Inferior design – We bought an Electrolux Fridge in late 2014. Within the first year we noticed a mm gap in the seals. Admittedly we should have had them replaced under warrantee but it didnt seem so bad at the time. Well they got worse from year to year till now it has had an obvious effect on our power bill. Now we know seals do need replacing from time to time… Read more

but where is Electoluxs quality control if they go so quickly? The last Harvey Norman fridge ( a Fisher and Pakyl) lasted 20 years before the seals needed attention. Another issue is the very thin gauge of the sheet metal housing- within a short time, despite proper care by us warping had developed. In addition we have had issues with shelf caddies falling out due to the inferior design of the lugs that kept breaking. Not a good purchase and likely to be added to landfill within ten years. Electrolux were 'unable' assist. Electrolux need to return to their old production standards: a new fridge should see a family through.

Would buy again, very good fridge! – Positives: Good size for a family of 4 Looks great, brushed steel easy to keep clean and doesn't show fingerprints Heaps of room for vegetables Separate seafood drawer to keep smells out of rest of fridge (or we use as a deli drawer) Pretty quiet, only notice the motor occasionally when it kicks in Love the fridge up the top with freezer… Read more

below

Easy to keep clean, glass shelves wipe easily, drawers easily removed

Freezer has ice section where you can fill the trays then turn them into a dispensing section so you can have plenty of ice on hand

Freezer has 3 drawers which makes for easy organising and can get to everything quickly

Negatives:

Get a bit of mould in the freezer seal, but easy to wipe off

We like to cook in bulk and freeze heaps of meals, so the freezer isn't big enough for our needs. This was not a problem for us though as we have a separate upright freezer as well

Freezer handle not glued on well and likes to come off in your hand. No biggy, really, usually just results in laughter at Mum's expense

Seafood drawer cracked at rear when son didn't close drawer before slamming fridge door. Lesson learned

Overall:

Great fridge, issues are small. Keeps food cold, would definitely buy again. Had this one for 9 years, still going great.

Fantastic Bottom Mount Fridge Freezer from Electrolux – I have owned the above fridge/freezer from Electrolux, makers of Westinghouse, Kelvinator, AEG, Simpson and Chef products. It has always been very quite and cold, I nearly always have it full with a family of four. The Stainless Steel look doesn't retain fingerprints I just wipe it over with a multi purpose cleaner and soft damp cloth. The… Read more

temperature of the freezer we keep at -15 degrees I have put a remote temp gauge in the freezer that I got for Christmas and I think the fridge stays around +5 degrees. Electrolux are still making a model that is very similar to mine it just has a different door handle. I nearly always buy Electrolux products as I have always had a good run out of them and from experience with other Electrolux products in the past if I need a service repair person they are there the next business day. I expect this fridge/freezer will last to about 8-10 years. I bought it from The Good Guys and always get their Extended Warranty so I know I am covered for 5 years at least. We love this fridge 10/10.

Perfect sized fridge with practical freezer drawers – I wanted most possible storage with a good look for the fridge. Something this definitely has. No problem in 6 years and still happy with it. Easy to clean and have a good selection of storage space. Quiet and reliant. Has been moved several times and there has been no issues. Would buy again.  Show details

A great fridge – The Electrolux fridge is not only a good looking fridge but it's extremely functional. It has plenty of space for storage, especially for bigger items which some fridges fail to accommodate for. It has lost of special storage spaces for the essentials such as meat, eggs, veg and wine! And the ice maker is easy to use.  Show details

Fantastic product! – The internal design makes it super fast and easy to clean. Not only is it by far the quietest fridge I have ever owned, it's also the coldest and most reliable. Fantastically cold in the steaming Aussie summer heat, keeps drinks ice cold even with the kids opening the door all day long.  Show details

Done and Dusted - very disappointed in theElectrolux EBM5100SDR – I bought this fridge thinking it was good quality just under five years ago, and it has now died! It has a gas leak and cannot be repaired. Shame on you Electrolux. I would not, and will not be recommending an Electrolux fridge to anyone. Show details

Poor value for money – We have experienced the same problems as Barbara & Mark, with the door handle continually falling off & the door hinge failing. How such an expensive item can be fitted with such inferior materials, i.e. plastic washers etc, beggars belief. very poor quality – Unfortunately the pieces all break off one at a time. The handle fell off the door in the first year which they replaced and then it came off again. The door shelves all break and then they don't have replacement parts.

Its made in Australia and its awesome. thats it – We as a country don't make many things anymore as our governments have sold us out. This unit is high quality, attractive and long lasting. I would definitely recommend Electrolux appliances to anyone smart enough to buy Australian made. Show details

Great fridge! I’ve had it for over 5 years and it works like new – This has been a great fridge for my family for the past 5 years. It has Plenty of storage space and compartments for everting. 6 years old and falling apart – Did a huge amount of research prior to purchasing and purchased as it was a great looking stainless steel fridge and highly rated for energy efficiency. will need to get a whole door replacement.

Choice have said that you should expect to get at least 8-10 years from a decent fridge. This is just under 7 years old.

We are just about to update our Kitchen and whilst we have had 6 odd years without and issues, I am certainly contemplating going to another brand when we renovate.

Disappointing Fridge – We paid top dollar for what we thought was a good quality fridge. An Avoidable Problem – My wife and I bought a full size fridge just over 4 years ago. Already the door hinge (top door) where the door pivots and carried the weight, is failing. The washer turned out to be plastic and is powdering away to the point we had to call out a service technician or the door would be ruined. By any measure it is a disgraceful choice of a small but essential part of the fridge. The call out fee was $145. What an insult.  Show details

Practical Fridge but Not The Quietest – Practical fridge and does its job fine. The layout is pretty good and plenty of storage. However, at middle of the night you can hear the compressor noise when you are in proximity of this fridge so just need to get used to it.. Furious with customer "service" – The fridge is fine. Well. We've had it three years and we've had to replace the seal and had the tray in the door repaired once. Now the whole tray has snapped off, including the attachment points, and the only way Electrolux say it can be "fixed" is to replace the whole door. But that INCLUDES getting a whole new freezer door as well and it costs… Read more

$340. Do I want or need the freezer door? NO. Can anyone think of a use for it? NO. Did the customer service guy actually say, "it isn't about what you want, that's just how it comes"? YES. YEs, he did.

Good Fridge – Bought it when there is promotion going on in the good guys on ebay around $1100. Have been using it since jun 2016. We have set it up to the highest temperature but it is still very cold inside(good thing?). It is average quiet and with safety glass, it can carry a lot of weight. Humming all the night! – Purchased this refrigerator back in mid 2012 when I moved into my first home. Started to find this noise coming from this baby probably a year or two later and tried with everything I can but didn’t help much. As I am not a person sensitive to noise, I managed to live with it. Until late 2015, my fiancé (now my husband) moved in and he is… Read more

constantly annoyed and bothered by the humming noise coming from this 6 yo baby and is getting so loud that we have to switch it off most nights to get ourselves to have peaceful nights. Even my in-laws who come to house sitting late last year commented that my refrigerator is really a noise maker all time when they were here. I was so embarrassed. As of today, only read about these reviews at this moment to learn that the noise could possibly coming from the fan or the compressor, but it is all too late as we have decided to go to shop for a new fridge and leave this old baby in the shed as a back up or use only when needed.

Don’t believe Electrolux would entertain a out of warranty product buyer, anyway, I am not prepared to try another Electrolux product again...

Very Reliable Fridge – One of the best fridges I've ever owned. Keeps a regular temperature throughout in all compartments. Doesn't make a peep and is easy to take apart the shelves to clean etc. We have not had any issues with it in the 3+ years we have owned it. The stainless steel is very easy to wipe clean, and the hinges and seals have all held up well to regular use.  Show details

very happy with this fridge – We are very satisfied with our Electrolux EBM4300SDR which has been going strong without skipping a beat since we bought it in Sep 2015. exactly what it's supposed to and is very reliable. It is also a pretty good looking fridge and well made.

Everything is easy to store and access and unlike some reviewers (each to their own!) we actually love the generous amount of space devoted to ice as we use a lot of it.

Pro tip- be careful placing heavy objects (like big glass bottles- i.e. VOSS brand) in the door shelves, if you drop it you might smash the shelf. This happened to us and even though it was totally our fault, Electrolux replaced the shelf without any issue. Can't fault their service.

Wish I paid more for a better design – It probably works okay for a fridge. I say okay because things freeze at the rear i the fridge. But the design of the shelving is irritating. Standard sizes of common house hold items do not fit. Only 1 litre cardboard cartons of milk fit on the top shelf, the door compartments are flimsy, (half broke) and restrictive. The freezer compartment is… Read more

tiny and heaps of the space is devoted to an ice cube maker ( which is partly removable). I bought this model because it had the best star rating, so that is good, but next time i need a fridge i will take empty containers with me and check that they fit in the shelves in a logical place.

Unreliable Fridge! – Originally bought in 2009. First fridge only lasted a few months before it broke. Repaired quickly under warranty but then broke AGAIN a year or so later on Boxing Day, with a fridge full of food! Again they came out and relaced a part. Broke AGAIN a year or so later.... they actually replaced the whole Fridge this time in 2013. Then in 2017… Read more

Just returned from a 6 week holiday to find the Fridge part is not working AT ALL and the Freezer is full of ice. So this only lasted 4 years. Totally unreliable product. Also on both the fridges the door seal of the Freezer has been "loose" and constantly fills up with ice. The only good thing was their customer service when it was under warranty, which was excellent. but I would prefer a product that was reliable. I believe this model has been discontinued but I wouldn't by another Electrolux product and am now considering cancelling the service call to repair it and putting that money towards a different brand...

The freezer drawers are very flimsy – Within the first year of this fridge's life, the freezer drawers came unhinged and fell out. One has been replaced and the other has since fallen apart and it is now out of warranty. The concept of having a freezer with pullout drawers is all well and good, provided that the drawers don't collapse on you when you pull them out. Very disappointing.  Show details

Very happy with it – Does its job well. No complaints. Owned since Jun 2016 since old Westinghouse 2 door was too wide to fit. came the very busy guy, he said he has 12 jobs scheduled for that Saturday. After spend maxium 5 minutes checking it, he said there is blockage inside those tubes and he cannot repair it onsite, I need pay another $120 for them to transport it to workshop then pay $400 to fix it. He also revealed that every fridge nowadays is designed to last five years or so, even I fixed current issue, other issues may come. In a nutshell as far as I - the customer concerned, the fridge is dead.

I paid $185 then the guy left after stay in our home for 10 minutes and rush for the next job. 12 jobs that day means he cannot stay long in any customer site. It is in his best interest to declare the fridge is unrepairable or not worth repair, or he might be just honest.

I will never know the fridge can be fixed within reasonable amount or not, because I decide to move on. And I will never buy another product from Electrolux or Westing house or whatever brand the group own.

The noise is driving us crazy, forget customer service – The noise is unbearable and customer service are not much help. Basically the fridge is noisy, it then gets unbelievably noisy before the compressor cuts out. A technician came to take a look, what a waste of time. phone customer service any they will give you a new one if you tell them the problem,I even phoned him up soon after he left to come back to take another listen, off course no answer. I called customer service they said he done a"diagnostic check" which revealed nothing, what a lie, all he did was use the internet to see if there was any similar issues for the same model which he said there was not, I showed him this website and he was lost for words. Two possible outcomes,1. The fridge should sound like this then in my opinion it should not be on the market,2. A long struggle to get any sort of service from Electrolux.

Electrolux learn from your competitors in how to deal with your customers or you will not have any left, my advice buy from an Asian company who will rectify immediately and not worry about $150 call out charge.
