Door handle breaks – As with many hundreds of other users, the door handle breaks due to manufacturing fault. Obviously, this is a well know problem and yet Electrolux refuse to acknowledge this. Its only a 10 minute job to replace the complete panel, but unfortunately the price for this in 2023 is almost $200 for a bit of plastic with a KNOWN FAULT. Very poor… Read more

Don’t waste your time – Just spent good money replacing the fascia and hinges when a couple of weeks later the machine almost caught on fire, black smoke pouring out of the front. Lucky I was there when it happened otherwise it could have been worse. Basically don’t waste your money on this machine or even investing in repairs. Like others have said I don’t believe that… Read more

this machine has not been recalled with so many reports of this issue. If I had read the reviews on this page sooner I would have thrown it out, it’s a ticking time bomb..

I thoight I was the only one! – The handle broke just after 12 months, cracked right along the facia. Could not find receipt, and when did find it out of warranty. SO, we just taped a sign over the handle stating "Do NOT USE!", and open by holding both sides of the door. The botton tray warps if more than 6 plates are in, so cannot glide in and out....and in Eco mode, nothing gets cleaned. Have to use Fairy on hottest setting to get anything clean. Show details

Good dishwasher if you are lucky like me – Got this dishwasher about 6 years ago after the previous one ( not a dishlex and inherited from the previous house owner) had a bad water pump and broken handle. This one I have now only has the wheels bottom rack issue which you can buy and replace. The wash is actually the best I have had and yes having experienced a broken handle from the… Read more

last one I just don't close it fully ( no click) unless it's on a wash - so no broken handle in 6 years. I use it a lot - minimum 2 washes every day filled to the top ( I am a typical male who piles it high) and it really does the job if you stack it right.

DX301 – Our DX301 we've had for 5 years, it does its job it gets used every day, it has the small plastic handle at the front broken off, it seems this model did that to every one. I just stuck it back on, it fell off again, so I left it, no problem. Didn't effect the dish washing, I find it a little difficult to really load it up, got to do it… Read more

properly, its not that big, but it does our job.

If you load it sensibly it works fine.

Haven't had the water go cold , that sounds like a problem other than the dish washer.

Obviously if the water system doesn't send hot water some of the dishes are not going to clean. You need a plumber.

PS I have no idea why people needed to replace the front panel for just the handle????? Sounds a bit silly to me.

Bought it at The Good Guys , haven't got the paperwork, it must be somewhere. Genuine review though.

8 years old, used everyday, and still going strong! – Tough stains are not removed like the ads on TV! lol but overall, it works well, and is relatively quiet. I guess like all electronic equipment, you may get one that is like mine and you get great service from it, or get unlucky. Maybe tank water has helped it's life?  Show details

Handle broke and had to replace whole control board, now that has burnt out – The handle broke early in it's life as described in other reviews. Last night I woke at 4am to a strong burning electrical smell throughout the house, traced it to the dishwasher. The control board had completely burnt out, lucky it didn't start a house fire. Show details

Caught fire, almost burned down the house! – This is the perfect product for you, if you want to die in a fire... Same issue as everyone else, after a years of use, one random day it decided to catch fire inside the control panel. Luckily on this particular day I decided to turn the dishwasher on in the afternoon, instead of just before bed like I would normally do. If I had not been aware… Read more

of the smoke pouring out of the machine to switch it off quickly, the fire would have likely spread and burnt our house, with us in it, down! After it had cooled down and the toxic smoke cleared, I opened up the control panel to find it coated in black soot and a melted mess of electronics. With the amount of similar experiences on here, its criminal that this product hasn't been recalled and a wonder this piece of junk hasn't caused fatalities. I won't be purchasing from Electrolux every again, its not worth risking my family's lives over.

Oh and one last thing, just like lots of others, the handle on this unit also snapped off years ago, which I had to replace. Why am I not surprised...

Total disappointment – I have had several dishlex dishwashers Not because I like to update to the latest model but because they only seem to last long enough to be just out of warranty The handle broke on this model within 18 months of purchase The bottom rack refuses to slide in and out properly It has been pretty good at washing (I use the regular eco setting) But… Read more

think this product should have been recalled – Product ok. Except for drawers that are difficult. Handle broke a couple of years ago. However just lucky as the door just exploded in burning smoke(10 minutes ago) Lucky I was a few metres away. The safety switch did not trigger. Kitchen full of smoke(alarm triggered) Then when I read about the model it is a common fault. Surely there should have… Read more

Burning smell, Stopped working – Last night we were in bed and could smell something burning, there was smoke coming out of the dishwasher and a burning plastic smell coming from the dishwasher door behind the display panel. Surely after all of these complaints the dishwasher should have been recalled for safety reasons. Scary to think of what could have happened if we weren’t home. Handle broke after roughly 3 months also.  Show details

IT DOES NOT WASH – I have used Dishlex washers before and have never encountered the problem I am having with this model dx301. I have now moved house and this machine was already in place, however in the last few days, at the end of the cycle, the dishes are dirty and the water is cold. I have four little kids and need your washer to work. Not happy. Can't do without it. Show details

Less than average wash quality. Design of upper level is hopeless – This dishwasher was already installed when we moved into our house. Never had a Dishlex before. This machine confirmed why. Have to rinse dishes before loading machine because flimsy plastic filters can’t cope with normal debris from dishes. Even then, dishes are often not clean. Seems more of a problem when using powder detergent (even the… Read more

expensive stuff). Don’t know why. Interior design allows only for small loads. Folding plate racks (to accommodate pots and pans) are a good idea. Except they fold while trying to stack plates. Glasses or cups stacked in the top rack don’t stay in place as there’s no bar to hold them. Consequently cups and glasses knock together unless they can be placed over the uprights in the centre of the top rack. Uprights which are designed for small plates etc. By stacking this way, to avoid damaging the cups and glasses, only a few can be stacked and there’s little room for anything else on the top rack. In the past I had a Miele for many years. In January I purchased a well-priced Bosh for family member. Both stack lots of dishes and wash/dry very well. I wish I’d known how bad this Dishlex would be as I’d have bought myself a Bosch too. Will have to wait and see what deals the retailers are offering for the upcoming EOFY.

Fire Hazard – This is the second dishwasher that has caught fire. After they replaced the first one with the exact same mobile, much to my disgust and my insistence that I didn't want that model again. Circuit board fire – House filled with acrid smoke smell. Fortunately the washer had just finished its cycle and we were home. Electricians called who traced problem to circuit board. Washer does a good job but really disappointed that this problem occurred with a unit that may be 8 years old but only used sparingly in a 2 person household.  Show details

Handle broken – Our handle has broken after 4 years. Also has some sort of problem with draining (error code i20). Something else which is a bit annoying about this model is that there is no audible alarm to alert you that the dishwasher has finished the cycle. If the door is not opened as soon as the cycle is finished to allow the steam to escape, we find the dishes are very wet.  Show details

Not real flash – Ah yes...that handle. Broken of course. The door is heavy to close, no wonder the handle strained under the pressure! Tablet often gets stuck in holder, ended up just throwing the tablet into the base of it. Next one looks like a Bosch for sure. Bye bye Dishlex, never again...  Show details

My Last Dishlex – Having had several Dishlex machines in the past and they have been great, this will be my last one. Not because it is so good that it will never break and out last me. joke. who ever came up with the design should be condemned to a life of having to refit the damn things every time the tray is pulled out. You can buy new ones easily enough and they last anywhere from 5 minutes to about a month before they break. Not sure what brand I'll buy in the future but it sure won't be another Dishlex.

Fire hazard – We recently moved and this was the previous owners dishwasher. Last night our house was filled with a burnt rubber smell. Lucky our fuse tripped. Reading other reviews here I can’t believe there hasn’t been a recall. Electrolux - what if my fuse box didn’t work and our house burnt down? What if someone died? Anyway, dishwasher is dead. Btw, the handle had broken off.  Show details

It looks nice.. that’s where it ends – Every time I use this dishwasher I feel a build up of rage inside me. This company should be ashamed of themselves. It is absolutely horrible. The wheels constantly break and you can not slide the tray in and out. I contacted the company and for 90 we could get a new tray but I’m sure it’s with the same horrible wheels. Made with crap parts – The dishwasher runs fine but in the last 7 Year’s the handle that open and closes the dishwasher has broken twice. Handle and wheels break early on and easily – Despite the door handle breaking early on, the cutlery tray losing some of it's bottom, and most of the lower tray rollers breaking so that we have to very carefully place the lower basket with broken wobbly wheels in place, it still cleans. Best with tablets as the powder tends to clog in the release tray, and even the tablets often jam. I guess… Read more

we should accept that most electrical appliances are part of the 'break quick and replace' generation to keep manufactures' turnover going, but I remember a dishwasher from the 1960s was still working the same twenty years later, while this poor, broken, maimed critter struggles on after five years. Replacement parts are nearly as expensive as a new dishwasher from Aldi, so I'll persist with the physically challenged 301 - it makes me wash more dishes by hand. It's fairly quiet when it's going - that's a positive.

Broken handle and bottom tray problems – The dishwasher cleans OK but like most other reviewers, our plastic door handle broke early on and I really object to having to pay for a whole new front door. Handle broke off and now bottom wash arm wont spin = – This machine is a joke. Handle broke off last year but we just put up with it and open the machine from the side. Broken handle = bad design – It is very quiet, which is great. However, the front handle has broken due to a bad design using thin plastic. I wont pay $100 for the spare part like many others have to. I will by a cheap handle from bunnings and screw that on. When it dies I will probably look at other brands.  Show details
