Kenwood Multipro Compact FPM250

Very disappointing. Poor performance – Blame myself. Usually research online before any kind of purchase but it was on sale and my Mum loved her Kenwood Chef so thought the brand would carry itself. Save your money and put it toward a better machine. This one has trouble blending a pancake batter. Disaster when anything gets remotely dense and sticky which limits it to very light tasks.

Good for blending water – From the moment I first used this machine there was a slight smell. The blender has been used about a dozen times over 15 months or so, mostly just to shred cabbage and other soft vege's. Was blending some peas for pea and ham soup when the motor just crapped itself. expect a food processor to be able to handle. Heaven forbid I would attempt to mix a dough or similar, I'd probably have a fire to deal with.

So this machine is perfect for people who want to ensure they get a well blended cordial, but if you need something that can reliably slice, dice, blend anything thicker than cream (I would caution that actually), go for something with a motor that is actually designed to do more than spin its own weight.

Very poor product – The motor has completely failed in under 4 years of intermittent, normal use. The failure comprised a stream of smoke, accompanied by a strong electrical smell, followed immediately by a dump of grey dust fthrough the vents at the bottom of the machine and total loss of power. Kenwood have failed to respond to repeated emails. Disgraceful performance and service. Would never buy a Kenwood product again.

Useless – What a waste of money. Wont chop food I have to keep stopping and scraping down the sides. Makes a terrible high pitched noise and has a burning smell from motor. So disappointed considering my old one of 2o years is still going. I gave that one away. Should have kept it.

Horrible Burnt Motor – Used purely for liquidiser and processor only. Burnt motor without having to do much work at all. I was really excited about this product when I purchased it. The spice mill is horrible. I only used it once before having to dump the chunks into my $10 coffee grinder which didn't fail.

Happy with my choice – I recently purchased a Kenwood Chef Major after much deliberation and am thrilled with my purchase. I decided I wanted a small food processor under $200, without too many unwanted attachments as a companion. This fits the bill. Lightweight, easy clean, performs as expected. juicer and can't see me ever using the acrylic blender as I have a glass one for my Major already. I was wary after the other poor reviews, but have been happy with the performance of this machine. Hopefully I don't have the same motor issues as the other reviewers, certainly no burning smell so far Compact, attractive unit. Not too many attachments I will never use. Acrylic blender a bit useless.

Thank goodness for refunds – Purchased this appliance as it had all the tools and gadgets required. Bowl is small; but there were no larger bowls available for under $500 in store. Waste of money – I am kicking myself for ever buying this food processor. what a complete waste of money. the replacement has that bruning smell when I use it too. it hasn't smoked yet so im still using it howver I am already planning to spend a bit more money and get the breville food wiz pro. I should have just spent a bit more the forst time and got something high quality that will last for years!! im kicking myself!! the slicer blades have already gone blunt and I havnt even used the juicer or bullet so I didn't need them in the first place. I used the blender a lot to begin with but it doesn't fully blend and the way it twists on to the base is shoddy. the base gets stuck on and old milk and fruit can get trapped in it making it stink!!! Wish I had seen the reviews first which is why I am writing mine now, for others to see. don't waste your money. spend more to get good quality. you get what you pay for

Bad juicer – The processor isn't too bad. Although left with chucks in my salsa and dips. But the juicer is terrible! Can't juice anything, started smoking, shakes my whole kitchen, very loud and scratched the inside of its bowl. Returned it and the new one does it too. So will now look for a better one
