Cons: Gets blocked easily. heavy. breaks down easily. I will go back to miele
Overall: Motorhead does well in cleaing. Pickup is good. however, it nearly always gets blocked up where other machines I have had, ie Miele, does not. Hard to unblocked. Heavy head and breaks down often. Now it has blown the fuses in the house, and will not start. I am going to buy a miele

Pros: Suction is really good, gets dog hair off couches.
Cons: It is heavy, could have a longer cord and its not good to do stairs, the powerhead its too big and the machine bulky. Also this model you cannot attached the grooming attachments.
Overall: I love it my brother bought his around and once I seen what came out of my carpets I was astounded, I have two Golden Retrievers so you can imagine the hair. My dogs sit on our couches as well and it removes the hair off the couches, which before I could not get off. I had owned an Electrolux which was good but no where near as good as this. However, I don't think once you take the motorhead off the suction is that good. But I cannot complain I vaccuum nearly every 2-3 days and it is amazing what comes off my floors even the tiles. It is easy to empty. Like I said it is heavy and bit bulky. I wanted the grooming attachments but it didn't fit this model. My rugs have come up brand new.
Overall: We had a Wertheim from Godfreys, machine broke down about every 11.5 months when it stopped working for the 4th time we decided to buy a Dyson
My carpets are the original floor coverings in a 19 year old house, but after using the Dyson the look like they were layed yesterday.
I am still amazed at the amount of dirt that has come out of them even though we were using a very expensive and powerful motorhead for the last 3 years.
Overall: This vacuum cleaner has good suction but that is all that it has going for it, so far I have gone through 3 motorheads and as for cleaning it that is all you seem to do,takes all your time cleaning the vacuum cleaner instead of your carpets. I will not buy another Dyson not very good.
Cons: Bad warranty service, painful to clean filter & dirty to empty
Overall: I don't know how many times this has been back to dyson for repairs!the filter is so painful to clean & emptying the dust compartment is totally disgusting. The only thing it has going for it is the suction!Overall if you want to spend more time cleaning your vacuum as apposed to actually vacuuming go ahead.A real disappointment!!! Just wish I had $ to buy something else :(

I live near the beach and sand dunes so have very fine sand and dog hair through the house. Do you recommend this vac for that sort of dirt or a different one?
Jemma asked on Jun 14, 2011
DEFINATELY! You will be amazed at how much extra fine dirt it picks up,the more I have used mine, the more I love it,its easy to manouver after a few uses and doesn't seem as big once you are used to it and your floors will look sensational. I am considering getting an inside dog for the first time myself ! good luck!
