Unfortunately I couldn’t reply to the last comment. Plunkett homes has been gaslighting me and dismissive of all my complaints. They made me pay $5000 to dig up rock to put in a soak well in the right hand corner of the yard. On the day the placed it in the middle of the block and did not even tell me. had to provide an exclusion zone but this is not contractually correct. They have breached their contract and won’t do anything to fix this. I’m a single mother and I feel like they are trying to pull the wool over my eyes and treat me like I don’t know what I’m talking about. They will not work with me to provide any resolution.

A special mention to Brook who managed to find us a titled block, in our price range, in our desired area of Perth within 48 hours of our initial enquiry, has been willing to stay back, take calls, and get clarification on all sorts of things for us. Everyone I have spoken to about the repairs have been amazed that such service has been provided and this has only given the company an awesome name within my circle in this time of failing building companies. Worst Final Stage and Handover experience We've already built 3 homes and this has got to be our worst experience so far in final stage and handover: 1. Defects raised during Practical Completion Inspection 1 back in Feb were still not addressed even after scheduling Final Inspection a month after and us paying the final payment because they've… Read more
put its due 2 weeks prior when they know property was not ready for handover. Bank also had to do valuation multiple times because they can't release the payment due to the state of the property. Plunkett also requested we took out home insurance early in Feb so we expected a month after that defects would already be fixed.
2. They've invoiced us and we've paid final payment when they haven't even bothered communicating or organizing Key Handover and Final Occupation Certificate and still chasing them up until now.
3. They've left our property unattended during inspection without communicating to us. I've organised an email with all the possible contacts from our inspector, leasing agent, Plunkett and Freedom so should there be any issues, the email trail is available to contact or inform everyone. Good thing our leasing agent from Platinum Property went above and beyond and attended for us and and informed us as we're out of state. We've immediately raised to Plunkett Homed but all they did was make excuses instead of apologising
4. I don't want to generalise for whole of Plunkett but our build Contact [Name Removed]was the most irresponsible and uncaring reprepsentative we've dealt with. He will only reply when we've copied customer feedback in our communications which we did once we figured it out. Both me and Freedom weren't able to get a proper response from him otherwise.
All we wanted which we've requested in the first Practical Completion Inspection were transparency and smooth transition. What was supposed to be a joyous handover is now turning into a battle and we don't know what's going on. With the interest rates right now, a month to do handover is pretty generous. On our last build, we got the keys and certificate 2 weeks after first Practical Completion Inspection.
Update 31-Mar-2025: Keys were requested for key handover on Friday 28-Mar-25 and our leasing agent proceeded with advertising the property and have open homes this week. Today, however, she found out duplicate keys were given to trades. House left unopened for them to come in and out resulting to some damaged flyscreens, dirty floors and dirty surroundings. Grass were left to die out too. Key handover meant, property access will be properly under our approval which didn't happen. They allowed access without informing us or getting approval for under warranty fixes. Photos attached
Update: 9-Apr-2025(more than a month after paying final invoice and more than 2 weeks after final receipt) . I don't know what your process is or why you're waiting for Freedom to give the information when you're all both copied countless times in the email (at least 10 follow up emails)
Our property manager mentioned landscape is still not fixed and fence still missing. The contract is full turn key so we shouldn't be doing any post hand-over as it should be ready to moved in and our tenants are moving this week!
WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED: Timeline: 24-Mar: Final payment Receipt received indicating they've received it. 26-Mar: PCI2 scheduled where no Building Site Supervisor there to address any issues/questions from inspector and our delegated representative. Property just left open. 27-Mar: We had to demand keys after being informed property was left open with no one in charged ensuring security of home so it won't be trashed by outsiders. NO communication for handover plan was communicated. 28-Mar: Our property manager picked up the keys and did the "supposed handover". No communication nor update sent to us. 29-Mar: Property advertised for lease 31-Mar: Our property manager had open homes scheduled and found out several Plunkett trades were in the house and trashed the property (photos attached). They shouldn't have keys in the first place as it's "handed over" on 28th Mar 3-Apr: Plunkett recleaned the house but yet to fix flyscreens, landscape, fence and haven't provided us response nor update on the 7 items listed.
From 31st Mar to 9Apr at least 10 follow-up emails sent requesting update with regards to schedule and open items and accountability for letting trades in without our permission and illegal key copies as they trespassed our property. Again no apologies and update received with regards to status of:
1.Landscape wasn't done properly. Where's the mailbox, clothesline 2. Grass left dead and not appealing to future tenants - Plunkett confirmed to be fixed by Plunkett 3. Fences missing - Plunkett said they're not fixing. Full turn key contract says fence included. 4. Flyscreens damaged - Plunkett confirmed to be fixed by Plunkett 5. Master key not handed over. Several copies existing with tradesmen - Assumed FIXED as Plunkett not taking accountability. 6. Where's our Occupation Certificate 7. Where's our warranty process
***Payment cleared as early as 24th March when we received receipt. We had to demand for the keys and as shown in photos, you've allowed trades even after" supposedly handing over all the keys to our property manager" and after "doing property handover". Surely they have information on those 7 pending items and can respond within the day but refusing or hiding these failed handover steps. I'm copied on Freedom emails but we're failing to receive response from Plunkett Homes.
Give us the proper update. FREEDOM DON'T HAVE THOSE INFORMATION. EITHER PROVIDE IT TO THEM OR PROVIDE IT TO US ASAP!!!!
Update 16-Apr-2025: 1,3,6 still not resolved. Freedom still chasing the builder Plunkett while we risked having tenants. After giving them another week to fix things, We've decided to raise this issue to fair trading.

Plunkett not interested Asked for the electricians to put wooden noggins so we could install heavier lights. This was not done. The woman we were dealing with was not interested even after I sent her photos. I should know as I am an electrician Lost $450 Then came to install NBN. Conduit not connected in the ground . I was told that is up to me, not there problem. Had to pay them Then why not inform us, garden finished. Must dig up garden again. I have built 4 times already and always been installed. Management, supervision not interested. Only want to sign off house. Black taps throughout house. 2 places chrome. We said why would we install chrome. Another $809 to replace taps. Mirrors not what we chose. Told we must choose the mirrors, why must we choose for your incompetence. Still waiting to be replaced. Cornice in bathroom, needs fixing, keep trying to send a painter with no gaps. Needs the ceiling people. Handed over like this. Forgot to put fibreglass bats in roof on second level. Worst experience we have had. Only moved in because our rental was up. They are not equipped to build two storey houses Management don’t care. A joke

From there our build started and of course in todays market and what is happening in the world currently there were a few delays - we kept in contact with Stef and also Sean Joyce who kept us up to date with everything (even though some conversations were fueled with frustration from our end) they always reassured us and made sure we were kept in the loop. From there Ryan Macleod, our site manager took over and I honestly cannot praise, thank and be so grateful for this wonderful human being. Ryan made our home experience one we won’t forget. He knows his stuff and gave us suggestions which we are forever grateful for. If you are lucky enough to have Ryan as your site manager you won’t be disappointed. Of course our client liaisons Larnie Clark and Liz Amourous contributed to our final home, always keeping us up to date and giving us all the information we needed. and I am still waiting for them to complete. On follow up after 12 months since construction commenced, we were told that they have added a total of 16 weeks for labour shortage and another 12 weeks for material shortage. I hope the quality of the build is better than their build time, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. We have depleted our family savings paying out on an investment property that is heading for almost 2 years late and we are at wits end as what to do. What we do know for certain is that we are never going to use Plunkett Homes again in future nor recommend them to anyone we know. If I could give zero stars, I surely would.

not trouble free with Building Supervisors coming and going and long periods of complete inactivity. The Trades I met with all described prompt payments made by Plunketts on their invoices but the slowness of the build was just totally frustrating. I built with Plunketts 5 years previous when a 2 level home took 1 year. Very happy with the quality and workmanship and would like to specifically thank Salesman Clem Longman for his advice and support through this build and Stef in admin.
