Not Fit For Purpose – These "fireproof" bags are sold on eBay by Wellsome and other suppliers. The outer shell appears to resist heat. However, the zipper melts with minimal heat and the zipper string is highly combustible. Further the vinyl lining of the bag begins to smoke and melt almost immediately under relatively low temperature direct heat. We tested the bag on a common kitchen gas stove and within 30 seconds the zipper and liner started to emit toxic fumes and to melt. Completely unsafe and unfit for purpose. The supplier did not argue when a refund was requested.
