Still the best sounding 2in1 you can get – I used to have a set of the z 2300 but sold them as a complete package with my gaming desktop system back in 2012, ever since i have been looking for a set and last year i picked one out of Gumtree, the Z 2300 was in perfect condition and i got it for $70, i was rapt, the sound was excellent, no speaker distortion, so on with Led Zep and some good… Read more

rock, hooked it up to my laptop for movies, brilliant !!, if you ever find a good set, buy it, it has a extremely solid amp.

Spectacular – In short - absolutely brilliant little set of speakers which outperform anything in the same price/size bracket. Sadly discontinued by LOGITECH but definitely worth picking up at a garage sale or similar if you come across them. I can't remember when I bought them but its in the region of 6 years ago - I can't see myself being rid of them… Read more

until they break though. And thats for no other reason than spare parts are just about extinct and are priced accordingly.

Wow... Excellent product – I've had this set since April 2009. Since then, I've had loud parties, quiet listening time and everything inbetween. This set blew the doors off anything I've ever experienced before. The power and clarity is simply outstanding; I've had the LCD monitor before me shake and bow yet the clarity of sound is crystal clear with zero distortion. So sad… Read more

to see Logitech lose their way, this set is the pinnacle of audio excellence without having to spend four figures. Clear and precise sound, can be turned up to 90% volume without a single hint of distortion. At the time price, but 3 1/2 years later there is sadly nothing that can compare. Also you can tell the dodgy recording quality of many MP3 files (no fault of the speakers)

Best 2.1 system on the market for price. End of story – Stories aside, these speakers are LOUD, clear and very accurate at producing correct sound, AND they are under $200. The only bad sound that comes from these speakers is furniture, walls and objects vibrating because they are not secured properly. I am a musician, gamer, nerd, bum, audiophile. I have had MANY different sound systems over the… Read more

years. I can honestly say that this little 2.1 system has outlived and out performed 2.1, 5.1, and 7.1 systems that were more than twice the price that I have owned.

I have had my Z-2300's for just over 4 years. Only this week have I noticed a very slight buzz in the left side speaker at high volume, but they are still a-ok, it is very quiet and I highly doubt most people would even notice it (as mentioned earlier, this normally happens to my speakers much earlier than 4 years with the harsh treatment they receive being in my care). They have been carted around between parties, gatherings, rehearsals etc. Always blasting at between 1/2 and 3/4 volume. More than 3/4 tends to distort the sound (this would be my only suggestion to Logitech, maybe remove that "no go" zone from the volume control on future models, it is evident your speakers are loud, there is no need for the control to go into zones that are too loud for the speakers?) These speakers are certainly more than loud enough for almost any need. If you need louder than these you should buy a PA, not computer/home entertainment speakers...

If you are looking to upgrade your speakers, or downgrade to something smaller but still with a lot of power. These speakers are definitely the go! Extremely LOUD, clear, reliable, accurate sound at a very affordable price! Nothing. If I can absolutely flog speakers for 4 years before they show any signs at all of being worn there is nothing wrong with them.

Excellent – I don't think you could but a PC speaker system that could beat this system for sound and bass. The construction quality is not up to Krix standard though, but for $189 (IT Warehouse) who cares? Don't muck about with stupid 5.1 systems for your computer - save it for the home theatre room. For the average sized office, these are perfect and the… Read more

clarity is amazing. Truly the best PC speakers you can get bar none! Just get a set you won't be disapointed. Just like the other reviews I cannot believe how good these speakers sound. I have had them for 18 months now and had not had a problem at all. I switch off at the main after use though. The bass is really something to experience, and I reckon the mid range is not bad either. I run my iTunes off these while working at the computer so I don' have it really loud but the clarity is superb. Only negative comment is the size and weight of the sub. I have it sitting on the ground and had to extend the left speaker cable with an rca joiner (does not seem to have affected audio quality). Not too intrusive though and I always get comments when people go in my study about the size of the damm thing.

Great little entertainer – I have had my z2300 for 2years. It is installed outside in the entertainment area. We use it frequently and the sound quality in the outside area is excellent. We have had many parties some with up to 50 people and we have had many comments on the superb quality of the music. Even in the open space it sounds great. We run the volume at 1/4 for… Read more

Handsome kit - and extremely powerful! – I got this from PLE computers in Wangara (ordered online). It's a big heavy item, in it's box. I find the connector on the back of the woofer is something you don't want to damage, so make sure it doesn't get knocked (it's not an uncommon connector, it would just be fiddly to repair). This speaker system can blow your ears off, it can get… Read more

incredibly LOUD and that's with the volume control not even halfway up...seriously, this set can easily fill a room the size of a gymnasium. One should always exercise caution with the volume control.

I find when connecting this 2.1 speaker set to any computer, I have to tweak the PC's onboard graphic equalizer (especially the top end/treble range) to deliver those sweet highs satisfactorily. Yet when I connect a portable music player or my mobile phone in music player mode it can have perfectly acceptable tone without any adjustments. Impedance issue?

I have had this Z-2300 for over 2 years now and nothing has gone wrong with it at all. I have cranked this up a few times and never ever heard any distortion from the set itself (only distortion came from nearby objects or furniture that wasn't tied down securely).

Highly recommended, if you have the funds, need and area space. You won't regret your purchase. Gets as loud as you want it to get and way beyond, reliable, handsome bit of kit. In certain installations, one may need to audaciously adjust satisfactory tone/treble settings.

Excellent – the best 2.1 system available. Fantastic Bass and overall sound haven't really pushed past 50% volume as the volume starts to give you headache. If you can find anything wrong with these your too picky or don't know what your talking about brilliant sound great price

Excellent – For under $200 you don't get much better 2.1 systems than this. I picked this after Z5500 which was my original purchase kept on blowing its fuse. I was surprised at the sound quality. Probably, its not the best in terms of sound compared to some other high end systems but come on, the price and quality of these speakers are unmatched. If you're… Read more

Love it to the MAX! – So I chucked out my 5.1 speakers and decided I needed a new 2.1 system and I searched around and read the reviews of the Z-2300 which were pretty positive. I bought them for $155 and I can tell you it was worth every cent! the clarity is absolutely perfect and bass, dont even get me started it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Cheap, High Quality, 400W, Clarity out of this world, bass is spectacular 7 letters... N-O-T-H-I-N-G

Good – Overall i think these speakers are great and I would choose them over many other sets of speakers due to their sound quality and effectiveness. Good – My overall opinion of the Logitech Z-2300 speaker system is I think its a fantastic buy for what you pay, there is good value for money. If you listen to very bass heavy music such as Dubstep you will love this speaker system, because the bass can be over powering at times this is a perfect speaker system for you bass heads. stress in terms of bass responsiveness this speaker system has no dramas and I have hammered this speaker system to know. So in all this is a fantastic speaker system. The speaker system is also THX certified, but do not get overly excited for it is a very easy test for the speaker system(S) in general to pass and get. But never the less I will give this speaker system a 8/10 because it reproduces my sounds very well and I like it.

Thanks for reading and I hope this helped. Very responsive lows, very clean highs. This system has a pretty good power output of 200 Watts RMS and a peak of 400 Watts. This is shared between the 120 Watt active 8" long throw ported woffer and the 40 Watt 2.5" polished aluminium phase plug driven satellites. This speaker system also comes with a wired remote control that holds quick and easy access to:

The master volume notch.

The bass volume Notch.

A on/off button.

A output 3.5mm headphone jack.

Nice strong durable speakers can handle allot of stress with minimal distortion, has very responsive and clean bass (this is depending on what music you listen to, the quality of the music and how you adjust the bass volume) Very clean crisp high frequencies (again depending on audio quality that is outputted to this speaker system). The satellite speakers have very poor mid tones from what I have found.

The bass can tend to be muddy at times.

Good – Great system, and for under $200 it is the best and most powerful you can get. The bass is amazing and sounds very clean and tight, also hits the 35Hz mark as it is a THX certified system. Looks good and is easy to use and hook up with its phase plug design. The Polished aluminium tips on the 3.5" speaker drivers look a treat, but don't sound… Read more

as good as they look.

Overall, a great system with a lot of groundpower, but it lacks the midrange of other competing systems. Definitely worth the buy, but make sure you have some spare phase plug cords hanging around to plug into something like another smaller speaker system with AUX in ports to compensate for the lack of midrange.

If you don't mind a bit of a flat sound that is a little less crisp in your music, buy it, but if you love your music, make sure you have something as already mentioned around if you are an audiophile. AMAZING bass, clean crisp bass that will shake the house quite easily. Very powerful sub with the 8" Long-Throw driver and over 250 watts powering it, it makes for a big headache after listening to bass heavy music after a while.

Looks nice aswell and is easy to use. The up-sized drivers in the speakers make for a pretty average mid-range. I suggest hooking up some decent midi system speakers or bookshelf speakers to this to get your midrange back.

Excellent – Value for money? Heck yeah!!!! Without venturing into your Bang & Olufsen $2000 and up systems, these are the BEST 2.1 speakers on the market today. To a trained ear, the lack of mid range, supposed 'unnatural' sound reproduction, and the fact these cost less than 200$ may be apparent, but to the rest of us for home entertainment use, these are… Read more

perfect. Most wont even notice the midranges thing. Some people who aren't keen on the pure power of the sub here may want to keep the bass turned down, but depending on your preferences they kick arse when turned up to max or to your desired setting. An equaliser can be used to fine-tune the sound (iTunes has a built in EQ, and about 15-20 presets) and this can help optimise the sound to your needs. EQ's can also help adjust the midranges too. So... whether it be music, movies (THX!!), games, all the random sounds lovely Windows gives us, or simply to annoy your neighbours or parents, The Logitech Z2300 speakers will handle sound like a Lamborghini handles the streets! And they will certainly pump out anything you throw at them... perhaps blow your eardrums before you manage to blow the speakers (I declare war! :P ). If you are considering these... YOU WILL NOT REGRET BUYING THEM!!!!!!!!! Very powerful bass, clear, crisp treble (high notes). Decent power rating 200W RMS, 400W Peak. 2 year warranty. Adjustable Sub, headphone jack, adapter for any RCA audio input (the little red and white plugs that you might find on DVD players, game consoles, etc). Stylish design and THX certification! Stunning sound quality for music, brilliant for movies and games (for what a 2.1 system can do anyways, not as a 'home theatre'). Great comparative price ($162 @ MSY). Easy connection to laptop or desktop or iPod/MP3 player via a 3.5mm jack (same as iPod headphones if you are unsure). No stand-alone sound card needed (better sound quality MAY be noticed, haven't tried this myself). Convenient wired remote to place within easy reach next to your keyboard or laptop. Bass (for some people, not for me, I personally love the bass these things put out), 2.1 (not surround sound, an immediate disadvantage against 5.1 for movies and games). SLIGHT lack of harmony between Sub and Satellites, so Midranges are an 8/10. No wireless remote (dont be lazy!). Perhaps could benefit from more inputs, depends if you need them or not. Sub is possibly too big, but placed on the floor somewhere you won't notice. Set up tip- dont cover the vent on the left side of the speaker, this is where air goes in.

Excellent – i think this is the best 2.1 speaker system money can buy, with a massive subwoofer that provides incredible bass to the satellite speakers which contain the midrange speakers that also double up as tweeters. although some people complain there is no tweeter, i think the satellites do a great job with both mid and high range. the sound is amazing and the high power that the speakers supply allow for you to pump music at high levels without the sound becoming distorted.

People also complain about the subwoofer being too heavy, i think its just a sacrifice for some great bass

The sound can be controlled through a SoundTouch wired remote which you can put on your desk etc, and the game console adapter allows you to listen to the sound of your games through the logitech speakers. this provides the ultimate gaming experience

i would reccommend these to anyone 10/10!!! good looking, loud and cheap

big sub - great bass

headphone adapter for consoles the subwoofer grill - i ended up taking it off as the sub would sometimes hit it

Good – Simple. These are the best 2.1 computer speakers money can buy for the price. No doubt about that. Excellent – Wonderful clear THX certified sound that's amazing to hear from two such small speakers. Overly bass heavy in general however a seperate volume control for bass helps to adjust this. speakers so while they are about as good as it gets for music they probably aren't want you want for gaming. The large speaker can easily sit on the floor under your computer desk. THX certified means the quality of sound is brilliant - and it is! I have never been unhappy with my purchase of these and they really do have amazing sound. Especially suited for bass lovers and those who like music loud with no distortion. I have my mac set up in the middle of an open plan appartment and use these speakers for all my music - they are so great I don't even bother with my stereo's anymore. I almost always have the bass turned right down - the speakers are quite base heavy. The desk controler allows you to adjust volume separately to the volume of the bass though and this helps. The bass speaker is also quite large, as are most in the high end range though.

There is no distortion when I turn up the volume and there is a headphone jack on the wired remote control which makes plugging in easy and convenient.
