This is perfect power surge protection – I bought this Power surge protection power board to protect my Electronic devices such as Computer, TV, Blu ray, Printer, Scanner etc. This Product is an amazing power surge protector. A few days ago, the power in my area has surge quite badly, it went up really badly but luckily this power board has done the job by stabilizing the power surge. … Read more

I am really happy because of that, if i hadn't done that it would cost me lots os money to replace every devices.

Performed "as designed"?? – Maybe my expectation of what this board protects against is unrealistic and that's why I'm disappointed in this product. Here's my experience: The plug of the surge protector had sagged in the wall socket, very slightly exposing the pins. A build up of dust/hair/spiderweb?? (in my defense, it was down behind the entertainment unit in a hard to… Read more

reach position) caused an arc across the pins which fried the home theatre unit which was plugged into the surge protector. The TV and PVR also plugged into the surge protector were okay.

I would have thought the surge protector board would protect any equipment downstream from supply problems upstream of the surge protector. Obviously not the case...

Product's good but don't rely on the Connected Equipment Warranty! – Bought this as part of a new computer purchase in 2010 for $180 which I consider a substantial amount to pay for a surge protector. It performed flawlessly and honestly the rating above doesn't do it justice because there hasn't ever been a problem with the product until an electrical storm came quite close in early December. What I have an… Read more

issue with is the Connected Equipment Warranty.

The storm did its fair share of damage if the neighbourly chat was any indication as apparently there were a few router/modem casualties with ours being one of them.

Thankfully the customer support at Internode came through for us replacing the modem which was very nice of them and as such they will keep our business as little things like that mean a lot to consumers like us.

Belkin however, as per the letter I received today took the hard line stating that "Our independent testing by a qualified electrical contractor has found the surge protector F9G820au2M-GRY in good working order".

My issue with Belkin is that whilst I accept their testing we are now left with computer that suffered a power supply failure during the storm which cannot be explained?

It will be our responsibility to chase what I assume will be a new power supply and hope that it is the only damage to the computer.

Honestly I find that pretty ordinary.

The computer was working fine before the storm but not after so one must deduce that something got through the surge protector to the power supply. That is the only conclusion I can draw.

In Belkin's case they are taking the hard line and have sent back the surge protector which works fine as tested 30 minutes ago but we still have a dead computer.

What I would have liked to see is the same hard-line email but a little empathy to consumers that run 5 Belkin surge protectors of various types in as little as an offer to assist with the repair of the power supply or pay for a service tech to look at the computer and give us options.

That would have been nice but alas we seem to be dealing with a company that spruiks its "Connected Equipment Warranty" as the be-all, end-all without any grey area.

Surely it isnt that difficult to have read between the lines that I was being completely honest in my claim and that as part of your service to customers could have flagged the claim for a final look on completion of testing?

Really is pretty ordinary in my opinion especially considering Internode's approach and solution to the same problem.

I certainly will be looking at other brands for all appliances vice Belkin going forward because I desire and expect a modicum of customer support and will point my wallet in that direction with the intention of taking business away from companies who cant offer it. Simple as that.

p.s. Your packing of the surge protector as returned was poor also. Surely you can afford a little more than 8 air-bag packs with no tape to secure the surge protector in the box?
