / 120 PSI
Maximum operating time 5 minutes
Weight 0.8kg
Also they should state the air flow rate in liters per minute to be really useful, but alas it's not even in the user manual...
I bought one regardless as it's cheap enough to try out anyway.
Turns out it's not bad for small tyres. It fills bike tyres in about a minute, gokart tyres in less than that, sack truck and wheel barrow tyres etc all very quick and easy also.
The valve connector on the hose is OK, connects firmly and stays connected fine (some cheap ones don't do this well).
Auto-fill works fine but you need to click the trigger once after the fill to abort the auto function.
Trigger is very light, nice click response from it.
The gauge reads close enough to be useful, I make it to within 2PSI of my other digital gauges, but they are not of high quality anyway so it might actually be better than that.
It's very slow on filling large tyres like I expected for a small pump. A 17" passenger car tyre takes a full minute to make an extra 1PSI from a 35PSI starting point. So I would not use this to replace a larger air compressor for that job. However for the many small tyres I have on various things it's fine and saves taking them to the big compressor or the big compressor out to them...
