this "hand-made", personally set-up by "Denny" himself, top-of-the-line guitar. My guitar tech, at a cost of $250.00 was able to correct the problems.
UPDATE. July 2024 they called offering $250 for a positive review. I reminded them I asked for reimbursement July 2023. Next it's $350. I politely decline. My review is honest and true. About a week later there's a check for $1,000 in my mailbox. Damn right I cashed it. However, my review still stands. Update: January 2025. My 12 string still playing great. Also, after leaving this review on Amazon, to remove my review, Zager pulled all their products off Amazon. Being I was the only "verified" purchaser, out of over 50 reviews, it proves they'll do whatever they can to control the narrative. Has anyone else experienced this action?
Update. August, 2025 Doesn't it seem odd that, out of 180 reviews on this sight, 179 are all 5 star? And out of over, at least 5000+ reviews at various other sights, I am the only review with less than 5 stars? I mean, I can go to Fender, Gibson, Taylor, Yamaha, Ibanez, Alvarez/Yari, Epiphone, Martin and of course, even the great Maton etc., and I can find reviews from 1 to 5 stars of verified purchasers, yet, alone here in Australia, at this sight, is the only verified purchase review of a Zager of less than 5 stars. What are the odds? Scientifically, those odds are astronomical! Like 10 to the 2nd power. Meaning an impossibility!

Out of the box the action was set a bit high, which, if you read the documentation, is part of letting a new guitar with new wood settle in (fyi Zager includes a hex wrench, which makes the action an easy fix). Also the strings are set a little further apart. Zager does this to make fingerstyling easier. For me, this has been a bit of an adjustment but after a week, I'm not looking back. The thing plays like a dream.
The sound is out of this world! Pluck say an open B or E and then deaden just that string. The entire guitar is alive with harmonics and overtones. Yes, all guitars do this to some degree, but this...oh my...is simply unbelievable. It's the foundation of a rich, deep, full sound that you'll only get with the highest end instruments.
This is only a thumbnail partly because my review is getting long and partly because my 900e and I are still getting to know each other.
One more thing. Forget about your day job. Once you pick it up you won't be able to put it down.

guitars on offer. The prices appeared reasonable and they add in a case, a leather strap, extra sets of strings, picks, an electric tuner and more. Doing research I saw a lot of professional musicians chose Zager, I was familiar with Denny through Zager and Evans, the reviews I read were good, so I took the plunge. I say "I took the plunge" because these great guitars can only be purchased via their website. I ordered a ZAD80CE Aura. With shipping it was about $1800.00. It arrived yesterday. It was very well packed, delicately delivered to my front door by FedEx, and arrived in about a week from the date of ordering. Upon opening the case, I found many things. The first thing I noticed was a thank you note from Dennis Zager (the son of Denny). Nice touch. Next was the guitar. I was really amazed by the beauty of it. Lots of very high-quality touches. Lots of Mother of Pearl inlay to include a cool "Z" at the 12th fret. High end electronics and tuning pegs (machine heads). Then I took it out. Felt great in my hands. Next I tuned it up (it was nearly in tune coming out of the box) and started strumming. The sound I had been searching for in an acoustic guitar came ringing out of the sound hole! There was a note about the set up and how to adjust it but it was set up very well. Once it ages a bit I might tweak it. But for now, it seems good. Then I started running scales up and down the fretboard. Easy to pick individual notes. Then I started playing songs with a mixture of "cowboy chords" and barre chords. Wow! Fretting barre chords was easy. I see where they come up with their "easy playing" motto. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and look forward to this beautiful new guitar being my "go to" acoustic guitar; over a much fancier name brand that I have which is nice but doesn't come close to the quality, workmanship, and use of high end components. Zager is now my favorite guitar. It sounds wonderful. The built in tuner works perfectly. The guitar case is excellent, and the humidity reader inside of it is a great thing to have to help keep my guitar in excellent shape forever. With my purchase I also received guitar picks, strings, a guitar strap and even a T-shirt. The Zagers got my T-shirt size right I guess through mental telepathy, because I never said what size I wore. I received a lifetime membership to the Zager learning library AND for the few questions I have had, the Zager's customer service, via email and phone, has been almost immediate and helpful. I can't wait to buy a Zager parlor size acoustic electric guitar and a Zager full size acoustic electric 12 string. I'd buy them today if I had the money, but will have to budget for those, maybe one a year. I feel like a truly lucky person to have come across the Zager guitar website by chance a little over a week ago. Beautiful instrument – I am delighted with the guitar. Workmanship and playability is over the top. Lot’s of case candy and instructions on set up and how to care for the guitar. Came in a beautiful hard shell case with a built in hydrometer. Acoustic or plugged in it sounds great. It opens up a little more every time I play it and takes my heavy playing easily. This is my favorite guitar – I have some wonderful guitars, including Gibson SJ (1956), ES335, Parlor AG, Several Martins, Washburns, Taylor and PRS, and others. Buzz fix – Wow! I play my Zager about 5 days a week. Sometimes for just 10 or 20 minutes each day sometimes as much as 4 hours or more. Nearly every song I capo on the 5th fret. Guitars that excel! – I bought two guitars from Zager -- the ZAD900CE OM and the parlor guitar. Both guitars are beautifully made and sound wonderful. The parlor guitar is much better than my Martin and Taylor travel guitars in appointment and sound, and the OM is as good as anything I've ever played. It is a first rate guitar -- better than my Taylors and as good as my Huss and Dalton custom OM.

stopped in here since I got this guitar in November, and can't believe how easy it is on the fingers and the beautiful sounds that come from its body. the strings seemed to be a little high, so I adjusted them a little too much and less than two weeks later, the neck broke. Dennis Jr. told me to send it back and it would be replaced. This was my fault, but Zager made it good anyway. Talk about customer service! This was way far above and beyond the call of duty. I purchased two Parlor Guitars for my 8 year old twin grandchildren a couple months ago. They were Birthday (Dec. 23) and Christmas presents. When I unpacked them to inspect them on the 22nd, I was amazed. No adjustments were needed. The string height was perfect and they just fell down on the frets when touched. Not only that, but they came in the same high quality case with built in humidifier as their other guitars, straps, three sets of extra strings, a tuner and a package of Zager picks. I just cannot say enough about Zager quality and customer service. It just cannot be found anywhere else.

I order one top of the line 12 strings (that is what I used to play) and it arrived today. I was able to tune it and immediately was able to start to play some chords.
