Fantastic clock radio! – Gave this clock radio to my husband for his birthday, more pricey than I would normally pay for a clock radio, however it is well worth the money. It looks great, doesn't take up too much space on the bedside table and the sound is excellent!
Great sound for its size – If you don't have an iPhone or android, you'll be spending 200 bucks for a clock radio that may or not receive radio reception depending on where you live. I get virtually no am reception and very poor FM even from my local station 10 miles away! It's redeeming qualities for me are the Bluetooth feature allowing me to streem music and adjust the bass, midrange, treble, and volume from my phone. Surprisingly good sound from a small unit. Looks good on my desk as long as I keep the cheap looking FM antenna tucked away. Nice deep red color looks like leather. For 200 bucks, it better give me 5+ years of service.
Love it – Bought this from Catch of the day, and i love it. Costs way more than your average alarm clock, but i like it as a desk top radio, play my smartphone play lists. Does what i want. The speakers are fine, dont expect anything youd expect from a midi system but it does away with any tinniness that comes with smaller cheap speakers. Well built, only the antenna ive bent already- i reckon it couldve been more sturdier. I charge my phone with its usb slot and i use the phone app. I love mine, ive had no issues with it and ive had it now for a year.
Not what I was hoping from Yamaha!! – Well I was looking for a more up market Clock Radio and did my research. I decided on a Yamaha TSX-B72. I should have realised that being an FM Clock Radio that the sound would not be as good as Digital but I went ahead anyway. A Highly Priced Clock Radio considering it doesn't have Digital. RRP $330 - I found it from Todd's Hi Fi in QLD for $229 including delivery (Which turned out to be extremely FAST and they provided GREAT Service). I knew it had an extension aerial rather than the typical wire - but I wasn't prepared for just how bad this would be!! I found that to get an FM Channel (I live in Rural Vic) with reasonable sound that I had to extend the aerial fully and on an angle - and it made the whole clock radio look unsightly and crowded - and in my opinion UGLY!! I have decided to use this Expensive piece of technology without the radio - and only use it for an alarm clock with only the alarm going off in the morning - not happy!! It is Bluetooth and I can program the alarm via my iphone but I am really disappointed that I can't use the radio - and have just payed $229 for basically an alarm clock!! I was under the impression that YAMAHA were a reputable company with a good budget for research - but quite obviously this has not extended to their clock radios. They do LOOK GOOD but really that's where it ends!! Don't waste your money (Like I did) and avoid the same disappointment that I have just experienced!! I bought the red one - there is also green and white. Next time I will be more careful before I trust in a Company just because of their name!! Hope this helps others avoid the same mistakes that I made.
