Poor quality plastic bento – Plastic bento is poor quality, rather spend an extra 20 or 30 and get a stainless steel one from ecococoons or similar. The seal peeled off and there's gross glue under it. Cleaning is a pain. Even in dishwasher, gunk accumulates in the corners. Latch broke. Reached out to customer care and just passed warranty period so there was no choice to return.

This incredible lunchbox lasted 8 years! – From the first day of kindy in 2016 to the last day of year 6 in 2023. This trusty little lunch box went off to school full of goodies. A broken latch in year 2 was a small setback, but a new $5 latch and it was off and running again. I was always naughty putting it in the bottom of the dishwasher, but the worst to happen was losing the name… Read more

sticker. It has sadly been retired as it's apparently not cool enough for high school. However, my youngest daughter's yumbox is 5 years old and will be put to work for for another 3 years. Well worth the investment!

Received Damaged YumBox from Indy – I purchased over $150 in 1 transaction. Received items and one of the yumboxes is damaged. Emailed Indy with photos and im accused of putting in dishwasher and no replacement! Disgusting service! And now from reading reviews seems to be a low quality bento box!

mould accumulates easily – Difficult to clean. If you scrub too hard, the rubber comes off and then more mould builds up. The company will accept no fault if the rubber comes off or if mould forms. Dissapointing for the price.

A pain to clean! – Dishwasher friendly but doesn't dry in small gaps around the outside. Such small spaces i can't fit my finger in to dry. Can easily lead to mould if not properly dried. Too heavy for small kids. Costly, considering I bought the large size and still can't fit all of her lunch inside- still have to use a separate sandwich container. Cant fit an apple or nectarine. Not ideal. Wont be buying again.

TOO HEAVY for little kids. Not user friendly – I really wished I had checked on here first before purchasing, instead of relying on the 4-5 star reviews on the website I got it from. The 5-compartment tapas lunch box is so incredibly heavy, even empty. I bought it for my almost 4yo for starting kindy, and with that in his bag, he fell over and actually struggled to get back up. The latch is… Read more

incredibly difficult for little hands to open or close, even adults have to use two hands to close it (you have to push the lid down with one hand and operate the latch with the other). And with the difficulty, it's extremely likely they will get their little fingers caught in the latch. It doesn't have a handle (this was my mistake in overlooking this), so for little kids looking to grab it quickly, it's not the simplest thing. Personally I think the quality is quite good, it seems to have a solid build. Nothing has broken or leaked as of yet. Unfortunately it doesn't have it's own icepack compartment, which I also did not consider at the time, so you would also have to invest in an insulated lunch bag, which would also increase the hassle for your child. Overall, it was definitely not worth the $50 I dropped on it, and it'll probably go into the cupboard until the kids are old enough to navigate using it with ease.

Not a fan - terrible design – What I like These boxes are Colourful and at first sight look like they’d be an appealing way to present food to young children. What I don’t like They are heavy (even before you put food in them) My kindy aged sons bag is ridiculously heavy with 2 of these boxes in plus a drink bottle: I instantly stopped using both at the same time … Read more

Expensive - no more explanation needed

Frustrating to pack- this is probably it’s biggest flaw. I have to cut food specifically to fit into this box. It annoyed my the first time I used it and continues to annoy me.

I bought one to fit a sandwich and it doesn’t fit one without squishing it a bit.

One of the snack boxes has an odd white pressure line in it like the plastic is bent after a couple of uses.

I would not buy any of this brand ever again and will be going back to a light weight insulated box for primary school and making do with these for the rest of kindy.

I’ve already ditched the small snack box which was just too small to be useful.

Latch broke – After 14months the latch broke on the tapas size yumbox. Considering these lunchboxes aren't cheap I was expecting the lunchbox to last. I have an older smaller version (pani) and it is about 4 years old and I have not had anything wrong with it. I love it and that is why I bought a 2nd Yumbox. Perhaps they have changed the way these are made now and the newer one (tapas) broke after 14months. Very disappointed I had to purchase a new latch.

Yumbox not built for kids – It didn’t last a year before the hinges broke. For that price point I would have expect a lot more durability. I can’t seem to buy the case alone so now I am stuck with trays I can’t use. This happened to both our yumboxes. I noticed a lot of cheaper versions floating around at the beginning of the school year so I will opt for that next time

lOVE the box gives me motivation – I recently bought this from NSW toy shop after reading feedback, and i am in love with it. There were so many color options which my girl was able to pick her fav one, it keeps me motivated to make her snacks, lets see how long it last!! We got the medium siz (pink one in the pic)

Great product!!! – I have the yumbox tapas for all 3 of my kids. There great because I can add a variety of foods & it all stays fresh. Iv never had an issue with mould or leaking & there easy to clean. The first one I brought 3 yrs ago & it's still going strong. I highly recommend this product!

Great product, not so great service – For a product that is meant to be for children, it's not very robust. I had this for less than a week and I'm not sure how it became this scratched. When I raised it with the seller, well you can read the reply for yourself.
