Overall: The fridge and freezer have been fantastic. Easy to clean, keeps F&V very fresh, everything fits well, the foldable top shelf is strong and very handy to use sometimes.
No issues with the freezer or fridge seal, I would definitely recommend, this is the best fridge I've ever had
I would buy again.

Pros: Energy efficient, looks good.
Cons: A little expensive compared to other fridges of similar size. Maybe you get what you pay for?? Not sure yet.
Overall: My 25 yo fridge conked out, and rather than spend any money getting it fixed and still have a 25 yo fridge, we upgraded to an Electrolux, 510 litre, stainless steel fridge with bottom mount freezer. How happy am I? It looks great, the stainless steel doesn't show fingerprints, and everything is at eye level - no more bending down to vegie crispers. It was a little on the expensive side, but is supposed to be the most energy efficient, so we figured that counted for something. I'm still in the honeymoon period with my fridge, but so far, so good.

Pros: Design, energy efficiency, good price
Overall: Have loved it from day 1 and still loving it a year down the track. Simple but stylish design. The various compartments are conveniently laid out. Fruit and vegies are kept fresh and crisp and the meat drawer is handy. Most of all i love the robust handle to open the doors, easy to pull and no sticky hand marks left all over the door. My three year old (now four) loves the easy access to the little freezer drawer where her icy poles are kept.

We have not had any seal or frosting issues. A brilliant fridge competitively priced. Highly recommend

Pros: Design and styling
Cons: Electrolux administration and policy (play acting as if the problem was new to it). Freezer seal irreparable.
Overall: The freezer seal does not close against the body of the fridge at the top. We did not notice this immediately but did so after some time. Similar to others here, the service man from Electrolux came out to have a look and used a heat gun to unfreeze the seal. As it has done with others, it went straight back to how it was before, leaving a gap at the top of the freezer seal. Two to three weeks later, the seal was replaced and was still unsuccessful. I placed a straight edge against the body of the fridge along the seal line and found that it was bowed inwards and the door, at the same point, was bowed outwards..... it was never going to work.

Electrolux had also suggested that the seal was no longer its issue but after some discussions around the words in its policy, it backed down.

Here are some of the issues I have with Electrolux:

1) Electrolux is obviously well aware of this problem so it feels to me like it has been pretending that this problem was new to it. It is still selling these refrigerators. If the problem still exists, this is reprehensible.

2) Had I not paid for an extended warranty, I would now be looking to pay for a new fridge.

3) I am only able to recover the cost of the fridge which is fair but I am also required to return the fridge myself if I want the refund and I cant get the same fridge for the price I paid.

4) Because it appears obvious to me that Electrolux is aware of this problem but behaves as if in each instance it is a one off, it is potentially acting criminally. That is to say, it is selling and presenting this product under false pretences.

I was told that this was an Australian company and that the fridge was Ausie built. To my mind, this has been a shameful display by what I thought was considered to be one of the better white goods manufacturers.

I was prompted to write this after seeing that others have had a similar problem. I am profoundly disappointed in Electrolux, not only because it has cost me some serious time and money but because it has pretended that my problem was unusual and this is clearly not the case.

Electrolux, you should have removed this product from sale when you knew you had a problem and not cost me and many others, it would appear, wasted time and money.

Pros: Stylish, energy efficient, spacious
Overall: I chose this fridge over other brands because of the energy rating and although slightly more expensive than similar sized fridges it has been worth the extra cost. The quality is excellent and we have had no problems at all. The freezer has lots of room due to the full width freezer basket and the twist and serve ice tray is a nice feature.

Pros: Build quality, design, aesthetics, ease of use, environmental credentials
Cons: Meat drawer could be bigger
Overall: We've only had this fridge (5100SC) for a couple of weeks now, but are absolutely loving it.

We love the nice clean lines of the design, that will not date easily. It is simple, well designed and cavernous in the interior.

Superior build quality, nice solid metal handles. The fit and finish of this machine was a cut above the rest in its class in the showroom.

We weren't looking for fancy electronic panels, or ice machines or water filters - which are all more (expensive) things to go wrong, fix and replace in the future. I can't bring myself to pay over $100 to replace a water filter. If I want a glass of cold water I will open the fridge and pour one. The ice block section in the freezer is nicely designed - 3 trays that work well to twist and drop into a large ice bucket with a handy scoop that fits snugly to the side. Again, I don't have a problem using my arms to open the door to get some ice, and don't need a machine to do this for me.

Lots of nice well thought out features, like the shelf that can be retracted to half it's depth, allowing you to fit in tall items to the shelf below, a pastry drawer in tge freezer, and the ice scoop mentioned above.

Originally we were looking at French doors for the extra width, as we wanted to fit oversized trays/platters if needed. But the French doors had extra seals and hinges, which we figured would add to more likelihood of leakage in the long run. And even in the show room, most of the doors were not lining up flush, and this would only get worse over time. Then we saw the 5100, which was just as wide, a few hundred bucks cheaper, and more energy efficient ... It was a no brainer.

The environmental credentials of this thing are best in class, and that was important to us.

Also made in Australia, with an Electrolux extended warranty (purchased direct from Electrolux gives an extra 3 years, brings it to 5 years in total) for about $150, which is cheaper than the shop equivalent.
