We bought the Yakima Flod Click 2 retail $1000.00 on advise to use on our tow ball hitch After only 10 uses mixed long and short travel it has broken 4 times and isnt fit for Australian conditions the hoop mount is poorly designed and only fixed by 2 x m8 bolts which fail continually 3x The Lugs sheared out 1x Became stuck and locked on tow ball 1x The hoop is not welded as other units are? such as just click 2 The rack was used only on Australian bitumen highway surface We were then told we were over using it ? Although they remedied the poorly designed continual broken hoop mount and sheared lug problems We wouldnt recommend The Yakima tow ball bike racks They are not suited to Australian conditions and should but dont meet the demands for any trip, long or short!

Buyer be ware - Not Fit for Purpose – Purchased the rack late last year and have returned it twice as the lights don't work and blow my passenger side brake light each time it's plugged in. After three attempts I took my car to an auto electrician to just double check it wasn't the car (mind you my boat and car trailer both work fine!) only to be advised that as my car (2015 Land Rover Discovery) has LED lights and the bike rack has iridescent globes, the rack draws too much power which is why the brake lights on the car keep cutting out and the brake lights on the rack do not work. The only way to rectify the issues it have LED lights on the rack also. The advice I've received so far is that the rack is not available with LED lights.

Apparently this will occur on any new vehicle from about 2015 that has LED lights. So far I've just been told the issue must be with my car as Yakima has never had an issue like this before, which I find very hard to believe.

Interestingly, my boat and car trailer both have LED lights on them and they are fine.

I'm still in discussions with 99 Bikes who I purchased it from, so this is still a work in progress.

Purchased in at 99 Bikes QLD for $1,049.

Won’t fit Subaru tow bar – After trying to fit to my car for a period of time looking at YouTube clips finally discovered the Subaru tow hitch mount won’t allow the rack to seat down all the way, see photo of the gussets where the rack hits. Had to purchase an after market tow hitch.

Purchased in for $850.

The concept is great – Bought November 2021, the concept sounded great of folding lights, and fold carrier up to take off and fold down to tighten. Started off well. Then after two months could not get it to tighten on the towball without tilting forwards. I didn’t use it for two or three months, then tried again, still same issue. Looked for instructions and found using silicone spray on certain points. Followed that and it appeared to help. Then the clip for foldout lights broke. I thought to email Yakima and their response and help has been exceptional and I now have a functional carrier. Yakima has great customer service. But I think for the money I spent I ought not to have had any of this angst to begin with. I could not recommend this bike carrier.

Purchased in for $850.
