Turned me into a terrible cook – Started out ok but I soon discovered my cooking skills were terrible... they mysteriously went downhill overnight. It wasn’t until I stayed elsewhere for a year that I realised it was the oven and not me. On my return home I bought a $9 oven thermometer. I discovered I had been trying to bake at temperatures 30° below what they should have been.… Read more

After reading reviews here I’ve decided to get rid of it and buy a Bosche. I shall not bother to get it fixed as judging from these reviews it’s a waste of time and money.

Seemed OK at first, now awful – Initially we were happy with our double oven. Then the lower oven door stopped closing properly and the upper oven refused to brown anything. Testing the temperature showed that it was always 20 or more degrees below the set temperature and was highly variable during cooking. It is impossible to get the temperature over 200C unless you turn on the grill. This is the worst oven I have ever used, and I am 50. Show details

Totally disappointed – We purchased this oven with much excitement when we updated our kitchen in 2013. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am with this oven. The heat leaks out from the oven door and eventually distorts the digital read-out panel. If you are cooking for any length of time the oven switches itself off. Basically happy! – We've had the oven in for about 6 weeks ago & so far so good! My husband bought it to replace our 40+ y.o.double oven that had died. I can't fault the service from Appliances Online, we had to change the delivery day & it was no problem at all & the staff were cheerful, polite and efficient! The oven was installed & I was advised to run it… Read more ·  1

at the highest temp possible first, by my electrician, to burn off any chemical residue. I'm glad I did this as the first use did smell like chemicals.

So far we have cooked several roasts , vegetables & frozen meals but I have not baked yet. Overall the results have been very good. When using the fan forced baking feature, the roast potatoes placed in the middle of the oven, were perfect as was the Xmas turkey however next time I will leave off the foil longer to allow more browning.. I haven't noticed any "hot spots" either. I particularly like the fact that the oven assists itself to cool down with a fan & the door is reasonably cool to touch.

I was hesitant of having buttons, when I have been used to dials, but the kids & I have gotten used to them & I find the temperature guides handy(especially if the kids are using the oven for heating or cooking frozen crumbed stuff!)

Its a pity that the top oven has more features in the controls than the bottom oven. I find the bottom oven at a better height to use.

The main negative would be the position of the telescopic runners. I find that these are in silly positions, ie too close to the element, & I wish that I could position them lower within the oven, as they are handy for cooking heavy roasts like turkey. There is also an excess of accessories. While using both ovens at Xmas, I had no where to store the excess racks not being used. I have now decided to not use the baking & grill trays due to the difficulty of washing them in the sink,(too big) instead placing a smaller tray on top. The grill tray is also far too shallow and overflowed while cooking 8 thin sausages. There is also a residual smell in the oven after cooking, but I have been told that this is due to the catalytic liners absorbing the oil, it disappears after an hour or so.

Overall pretty happy, but I'm still learning to use all the programs & using buttons instead of dials.. 2 x fully functional ovens, telescopic runners, programable features Telescopic runners are in the wrong places & can't be changed, too many trays & the grill tray too shallow, & large to wash & handle

Setting top oven temperature – Every time you set the top oven temperature you must turn the dial right around clockwise then back to the temperature you want otherwise it won't reach the temperature you want. Otherwise it's a great cooker, very spacious oven compartments and easy clean hob. Would certainly buy another but I wish Electrolux would fix the temperature dial. I'd been making for 20 years became hit and miss. I tried all the variations of bake, fan assist bake, fan only etc.

I persevered as I was getting used to a new oven and didn't complain to Electrolux soon enough. By the time I'd read others reviews my warranty period was up. When I did contact Electrolux the person I eventually spoke to was more concerned about pointing out how few complaints Electrolux get compared with the number of ovens they sell worldwide. Was not at all sympathetic to the problems I was having. Said I could pay for a serviceman to come out and check the oven.

That was going to be a minimum $130 . . I paid almost $3000 for this oven, it has never worked properly. I don't believe that

Electrolux was unaware that this model is/was a lemon from the beginning. I booked the serviceman, then cancelled truly believing I would get no where and not prepared to pay for parts for an oven that never worked properly in the first place. I've had cheaper ovens over 20 years old that worked beautifully.

I bought a $10 thermometer to use with this oven and discovered temps vary up to 30 degrees. It was always a bad oven and Electrolux should have acknowledged that and taken some responsibility. I'm not surprised it was discontinued. Would never buy Electrolux again. From my experience Electrolux does not care about their customers. Truly disappointed and feel robbed.

Terrible customer service, unfriendly tech – Bought this 5 years ago and have never being very happy as the heat seems to escape the oven quite a bit. the door doesn't shut properly. unfriendly rude tech out to look at it, tells me the cool fan is gone and this has recked the front panel. Both will need replacing at my cost since the warranty has just expired. not happy, through no fault of mine did the cooling fan go and now it has started to wreak other parts of the oven. Will see how long the repairs last. Hopefully for a long time because i sure do not want to get another visit from their tech.

You would think though when you purchase an expensive product like this it would last a long time?????????!!!!!???????

Not the greatest oven I've had – To all of those that have bought this oven, the problem lies in the plates they have at the sides and back of oven. The technician that came put the side and back… Read more

plates (sorry can't recall what they are called) on the bottom oven but not on the top one. He said they prevent the oven from heating up properly. Sure enough the top oven worked much better and the bottom oven that had the plates in them didn't. As for self cleaning. That was a joke. It never worked. It was just a waste of electricity and I still can't get it really clean. I think there are better products on the market. I have a friend who has just purchased the new version of this oven so I will see how she goes with it. She does a massive amount of cooking so it will really test it out and see if they have ironed out the issues.

Very disappointed - door not closing properly – Bought 5 years ago as part of a new kitchen install. cheap choice. After an initial problem with the thermostat on the bottom oven which was fixed under warranty I thought all was good, but no. Over the last two years the top door is becoming looser and looser. There is now a permanent cm gap so it permanently sits slightly ajar. Very frustrating when trying to bake bread and keeping the oven up to a high temp when so much heat is escaping (and not a cost effective method of cooking either). Have emailed the customer care email address listed on their website for NZ THREE TIMES over the last 3 months about the problem and there has been absolutely no response. Completely flabbergasted about being ignored like that. Incredibly poor customer service.

Also am now reading that this seems to be a recurring problem with these ovens - why hasn't Electrolux done something about this if it is an inherent problem?

Very disappointed and not recommended – We have had our Electrolux EDEE63AS (recommend by Brother in law & friends as they have the same oven) 4-5 years now and just as it was out of its warranty (2013/14) the oven was not heating up correctly and discovered that the thermostat was not working. things seemed to be going fine until last weekend and we were hosting a dinner party and it took us over 3 hours to cook the meat and roast the potatoes as they were just not browning. Any way we got the tech out again today 28 July 2015 and the same board has gone AGAIN! Not happy :( .

I have spoken to Electrolux to say what can you do being that the same component has gone again and the guy on the phone said sorry once the part is over 12 months old that is it. They were not interested in meeting the cost whatsoever!! I am most certainly not happy with Electrolux and the way that they treat their customers. We now have to wait as the tech has to order the part and then he will be back out. Lets see how long I have to wait and then how long that part is going to last. Won't buy with them again.

What a disappointment, – I purchased my double oven 3 years ago. It was to be my dream oven for my retirement but unfortunately does not perform as an oven should. no obvious fault with the oven, but then bought an oven thermometer and realized the oven doesn't heat to the correct temperature or increases/decreases the temp for no reason. The temperature can decrease significantly when the cake is placed in the oven, but does not reheat quickly if at all. The temperature variations are not consistent. Unfortunately I discovered this just after the 2 year warranty expired. I wouldn't recommend this oven at all.

If you cook do not buy this oven – Fo1 error code - 4 times repaired - on off switch replaced for door light - touch the steel shelf and oven turns off - cannot brown a roast - uneven heat - dangerous electrical appliance. April 5th 2017 Update: When will companies be held accountable like Electrolux I have had a long history of previous reviews on this double oven. After… Read more

having the double oven replaced in full - i now discover that the grill that we all use a lot in our cooking process does the following:

Turn on to full or half grill - the instructions say set over settings then close oven.

The oven turns on and as it reaches full temperature the d\grill comes on for about 1 minute then turns off the grill element and l;eaves the oven on as the element thinks it has reached full temp.

I had a service call out and apparently Electrolux service division say that is correct and nothing wrong with oven.

WOW - So if you want to grill or finish a dish with full or half grill on you have 1 x minute to do or the oven turns off the top grill.

Same is for both ovens.

Absolutely disgusting because they are all built in around very expensive cabinetry and when we design new homes / kitchens we have many rows of oven, Drawers, cabinets fridges etc. in the layout of our kitchens,

So it is virtually impossible to find another oven / or ovens to fit this cabinet.

No where in the manual does it say anything about the Grill does not stay on ??

December 5th 2017 Update: Electrolux customer service Products and warranty

This over has been fully replaced once and the grill portion of the oven still fails. I have had three different technicians out from the Electrolux authorised service people and all have proven that this is a fault in the ovens.

Both top oven and bottom oven are effected.

What Happens:

When you turn on the grill half or full the instruction is to close the door then the grill gets red then turns off after 3 to 5 min. Something in this oven switches off the grill - SO tell me how on earth can you you grill chops, Crisp up pork crackle grill tomatoes - in fact grill anything.

The customer service says we will look into this - I have approx 8 records with them to fix this now they go black - Nothing - NO ownership No brand protection - Hence this very clear warning do not buy Electrolux equipment.

At least Electrolux MUST warn customers that the Grill Actually stops after 3 to 5 minutes and that is per there Technical division replies to my Tech on site.

It seems like a fob off and disgraceful for a company to sell this product and the new are the same.

between inner and outer door seems poor as it always looks like its dirty. The runners are in poor locations and cannot be changed...too close to grill.

This is the second electrolux product that has been lemons. We were also unfortunate to purchase a front loading washing machine that always broke down and didn't wash clothes that well with a spin cycle that left clothes quite wet.

This is a real shame! The products looks well designed and their features on paper are excellent. However the reality is that they underperform so something that should be pleasurable like cooking becomes a frustrating affair.

Oven was terrible BUT Customer Service was even worse! – If you want customer confidence then do not buy Electrolux. After paying $2500 for our double oven, waiting 8 times up to 5 hours each time (ie. around 40 hours) for a service technician to come and "guess" what is wrong, after being told someone would call me on two(2) occasions and never hearing back and to then be told that I should have… Read more

followed up "quicker" when no one called me....I ended up outside my warranty period. The oven still does not work well. It doesn't get hot enough or dry enough, I am not sure which, but I do know the food doesn't cook to a cooks standard. Potatoes will NOT get crispy, you need to add up to an hour on product/recipe instructions for food to cook through properly. I was left with the option to have a service technician come out AGAIN! I just wanted a refund or at worst a replacement. The oven is a "lemon". I wrote to the Managing Director and I received a letter back stating I was outside my warranty period so the best they could do was give me a courtesy price on a new oven. I may have been outside my warranty but they had heard from me a number of times within the warranty and the "same" problem existed throughout my calls. It still wasn't fixed! Stay away from Electrolux. Go with another brand you can trust will do the right thing by the customer. The oven looked beautiful! Doesn't cook food that you can trust will be cooked through. A bit of a risk when you like to entertain!

Do Not Buy This Oven – I wish I had read the reviews on this oven prior to purchasing it (lesson learnt). The old version has been replaced with a new version but still has the same problems. actually work on problem - as no time is given for service, just a date.

When I called Electrolux to tell them temperature had not improved at all after two repairs, they were very rude and read out what the serviceman had entered into their system, which was contradictory to what he told me when he visited. He had agreed with me that the temperature was not acceptable and not within the Australian Standard. I finally got a Manager to return my call and was told that it could not be improved and although they considered it acceptable, they would pick it up and give me a refund. They would not agree to refunding the delivery charge or the cost of my kitchen cupboard modifications. I was told that a new double oven would fit in the existing hole. As I could not find another double oven I liked, I ended up having to re-modify cupboards to fit two single ovens - much better choice and wish I had thought of it before as both ovens have full range of functions.

I'm not quite sure why they would pick it up and give me a refund if it was in fact acceptable and within Australian Standards, as they claimed.

Luckily I can work from home so although frustrating, was not too much of a problem. I suspect that people who cannot work from home would give up before reaching a resolution as it would be too hard to take 4 days off work (not to mention another day for delivery and having to modify cupboards).

So at the end of all this, I wasted a lot of time and am out of pocket a few hundred dollars but am happy with my Bosch ovens and will never buy an Electrolux product again. Looks Good, electronic controls, good internal size Does not reach correct temperature

temperature up high for pork crackling, I was engulfed in hot steam when I opened the oven. I don't seem to be able to follow normal cooking times for roast meat. It is down to guess work as to when meat is cooked properly.

I have to keep watching cakes and biscuits, AND my bought thermometer, when baking them. It is hard to keep the oven on an even temp. Electrolux told me I could get an authorised repair man to look at it, but I would have to pay if he can't find anything wrong with it. Contacted repairer today, and was told if all parts are working, Electrolux won't cover the under warranty visit. Also, temperature testing on the various functions, would take longer than the half hour that Electrolux allow for warranty visits, and they won't negotiate any longer time on warranty visits. without too much instruction.

However, getting it to maintain an even temperature anywhere near the set value is pure luck. Putting a separate temperature gauge in the oven revealed that it is never near the specified temperature with a range of 10-30 degrees consistently out. We had a service technician come out to look at it, but he was so scary that my wife wanted him out of the house as soon as possible. The standard response was that if the oven was within 20 degrees of the specified temperature then it was working to design specifications.

Would we buy one again, NO, would we buy Electrolux (or any Email product again) NO. It looks great. With the internal lights on it still looks great. The functional controls are excellent and easy to understand and use. Can't heat properly, does not reset temperatures correctly after opening doors, provides uneven heat distribution even in fan-forced mode causing base burning, centre cooling, and all odds and ends. If it was consistent you could work around the problems but the heating is so hit and miss. The ventilation system gets clogged with pork grease causing the oven that is used to cook the roast pork to smoke every time you cook in it, so effectively rules it out for anything but smoked pork. The functions available in the bottom oven are not the same as the top oven, which seems rather strange.

Slow to Heat! Temperatures all wrong – We purchased the EDEE63CS Double Oven but so far have been very disappointed. Both the Top and Bottom ovens are very slow to heat up and the thermostats are reading about 20-25 degrees higher than the actual temperatures. We tested this using an oven thermometer, and found that when the Oven readout said the cooking temperature was reached (say… Read more

180)the actual temperature was 100 and that was on a good day!

The literature says that the ovens have a rapid heat up feature but even after 20 minutes we are lucky to hit the 180 mark. The bottom oven is particularly bad at heating up.

Naturally the service people have been to have a look and diagnosed that the "Brain box" needed replacing which they did today. Guess what - nothing has changed! On Monday we will be asking them to sort out all the problems or take it back.

Maybe we have been unlucky enough to get a lemon but it sounds like other people have had similar issues, so what is the problem here Electrolux? Our old double oven (which we now regret dumping) was at least 20 years old and took very little time to get to 180-200 degrees. Maybe they just made them better back then!! Good looks Takes forever to heat up and temperature controls very inaccurate.

Don't burn your cash on this oven because it can't even get hot enough – This oven is junk. Don't waste your money. Ours has never worked since day one. A lot of heat is vented from the front of the oven, it never reaches correct temp. Food is undercooked, soggy pastry, takes six hours to cook a simple meal because it never gets hot enough. Very frustrated. Electrolux was called twice and they denied there being … Read more

problem, despite my undercooked food being proof of the faulty product that they poorly designed / manufactured. Since we are now out of the warranty period they are offering no additional support to the existing problem and said that we would have to pay $95 plus $35 for 15 min that a service person is at the house to troubleshoot the "oven".

We have had our own electrician troubleshoot the oven and he tested the oven and the lower burner never turns on. This has been the exact same problem since the beginning. Did we get the oven broke from the get go?

Customer service at Electrolux was rude and on the defensive. I was told to take "responsibly for my decision in the purchase" GASP! Well i'm sorry for expecting to get a product that works! - I told them to "take responsibility for producing products that work"

This oven is a BAD BAD BUY. I will never buy another product from this brand as I don't trust their workmanship and their customer care is sub-par.

I'm getting ready to remove this oven and buy a new one that works.

Never reaches correct temperature, Vents lot of heat, food undercooked, malfunction,

Brand new oven and was useless from the get-go! – Has anyone had any luck getting the temperature problem sorted? I bought this oven less than 7 months ago and have never been able to cook properly. I have taken my complaint to the store and Electrolux are due to send someone out, but they haven't contacted yet. I have bought an oven thermometer to test and it is about 30 degrees off...as a… Read more

result the oven doesn't heat up properly. Have not been able to bake a cake in the expensive oven. I totally regret the purchase. Don't be fooled by the flash looks...it's rubbish! The other thing that happens is the trays warp when the oven eventually heats up, which means they come off the telescopic rods. One rack has bent out of shape from the heat (which may be due to uneven heat distribution). I don't think this oven was ever designed to cook!!! The only thing good about the oven is it's looks! If you want an oven for show only then buy it. Because of the faulty temperature experience, none of the functions work properly. If you want a cake runny in the middle and burnt on the outside this is the oven for you.

Excellent – Apart from the mishap when cooking my first roast this oven is a pleasure to use. The self-cleaning inserts do make life much easier. There are two lights in the upper oven and one in the lower oven which stay on when they are being used and makes it easy to keep your eye on things. The lay out of the buttons is sensible and do work in the… Read more ·  2

'normal' order of things. It looks very swish and has added a whole new life to my very eighties kitchen. Soooo very easy to use. Pre-sets are easy to adjust to your own personal requirements. It is easy to clean and to keep clean. First time I cooked a roast the fat splattered on to the inside of the upper door and continued running through the lower oven and into the pot drawer underneath. The telescopic arms can be a bit of a pest when trying to put either the griller pan or the fantastic baking dish onto them as they slide really easy.

Terrible – I will not buy this Brand again. I will change to gas. I do not trust ovens with complete glass doors. They should be a mixture of metal and glass like they use to be much safer. We replaced our WESTINGHOUSE with model and it also looks great. Still had the advantage of being able to grill toasted sandwiches. This oven does not retain its… Read more

temperature even though the reading says it does. The heat that comes out of the oven door is so hot I have to turn my air-con on. Now the glass has bowed on the inside to scared to use it just in case it explodes. Waiting to have door rplaced.

Hate this oven, very sorry I purchesed it – Oven needs to be used with an oven thermometer at all times as is around 20 degrees below the temperature you are trying to obtain, then it doesn't hold the temperature well. the bottom oven can take up to 1 hour to heat up(so much for the fast heat up sales pitch)The telescopic trays are a pain to use and I have removed them from the cupboard and… Read more

never use them this now makes several levels of the oven unuseable as you can not slide a normal tray on to them. Have also had the repair man remove the electronic board from the oven and replace it because the oven light kept turning itself on and off randomly even on days when the oven had not been used, the change over made no difference. Overall the worst oven I have ever used in my life, do not get caught with this product as I have been
