I love my Risotto and Rice maker – I have had my Risotto and Rice maker for over four years and use it for risotto every week, have never had a failure and find it so convenient to use, easy to clean and so time efficient to cook a delicious risotto after coming home from work, definitely beats standing stirring at the stove for half an hour, far better to be sitting down relaxing with a glass of wine !!  Show details

Non-stick bowl peeling – We had this rice cooker for nearly two years now. It cooks risotto beautifully. Can't complain about this function. The rice though has a crusty bottom layer, and after two years now, the bottom of the rice pot has started to peel despite us using the right utensils (only wood and plastic spatulas). Quite disappointed it did not last long. Rice is our staple food and we have it at least 3 to 4 times a week!

Better than expected – I wanted something to help cook risotto with out sitting at the stove for hours (an impossibility with two young children). The risotto turned out much better than i was expecting, and i was able to cook all in the rice cooker (even the meat). If you are a gourmet cook with time on your hands then no doubt you could do better the original way but… Read more ·  1

it did a great job for the family meal.

Have also used it for steaming vegies - not a hard task but worked better than the microwave when the stove top is full.

Rice cooker – it did not last very long, have had it for 11 months and do not want it will be swapping for another! Would not recommended it, I have no luck with rice cookers, rice is part of our staple diet, very disappointed! Buy a home brand they all last the same!! It switched to keep warm after a few min

Love it! – Brought one of these Breville Risotto & Rice makers a month ago and the whole family loves everything that comes out of it! (and I have 3 fussy small kids). Saute function is fabulous - less washing up! Great to be able to choose from rice or risotto. Easy to clean (not like the rice cookers that have their lid attached). Love this appliance! Saute function is awesome! Easy to clean, Very versatile! A+++ for this one Breville! Nothing!

Doesn't last long – Purchased the rice cooker with credit card award points, so we never got a warranty. This Breville worked great for us for about 18 months and then the rice function stopped cooking, instead switching to warm after a couple of minutes. We did use it frequently, but still, it should last longer than that. We have been unlucky with rice cookers in… Read more

the past, which never seem to last more than a year or so. This rice cooker continues the proud tradition of failing with frequent use. When it works, it works well. Stopped working after 18 months.

I Love It – I am very impressed with the Risotto function, as well as the Steamer setting (and basket). It is fabulous for sauteing and prepping recipes, and it's a great slow cooker too. I'm still experimenting with the rice cooker setting, and have not had great results, especially cooking brown rice yet. I don't think the rice cooking recipes and times in… Read more

the book are very accurate at all. The other recipes look great, especially the risotto recipes, some of which I have made already. Risotto setting, Saute setting, Slow Cook High & Low setting The recipes for the rice cooking are not working for me, and do not seem accurate.

Excellent for the price – I read all the reviews before I purchased this product, but this was the only rice cooker with a stainless steal steamer. So i thought i would buy and give it a try. If it's no good i would return it. First time ever to use a rice cooker. So i wasn't sure what to expect other than what I had read.. I cooked it to the what the instruction said… Read more ·  3

and the rice didn't cook, it was still hard. Which I did read on the reviews. But I thought I would experiment on the water quantity.

So I tried again and this time I put 2 1/2 cups of water to 2 cups of white rice that i rinsed well. The rice turn out fluffy and it didn't stick or burn (12 minutes to cook) . I was so pleased it turned out great.

Stir the rice once it has finished cooking and wait a good 10-15mins on the warm setting before you serve and you will be very happy. It makes perfect rice all time..

Very easy to clean!! The rice was really fluffy..Very pleased with the end result.... Stainless steal steamer bowl is great. I had to experiment to get fantastic results.. 2 1/2 cup of cold water to 2 cups of of white rice..Instructions says 2 cups water to 2 cups white rice..

Good – Having never owned a rice cooker before, I was terrible excited about using this one. For me, it is easy to use (and clean BTW, always a plus!!) and gives great results. I understand other reviewers have found the long cooking time a pain but as I hadn't used a rice cooker before, I just read the cookings times and worked out my main dishes to… Read more

be ready at the same time. The chicken risotto recipe in the booklet is delicious, as is the vanilla risotto recipe. All around, I am delighted with my machine. Fantastic risotto and easy rice making. Easy to use and adapt own recipes. I LOVE mine. (DJ's have these out for $39.95 until October 17th.) Haven't found anything so far.....;0)

Terrible – I love the color and the multi function. It takes more than 30 minutes to cook rice. I think i'd better buy the syncro one that it's said it is really the NON stick one the Risotto maker is very good and useful. The cooked rice is fluffy on the top and in the middle. A non-stick rice cooker. But the rice does sticks on the bottom. So funny! The steaming tray is too deep.

Terrible – far too slow to cook to be used as a day to day rice cooker, if you cook a lot of risotto then it may be worthwhile, but i havent tried this function so cant comment does eventually cook the rice nicely. looks nice which is why i bought it. havent tried the risotto function so cant comment on that TAKES 40 MINS to cook 2 cups of rice (the smallest… Read more

amount) (I timed 41 mins, from memory the instructions say 38mins or so). If you look at Choice's reviews, most other rice cookers take 18-20mins. You have to remember to put the rice on 30 mins before you start to stir fry to have any chcance of your meal not being completely overcooked waiting for the rice

Terrible – we returned this product to try again incase it was faulty and got no better an outcome, i would not recommend it unless you were after a risotto maker only no complaints about the risotto function automatically keeps rice & risotto warm for a decent period of time rice cooking function makes inedible dry crunchy rice takes a long time to cook
