good price – It is generally accurate. But the central part is so easy to fall out, and I lost it after half year of use. Such a pity. I recommend to stick together.

Not exactly all excellent, but not bad either – I got the first version of this band 2 years ago, played around with it for some time before losing it. It was cheap and I used it as a tool to measure my performance. The second version comes with a pulse meter, and even though it does not come with high accuracy, it is still able to reflect my relative status in the day, and better support my… Read more

sleep, so I'm grateful enough to have it. The design is also improved from the first version, not easily get loose like the previous one any more. All in all, a cheap and efficient product.

With a reasonably good amount of features, a… Read more

Cheap And Works Great With Third Party App – Great device, especially for the price. For 1/10th of the other cheapest wearable trackers out there with heart rate monitoring, it has the most minor short comings that can be ignored for the price as it works great and there’s barely a difference in results. It syncs with Google Fit and the band is nice and discrete – not bulky at all. I can… Read more

actually wear it for sleep tracking.

Continuous heart rate monitoring can be set up using the third party app Mi Band Tools (the basic Mi Fit app doesn’t have this capability) as well as multiple vibration notification patterns. Once this is set-up, it’s the same as other fitness trackers, just with details spread across 2 apps. As it can over count steps, I just upped my daily goal. And sure, it doesn’t display results on the device, but I’m happy to save $130 to look at my mobile for results and the time.

If you don’t set up continuous heart rate monitoring, the battery life goes into weeks, otherwise I easily get 2 days out of it which I don’t mind considering the information I get.

Probably the biggest problem is that there are so many counterfeits out there, it’s completely destroying the reputation of the device. I’m amazed that unlike other companies, Xiaomi doesn’t have easy-to-find instructions to work out where to buy products online legitimately, and also an online method of checking serial numbers for counterfeits. Counterfeits are easy to spot once they’re purchased – they won’t sync with the Mi Fit or Mi Band Tools apps, and don’t have “designed by Xiaomi” on the band or “Mi” on the device – but no wonder there’s so many bad reviews, as people have to buy it to find out it’s fake.

So yes, it’s a great device that works great, and only minor shortcomings that can be very easily ignored due to the price. But of course, the counterfeits are rubbish, so if you see heaps of bad reviews, it’s usually because it’s a counterfeit.
