Purchased used- Minor repairs only – many people have faulted the main circuit board - this is not an Electrolux problem this is due to lead free solder being mandated to be used - solder joints cracked is the actual problem. Belts wear - so do rollers - common to all brands - i have found this to be a fantastic dryer . Show details
Very happy with it – I bought it over 9 years ago. Still works well. Just takes a bit longer now. Used 2-3 times a week. Already looking for a replacement in case it breaks. Hope it keeps working a bit longer. Show details
Great dryer – Bought this dryer 2nd hand in 2010 or 2011 (can't quite remember?. It has not skipped a beat for 12 years! 2 days ago, it stopped mid cycle & power just died. Booked a service call, technician comes out tmrw. If repair costs less then $400, I'll be happy. Pretty sure it just needs a new control panel. With the $155 flat call out fee inc… Read more
labour, plus part, Im ok with that. Better then spending over $1000+ for a new condenser dryer. We will wait & see.

Bought 2nd hand with very little use; used frequently; just replaced heating element – Have owned for 15 months. Is used frequently, once a week in Summer and a few times a week in Winter. Dries clothes fine but the sensor dry has never seemed to work. Still going 2023! Show details
Fluffy towels – We bought this dryer seven years ago because we wanted one that did not require ducting to vent the damp air to outside. We only use it once a week to dry our towels. It makes them nice and fluffy. Then about a month ago it just stopped and no longer would power up. After some research, I found this forum which seems to have a lot of people with … Read more
the same problem. So after reading peoples experiences with repairs etc. I decided to order a new control board from Genuine Appliance Parts on line. It was sent very promptly, arriving in a week at a total cost of $277.84.
I dismantled the dryer and replaced the control assembly. This took a couple of hours to figure out how it came apart. Now it works like a dream again. Yes you might have expected an expensive appliance to last longer than what people have experienced but all electronics is subject to failure at some point. Its a bit of a lucky dip.
Very Happy – We have never had a problem with this condenser drying system. In fact, it was the cheapest we have purchased and have had no issues, compared to other dryers. Very simple to operate. We use the machine a few times a week and are very happy with its drying performance Show details

No longer working! – Had this dryer for around 7 years and use most weeks. Has broken down 3 times with number 4 breakdown rendering it totally useless. Learned to replace the belt as broke twice and was not going to pay $200 for a $30 part. Still would expect better quality from this brand. Stay away as had similar issues with our Electrolux vacuum. Don't buy Electrolux – New in 2013 No power and won't do anything, my son is an electrician and ran his tester over the electrics and found power into the unit ok , so must be an internal problem. We have rarely used the unit , just occasionally to get out of trouble. Should last longer than this. So disappointed. Don't buy Electrolux dryers Show details
Terrible product, expected to last much longer – Worked fine for 5 years or so, only being used once a week. So maybe 300 or so loads of washing and then it just died. Seems like pretty much every single person who purchased this model has the same problem. Expect better from a supposedly “good” brand. There is obviously a problem with the quality of components of this keeps happening. Now do I… Read more
pay $400 to get it fixed and hope it lasts longer the second time, or just go buy a brand new cheaper brand for the same price? Easy decision. Will never buy Electrolux again.

Unreliable. Kept in perfect condition and lasted less than 7 years – Purchased matching washing machine and dryer. Washing machine stopped working first and required multiple repairs. After second time of paying for repairs it was uneconomical so bought a Miele instead. Have heard from multiple sources they last up to 20 years. My brother bought exactly the same washing machine at exactly the same time and had… Read more

Now electrolux dryer has just stopped dead.
High cost to fix. Very disappointed.
Will never buy electrolux again and will recommend all friends and family not to buy electrolux.

Loved it....when it worked – I bought this dryer along with the matching washing machine and with the price i paid along with the brand, I thought I would get at least 10 years from them. The washing machine was first to go and I had to buy a cheaper washing machine because i couldnt afford the repair (3 months out of warranty). The dryer has now ended up becoming a oaper… Read more
weight as well! The belt has now been replaced twice at a cost of almost $200 a pop. Now the temperature sensor has gone and the part has been discontinued. Another replacement job. I have now learned a very expensive lesson. Brand name and price no longer equals quality and longevity.

Good at start but just stopped and expensive to repair – I purchased this product late in 2012 with a matching front loader washing machine. This was far more expensive than other brands and like many comments here, was hoping to get a quality product. When the machine was about 5 yrs old, it just stopped. Drum and exterior perfect, just now power it seemed. Hardly uses, maybe once a week to do… Read more
towels, so was not heavily used during the period.
S;pent funds to get it looked at, to discover power was getting to the unit, but the PCB was mostl likely blown.
Again, sounds very similar to many other reviews for around this time period of use.....got a quote of $328 to replace board, along with the $66 to have it looked at. Ridiculous that it is almost $400 to repair given from externally it would be classed “as new”.
I thought I was paying more for a quality product, reviews here seem to indicate this is a manufacturing fault with the product as many are reporting exactly the same problem and similar timeframe.
I’d hope Electrolux would come to the party to rectifying this issue because paying double what cheaper dryer cost only to get 5 years of minimal use is not value for money. Like the look and feel of the products, but wary now of the brand which is disappointing.

Dud Don't Buy – Purchased in July 2012 for $768. Has only had light use. Now just a piece of metal sitting in the laundry. It has no power and I have been given a quote of $508 to fix. Sorry Electrolux but I will buy not be buying your products in the future, Show details

6 Years old and has just died. Would have expected longer considering the cost! – Mine is 6 years old and has just stopped working. Went to use it the other day and nothing...dead. I was also happy with its overall performance, Would have expected it to last much longer than this, considering what it cost! Have had trouble with Electrolux before. Should have known better. Never ever will I buy another product made by this company. Show details
Died after 6 years - don't buy this product – Stopped working after 5 years and needs a new power board. Cost is $448 to repair. Electrolux are not interested in helping they just expect you to pay another $448. The product was good while it worked. I think I should have been given a credit on a new dryer to be fair to the consumer. Will never buy an Electrolux again!! Show details
Same problem, the power board died mid cycle – My dryer is about 7 years old and have to say it doesn't dry anything properly unless it is on the cupboard setting but loved how quite it was and how it would just scene dry everything on that setting. Then one day in the middle of a cycle it died. It cost me $150 just to find out what was wrong with it. The power board blew, the dryer guy said… Read more
this can happen at any time but he agreed less then 10 years from a white good was ridiculous. It will cost me another $448 to by the "PCB Board - DLT5" $328 plus another $80 labor. It seems I was lucky though since I did get about 7 years out of it.

Almost 5 years to the day it was purchased and it has stopped working – Bought this unit almost 5 years ago with a matching washer. Have been very happy with its overall performance but it would seem like so many other reviews on this site it gave up the ghost after what seems to be a short life span. I paid over $800 for this unit choosing to buy what I thought was a quality unit from a quality brand. I will not be so quick to buy Electrolux again. Show details
What a waist! – It never dried the clothes properly unless it was set on extra dry. Now it refuses to start, even when we try it empty! It didn't last long, just a bit over 2 years. This is the second Electrolux laundry appliance that stops working soon after the 2nd year passes. Very disappointed for the money we paid. Never again Electrolux in our house. Show details

Died mid-cycle after 4 years doesn't power up – Terrible product before it died it never dried anything fully unless on hottest setting. So disappointed with this purchase. Then mid cycle it shuts down and refuses to power up again. I came to this site and saw customer care responses, so I emailed them before airing my grevance online. Don't get too excitied if you have an issue, they certainly haven't got back to me. Show details
Very Disapointed All Round – We purchased this dryer in 2011 (only 5 years ago) for approximately $800 as we were told by the Sales Person that it is a great make. Oh boy, were we disappointed in Electrolux! It does not work some days and if it does it no longer heats up so it is basically useless to me as without the heat the close do not dry. I believe to have it fixed is going to cost $500 plus! I will never buy an Electrolux again. Show details

Disappointed with a brand we used often at home! – We purchased this 5 years ago (11/09/2011) and one day out of the blue, the dryer just stopped working! Was upset about it as we don't use the dryer that much. Called Electrolux and got their technician to come in to have a check on 03/11/2016. Was not happy when he told me the motherboard died! Not impressed as it is just about 5 years old!… Read more
Paid $420 out of pocket to change the motherboard + call out fees. I regret not purchasing a new one! Didn't expect the cause was motherboard. Was hoping something less expensive~
Stayed in a property with a very old dryer (F & P brand) and never died even though with constant use as it was in the apartment.
Would have expected an Electrolux dryer to last longer than this. Very disappointed.
No surprised this has been discontinued! – Bang on 3 years an suddenly it stops working mid load. We don't use the dryer often, about 1x a week, as I like to line dry our clothes but like fluffy towels. I've had the repair man out $95+gst later, only to tell me it's $500+call out +time to repair! Sounds like I should have saved my money and bought a $300 f&p first time around instead of a… Read more

A big disappointment – After a few months the sensor component would not work otherwise it did an adequate job. Now it has just stopped working altogether. For the price of the dryer it has been a disappointing experience as I would have thought it would last quite a bit longer. Suggest that you stay away from similar products. Show details

Drum needs to be manually turned to get dryer to work – Just like previous posters who were unfortunate enough to purchase this condenser dryer our unit never actually runs when the start button is pressed. It requires anywhere from 1 to countless manual rotations of the drum until it will randomly decide to start going. Very helpful with a 1 year old and lots of washing around...not! repaired before and repair guy says next time just replace the PCB or just buy a new one. If I knew they were disposable I would have bought a cheapy from Aldi!
Are there any techies out there who have experienced this before and know what the fault is? I'm sure a $0.10 part on the PCB has failed which I could replace myself rather than buy a whole new PCB for $360 (or $660 from Electrolux).
Otherwise it's time to buy a new dryer but NEVER Electrolux.
Second time dryer has failed – Have had dryer for 6 yrs. Mother board failed couple of months into owning it and had to wait for 3 months for it to be fixed- mid wet season. Now died suddenly for no reason. Always well maintained. I would expect more for your money. DO NOT BUY ELECTROLUX. Poor quality and service very dodgy. Show details

A lemon just like all the other reported failures – I have had this for about 3-4 years now, was convinced to by Electrolux and spend a fair wack on the "better" condenser model. I was smooth sailing for about 18-24 months, then it started dropping out mid cycle with red flashing lights. Only occasionally to start, and i figured i just needed to clean out the filters, condenser etc more often. Its… Read more
degraded further and further since and now fails to start most times. I have to manual turn the drum and start it, let if fail and then open and turn the drum again by hand and start it again.
So then I went looking on forums to see if people have had similar problems and there are complaints everywhere! Seriously for the cost of this dryer this something that should not be happening, Electrolux should be recalling the dryers regardless of their age as there are clearly multiple quality or design issues with these dryers.
Personally, I would steer very clear of every buying an Electrolux again.

It is called 'Sensor Dry' but doesn't sense when the washing is dry! – We purchased the above model in May 2012 because we wanted a condenser dryer. We have had sensomatic dryers for over 30 years. This particular dryer always stays hot. The 10 min cooling cycle leaves the washing hot. I believe the thermostat doesn't work. Electrolux picked up the dryer in January 2013 and returned it without comment. It was still… Read more
the same. Since we purchased extended warranty I contacted Electrolux again in May 2015. The repair guy mentioned that he had changed quite a few thermostats lately. We had to wait for the insurer to give him the go ahead for the repair. But guess what? The washing still stays hot. The cooling cycle doesn't cool at all. When I dry washing on the line and just tumble it to get the towels fluffy the cycle still takes at least half an hour which to me indicates that the sensor doesn't work, and we waste electricity. I would never ever buy an Electrolux dryer again. Very disappointing.

Dryer has stopped, and customer service is terrible - even with extended warranty! – We purchased a household full of Electrolux appliances approximately 3 years ago. The dishwasher failed suddenly and it took almost 4 months of arguing with the extended warranty representatives as well as the retailer before the issue was resolved. Now the dryer has stopped heating up, and we have essentially been told we have to go through the… Read more
entire process again - and be without a working dryer for several months. Terrible customer service and almost useless extended warranty. For a price of over $800, I would expect much more. Electrolux, you are not in my good books right now! Surely your products should last more than 3 years?? I wonder which appliance will fail next?

Electrolux EDC47130W - stopped working! – Sitting here staring at my dryer in the middle of winter and all it's doing is humming and not much else. Disappointed considering the amount we spent and now have some wet clothes that will take a week to dry the old fashioned way. Will stay clear of Electrolux in future!
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! – I am furious! I've had my dryer not quite 4yrs and it has just stopped working! Won't even turn on. I love this dryer and it has worked a dream since I got it. I paid about $800 for it and I was expecting to have it for many years but this is just ridiculous!! Not happy at all!!!

Electrolux sensor dryer – Wow. What can I say. I found these reviews when looking for instructions on how to get my dryer working. It the most expensive dryer I have ever bought and the at lasted the least time. My old dryer is still working after I… Read more
passed it onto my son. Not impressed. Won't be buying any Electrolux product again. You expect value for money and this is far from it. Clearly ther is a problem with quality and the length of time the appliance will last.

Stopped suddenly without warning – We purchased an Electrolux edc47130w on a recommendation as we were in a small unit and it has been a great drier, we have upgraded our house and laundry and installed the drier. After completing a load of drying on the weekend to its usually great standards next load we tried mid week the drier decided not to spin or dry clothes, can hear the motor humming but no movement. Not super stoked given its the time of year we would use it most.
Dryer EDC47130W Suddenly stopped drying – We have own an Electrolux EDC47130W for about 3 years now, it all of a sudden stopped drying our clothes. The dryer spins but does not get Hot! You think that after 3 years of ownership a fairly high end dryer would last longer than this. VERY DISAPPOINTED! Being in the mist of Winter in Melbourne and with the dryer not working. Not happy JAN!

Dryer EDC47130W suddenly stopped working – As with Daniel our Electrolux dryer stopped working after 4 years with no pre warning. Manual does not provide any suggestions, tried unplugging & rep lugging the machine in to no avail! Desperately need a dryer & it died on me at the wrong time - leading into rain & winter season. Won't be buying Electrolux again very dusappointing. Like to see if Electrlux will respond at all.
Electrolux EDC47130W Stopped suddenly! – This machine the EDC47130W condenser dryer was highly recommended to us by our local appliance shop. fridge for over 8 years no problems. We have used this machine less than 100 times and exactly 4 years to the day it stopped suddenly, have checked the manual, (guess what? no reset button) so disappointed in this machine, $6.97 per load just to have this machine... Joke... i have had it with spending money on a product and not getting any value from said product! Looking forward to a reply Electrolux!
May 31st 2018 Update: What a complete waste of time this machine has turned out to be....!!!!
This machine the Electrolux EDC47130W condenser dryer again has again stopped working with little use "5 loads in winter 2017" put a load in yesterday 30/05/2017 first of the year, as it was raining, turned on the machine and it did nothing but make a buzzing noise, did not turn. In the past the machine stopped working in May 2016 and Leslie from Electrolux "Customer Care" replied to my Product Review and within 3 weeks the machine was fixed by a technician who was a complete professional, he had the Dryer working with a replacement part within the hour. Well done i thought " always ready to give the benefit of the doubt" But alas the machine has again stopped performing what it was designed for, just drying clothes! I am fed up with this machine and will not buy nor recommend another Electrolux product again, what a waste of time and money...!!! Looking forward to a reply Electrolux!.....again...!!
