Ozito 1100W Ecomow Electric Lawn Mower ECO-320

Just Nasty. Not worth bothering with – Ok, so the point of buying a smaller cheaper mower is to handle a small patch of lawn such as we have. But it still needs to be able to do the job. Everything about this product is rubbish The control is horrible and awkward to use, gives hand cramps after a few runs. The Motor is gutless. If it's putting out 1,100W, then I'm the Queen of… Read more
England. It cannot even cope with the tiny blades.
The feeding action doesn't work, so grass just builds up under the mower and stops the motor every few feet.
It has a catcher, but it doesn't actually work. Again grass just piles up at the entrance, and at most you'll get the catcher about a third full. Most of the grass simply spills out.
The catcher itself is more cheap lightweight plastic, secured by a couple of shallow clips, that most times simply don't work.
"Height Adjustment" requires you to tip the mower over and phaff about underneath.
Ultimately, this is nothing but a toy. Not even up to looking after the smallest patch of grass.
Good while it lasted – Very lightweight, inexpensive and simple to use. Adjusting the height is easy and I loved the ease of it starting straight away every time. Cut our small yard easily, have to empty the catcher frequently but that’s ok. Unfortunately after about 8 months it started rattling and vibrating and was extremely loud. It was vibrating so vigorously the… Read more
bolts rattled out of the handle. I had no idea how to fix it so given the cheap price I just replaced it.
Awesome mower kit – Brought the lawn mower, whipper snipper and blower. Could use a extra 2 battery as they run out on my small yard but if i mow first then recharger on a quick 15 min it gets the job done. Would be good for charging 2 while mowing with the other. Show details
Lawnmover that doesn't move – Terrible Lawn Mover I should say. Purchased 2 of the same model & brand and found both not doing the basic cutting of grass. Both came for 2 cuts and after that they stopped cutting. Everything works except cutting the grass. IT starts and blades rotate, but no grass is cut. Tried all options, no luck. Will not by this brand. Show details
Excellent. Then disappointment – Bought 2nd hand. Was in perfect condition and had only been used 3 times according to seller. Was only selling due to moving house and a larger lawn. This was the first time I had ever mowed a lawn. I am 60+ female. Fabulous. Up and down gentle slopes. I thought I can do this! Yes I had to empty the catcher a few times but I can deal with… Read more
that. That was 2 weeks ago. In the meantime, I studied the user manual online and I adjusted the mowing height to high with the aim of mowing often. Started it up this morning no problem. Walked 6 metres and it "coughed" and whilst it was still on, the blades werent turning. I unplugged it and checked but the blades werent caught or anything, they still rotated freely. Plugged it back in and turned it on. It sounded like there was a problem with the power and then, yes there was smoke coming out of the mower! So disappointed. I dont know why. Is it because I adjusted the mowing height?
My beautiful green grass always has white tips like the blades are worn. What can I do – Bought for $35 2nd hand. My beautiful green sir walter buffalo grass always has white tips like the blades are worn. Can they be sharpened to get rid of that problem. Otherwise she's a little pocket rocket with a small catcher for 21 m2 of grass. perfect for me Show details
My mower has gradually broken up – I bought an Ozito Ecomow 320 four years ago and have got good use out of it up to now, albeit allowing for minor inadequacies, small catcher, wheel heights tend to change by themselves, etc. I became aware early on that the plastic frame nearest the ground was being chipped away in gradually larger and larger chunks of the plastic, due as far as I… Read more
am concerned NOT to my running the mower over stones, only occasionally over small twigs and otherwise entirely over normal-length grass. Eventually the larger and larger chunks of plastic coming away have dismantled the frame sufficiently for the front wheels to become detached which has obviously terminated the mower's use. Annoying and wasteful because the upper structure, handles, motor and catcher, etc. are fine. Even the blade although somewhat worn is not mangled or chipped at all as it would be if the mower had been run over stony ground. Whilst the plastic frame seems to be fairly tough and hard and also slightly elastic as it probably should be, I believe that it is simply too brittle to withstand the pummelling the cutting chamber receives in use, presumably more so when the occasional twig or stone is picked up and swirled around.
So, something of a disappointment even although the mower was fairly cheap to start with ($134).
10 years later still going – I bought one 10 years ago - still goes strong. Used on a medium block. In long grass you tilt it up so it doesn't stall. . looks like a childs toy but is rugged . It is very lightweight and starts with a lever switch. Perfect for someone with a bad back like me. Having a cord attached is no problem, better than pushing a heavy battery. I'd give… Read more
it 5 stars but it is just a cheapy with a "cheap" design ....and some sort of (not really ) problems (mine has height adjustment by removal of wheels into different holes - I think it is now a lever).
pleasantly surprised – I just purchased the ozito ecomow and have already been converted to electric mowers forever. I had never used one before and had only heard that they were terribly underpowered. I wasn't expecting much but after much frustration and a shoulder injury from trying to start my petrol mower, I thought it was worth the risk. The reviews mentioned… Read more
the height needing each wheel changed individually but I must have bought a newer model because it was just two levers under the mower.
Pros:
So easy to start
Cut well
Light weight
As easy as vacuuming
Cut through sticks and heavy weeds
Cheap price
Cons:
Narrow cut width
Small catcher
Needs an extension cord
Overall: very happy and will never go back to petrol
Catcher is impossible to assemble! – Good price BUT I am tech savvy but the catcher is impossible to assemble. I think the top moulding and the bottom don't properly match. Shame as Ozito is usually OK
You get what you pay for – Well, this is basically a throwaway product. The price is very cheap. That is why I bought it. It lasted for a while, until I got sick of the problems: 1. If you use are not using the lowest height, the wheels continually readjust "automatically" if you accidentally bump it. This means you would cut the grass at a certain height and then… Read more
suddenly realised that it's cutting it too short (on one wheel). Of course, if you don't mind checking and readjusting it continually, that's ok.
2. Height adjustment is wheel by wheel. It is better to get a mower where the adjustment is via a single height handle.
3. Catcher is a little small, so emptying it is regular. If you have a small yard, that's ok. If it is considered medium or large, then you may want to consider a better mower.
There are better electric mowers out there, but probably nothing as cheap as this mower.
Good for small areas – I bought a 1000W model years ago and it has performed reasonably well. Compared to a petrol mower it's great not to worry about petrol, spark plug, &c, however its lesser power means taking your time with thicker grass, and 32cm width and smaller catcher means, overall, it can take twice as long as a petrol to mow an area. The catcher may fill… Read more · 1
after a single 15m run. When grass is wet, it clogs the underside (requiring cleaning) and won't pick up at all and, besides, one can get a bit of a tingle, or worse, handling the power lead in the wet.
I bought a used, later model 1100W ECO320 for a relative's lawn but was disappointed to find that the new dimensions prevented the catcher being removed and passed through the mower handles, making it awkward compared to the previous model. The catcher also had a new new clip system which is way too fiddly when removing/installing from/to the mower. The two catcher halves had a tendency to come apart (after considerable use) so I fitted a couple of small screws to hold them together. Cutting height adjustment can't be done on the run - the mower has to be stopped and put on its side and a simple clip system adjusted underneath.
I never found this disadvantageous as I always cut the same height. Even so, the 3 increments provided are annoyingly spaced - the lowest is a bit too low and the medium a bit too high. The cutting blade is easy (for a handyperson) to remove and sharpen, the mower is light to lift but doesn't have a readily folding handle for storage, but isn't that bulky anyway. The mower consumes nearly 400W no load (part presumably used to create the blower effect, the rest is lost as motor heat) which I 'm guessing leaves about 600W (approx 0.9HP) to actually cut the grass. Also, the torque characteristics of mains mowers means they tend to just stall in tough grass rather than slow first as with a petrol mower; it doesn't like sinking into a layer of spongy couch grass and will stall almost instantaneously.
The power cord is a minor impediment (I've accidentally chopped mine once in years of mowing) but the convenience is considerable, and the noise level a lot less (I wish councils could make electric mowers, chain saws and whippers mandatory for domestic use). As with all conventional mains mowers, the 3000RPM blade speed is a bit on the slow side and fine-bladed grass tends to just get bent over instead of cut. The all plastic casing is rust and corrosion proof, but it can crack or break around the front wheel if the mower is accidentally pushed too quickly into a wall or fence. The safety switch, whilst no doubt making it safer, is tedious and uncomfortable to hold on, and one might be tempted to tape it permanently on. For the price, it is great for a small area of dryish not-too-tough grass, but otherwise a bigger version (more powerful, wider, bigger catcher) would be worth the extra money.
Garbage – Sshoulda bought a flymo. Where do I start? wheels unscrew when wheeling mower forward and backwards in my small yard. Catcher is the size of a coffee cup and comes in 2 pieces, falls apart and overflows every minute unless you mowed the lawn an hour ago. will not cut damp or healthy grass as blades are blunt. Healthy green grass clogs the… Read more
blades and the pissy motor stalls, requiring you to unplug it, upend it and scoop the green grass clippings out of the mower to un jam it.
i could go on forever. I did like how it was cheaply built, therefore light and easy to hang up in the shed, and eventuallly chuck in the hard waste collection.

damm..... Gladiator...! great value for money – I had about a feet height grass grown up in my backyard this mover cut them without a worry.Price is unbelievably cheap & great value for money. Highly Recommended!
The handles keep breaking and petrol mowers are still better – I would like to tell you about my nightmare experience with this lawn mower 3 years ago my mum and dad bought it from bunnings warehouse and it was perfect to begin with, as the years went by and so many uses later the handles keep on breaking and it can't cut properly because the grass is too long, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone (not even my enemies and nasty people) Nothing Everything
Just great – I am always hesitant to buy something very cheap, but this lawn mower turned out to be a rather pleasant surprise. It is light, easy to operate and extremely quiet and does a great job on our small size lawn (Sir Walter grass) provided the grass in not too wet. Didn’t have any issues with assembling or height adjustment. Five stars for value and… Read more
four and half for performance.
This note added after almost five years of usage: the unit continues to perform very well

Cheap – We have a small backyard, so an electric mower was the obvious choice. I tossed up between the Ozito and the Flymo, and went for the cheaper Ozito on the recommendation of some Bunnings staff. Let’s be straight here, it’s an incredibly cheap product. Some of the build quality is incredibly bad. I battled with the catcher for around 20 minutes –… Read more
you have to clip the top and bottom halves together, but it’s flimsy plastic and the shape of the bottom half is quite different to the top half.
The "blades" (I use this term loosely. More like steel rectangles) provided are extremely blunt, basically unsharpened at all. So instead of cutting the grass, it pretty much repeatedly bashes it until the grass weakens enough to break off in a jagged, messy ‘cut’. The mower is so light if you have thick grass (not necessarily long), the mower just goes over the top of it instead of pushing through it.
You'll know the grass catcher needs emptying, as when it gets a bit full if you let go of the mower to move the extension lead it will tip over backwards due to the few hundred grams of weight in it. This where the light weight of the mower is a good and bad thing - bad because the mower tips over, and it runs over the top of thick grass. Good, because after the nightmare of putting together the catcher, marvelling at the terrible build quality and then watching it tip over backwards, popping off the grass catcher which causes the top and bottom halves to separate, emptying grass cuttings all over your lawn, you'll be able to easily pick the mower up, and throw it over the fence, or into the nearest river.
I’ll be getting the angle grinder onto the blades before the next mow to sharpen them up, then we’ll see how it goes. I should have bought the Flymo. It's light. And cheap. Poor build quality. It's too light. Blunt "blades". Tips over when catcher is full.
Value for money – Prior to buying this machine I had only ever used a petrol mower before, and I certainly don't regret the change. While using a corded mower does take some getting used to, I find that minor inconvenience is outweighed by the performance of the mower itself. I live in a unit with a small sized lawn, so this mower suits my needs perfectly. It's… Read more
quiet and lightweight, and had no problem chewing through my long, overgrown grass. Unfortunately the catcher is a bit undersized and requires emptying fairly often. It also has popped off once or twice while I've been using it, although this may have been my own fault as it's a little awkward to get on properly.
The build quality is what you'd expect for the price, being mostly made of plastic and metal. Assembly is pretty straight forward, if a bit fiddly. The mower feels a little "fragile" at times, but that could be due to it being extremely light. It also has a tendency to bump down the height setting on one or more wheels if you tilt the mower (to cut along the edges of a flower bed, for example) but seems to work fine as long as you keep the mower flat on the ground.
It starts with the push of a button and has a neat safety feature where it turns off automatically when you let go of the trigger. I've been using this mower for about 2 months now, and it's started instantly every time.
Overall I'm very happy with the purchase. If you can afford a better mower, more power to you. But this little mower is ideal for those of us on a tight budget. It gets the job done, and that's good enough for me. Quiet, affordable, tackles overgrown grass like a pro Small catcher, height setting sometimes gets knocked out of place
Made a good buy with the Ozito ECO-320 – Had it for over a year and sharpened the blade at 12 months. I mow on the lowest setting and it is a breeze to use being so light and easy to use. Paid for itself in savings and time already. Ideal for a smallish yard as the catcher does need to be emptied; don't they all. The motor has more than enough power but like all mowers it hates wet… Read more
grass. Doesn't annoy the neighbors either. Good value and so easy to use plus no noisey petrol motor. Can't think of anything bad about it.
Awesome Value – Cheap, quiet, lightweight, electric powered, the thing has more than paid for itself after 2 1/2 years of cutting. Does indeed struggle with wet or overgrown grass and the small size of the mower means a lot of runs up & down even on my smallish yard not to mention the small catch that results in a lot of stopping to empty when mowing longish… Read more
grass.
Still the thing has been so reliable and so economical I've overlooked these flaws and have maintained a more regular mowing schedule to ensure the grass never gets too long. Cheap, electric power, reliable, lightweight, compact, quiet small
Great little mower – Had this mower for about 4 years now, no issues, it just keeps on going. I used to live in a unit and bought it for that reason but now have a large plot and it handles it fine. Struggles a bit during spring if the grass gets very high but just do the first cut at the highest height and go over again at required height. I just sharpen the blades… Read more
with my angle grinder once a year thats it. 1100w is powerfull enough and uses very little electricity. If it stops working I will be straight down to bunnings to get another one. Couldnt be bothered with petrol mowers between going to buy petrol, servicing and trying to start it, just push the button and go, too easy. Light - easy to push, can be picked up and carried around. Easy - no petrol, servicing, pull cord. Economical - 1100w so uses very little power Wheel height adjuster can move during use, catcher bit small, need extension cables
Good – I'm not exactly sure what TG119 is talking about in his review, but my jungle of a lawn is cut down well thanks to this mower. Admittedly, Ive only used it once, and so far, so good. Its backed by a 2year warranty also I believe, so I can afford to have some confidence that my mere $134 spent on this product at Bunnings is money well spent. I also… Read more
bought a Ozito Electric Blower/Vac, together with this mowers small catcher they work great hand in hand. -Electric. No fumes to inhale, and save u $$ on petrol, start n stop mower as u please.
-1100W motor is pretty powerful, I had overgrown grass on my villa to mow, thick til 60cm and some bits even 1m tall...and chunky 2cm thick weeds.. it took it all down well. Stalled a couple times from being jammed with grass - reasonable, (2-3 passes without catcher). Petrol mowers would choke as much. It'd easily do the job for 10-20cm grass. Grass catcher is another story tho.
-small mower-storage is easier, this is con also, as cut width is small too-32cm...as well as catcher. -Build Quality:
Overall is ok only. This is where it lost the 5th star for me. On twisting the handle to lift one side of the mower up to cut, say....when I was doing some edging around the garden beds (separating the lawn from the garden bed by a line of slightly raised bricks) I could feel the main green plastic part of the mower give, bending to the point where I could hear the blades spinning making more noise than it should, probably cutting into the plastic inside the mower. From now on I stop the mower before doing this to avoid any damage. Its also says "Not for high frequency use" being mostly made of plastic sounds about right.
Wheels need to be installed onto the mower by using split pins. Speaks for itself here. Needs oiling from time to time to maintain.
Motor feels solid, & very reliable. Blades too.
Double press 2 diff ways simultaneusly to activate mower is good safety measure.
-Grass catcher is small also, as on par with the rest of the mower
-adjusting cut height needs you to flip mower to the side and set the back wheels down.
-as with all electric mowers, running a extension is potentially dangerous if u mow over it. This should be expected & accepted upon buying... so not exactly a con.

time to use as its so light and quick. I love being able to let go off it and it turns straight off so I don't have to worry about taking care of my son and mowing at the same time. Kept overflowing the catcher because i have a big lawn, but that was just me being lazy not checking it lol. I also fumbled a little with the electric cable but thast just something to get used to.
Good value for smaller yards – Had this mower now for 2 months, mowing newly laid Sir Walter grass which ends up needing a mow twice a week. Yard is only small, around 8x3m Cost ~$134 at bunnings. Easy to assemble, and using is easy too. As for power cord issue I just make sure to start mowing in strips closest to the power point so as I work my way away the cord stays in… Read more
the area that has already been mowed.
I find the catcher overflows early sometimes as the blade system just doesn't throw the grass to the back of the catcher. The catcher can be hard to get on and off too.
Also find the wheels can bump out of their height setting to the lowest if you go over some edging which is annoying.
Some flex in the body so when you try to hold the mower a certain way to get in and around rocks it flexes making it hard to manoeuvre.
Overall, for the price I am happy. Beats the hassle of a petrol mower for our size yard, or a bit bigger. Inexpensive, cheap and should be reliable. Good safety switch. Grass doesn't get thrown to back of catcher so starts to overflow early. Bumps can knock height setting to lowest level often. Some flex in body. Catcher hard to get on and off.
Better than perfect – Purchased 8 years ago - never misses a beat, and this is the baby of their range. This mower has tackled jobs meant for much larger mowers and never missed a beat. Push the button and it starts - first time every time
Excellent – I used to own a Black and Decker electric push mower and this one seems better quality even before I started to use it. It definitely has more cutting power and is also heavier which to me indicates a better quality motor. I had the Black and Decker for around 6 years. If I can get even 5 years from this I will be thrilled. My lawn was… Read more
starting to get quite overgrown and this mower cut it with ease. It comes with a two year warranty so if there is trouble in the next two years, I will use that. For $135.00, I think this is a great buy if you don't have a huge lawn to mow. Cut the lawn well for the $135.00 I paid for it. Was pleasantly surprised with most aspect of this mower I have only used it once so I can't really be objective yet as to the quality or longevity of this unit.
Excellent – Just buy it! I bought mine on sale $99.00 (full price $135.00). If anything goes wrong Bunnings will fix it, replace it or refund money. How can you lose. I have used mine 6 times & love it. I only have a small lawn but it has already paid for itself compared with having to pay someone to do it or bother with larger fuel models. looked better & mowing time is 20 minutes tops. This IS A GREAT MOWER. Very surprised with the power & ability of this sized motor. Easy to assemble (usual glass of wine required after). Love the safety shut off. I do edges on lower blade height & rest of lawn higher - great results. Lawn has become thicker & greener - probably because it is so easy & quick to do with this mower. Mows well forwards & backwards. Very easy to manouver. Can't really think of any. We've all heard the stories of mowing over the power cord but I just throw the lead from the mower handle over my shoulder (which lets me know where it is all the time & never mow with any part of the cord in front of the mower - it's not rocket science.
Terrible – I just bought one of these mowers after my Ozito electric mower that I had had for 6 years broke. My old mower was excellent.
