Safe and reliable with out the bulk – We brought 2 of these and also have a Safe n sound Hi-liner booster seat to fit nicely in our sedan for our 3 kids aged 5 and under and we love the new 2012 model SnS Compaq's they are safe and great for rear facing as they are approved to 15 kg rear facing and have a very high / tall height marker our nearly 4 year old who is top of height charts… Read more

for ages

has only just gone over the rearward facing height marker and still inches of the top marker to progress to a booster seat and our super long and thin 7.5 month old has plenty of room under the rearward facing line and is only just gone 8 kg so should be able to hopefully stay rearward facing in the capsule mode till 3 years+ old :)

the kids loved they had a big choice of color to choose from in the range and my husband and I loved that they ticked all our boxes, top safety ratings and testing,

long term rear facing, very compact too plenty of room for front seats to go back/recline and also narrow enough for 3 car seat restraints across the rear seat, we love the easy adjustment of the straps and no having to re-thread straps just pull lever to adjust the height.

We also thought the price was fair and competitive but we weren't concerned on price for safety but did mention if after buying that the price was a lot less then we had expected to pay :) so we all in all love our Safe-n-sound 2012 model green and purple Compaq's :)

also should mention we don't ever want a car accident but love SnS offer car seat exchange program and will replace our car seat with new ones if ever in a car accident

Excellent – This seat has been excellent for our family and for our small car. Despite being a compact design, the seat is very comfortable and appears quite spacious, at least for my daughter's current size. The fabric is soft and the straps are well positioned, and most importantly, it rates highly with regard to safety. I highly recommend this seat if you… Read more ·  1

have a small car. We have the newer caramel coloured seat. Perhaps not the most attractive colour, but I like that it doesn't get too hot if the car has been in the sun. Obviously the best feature is the compact design, we have a tiny 3 door hatch back and it fits really well. Doesn't seem too cramped at all. The seat appears to be very comfortable for my 9 month old daughter, she is now 10kg so I can't comment on how it will suit as she grows, however, we still have her rear-facing and she has plenty of room despite her feet touching the back seat now. This seat also rated highly on safety tests (4 stars rear-facing and 3 stars forward-facing). Nothing really. The only thing I can think of is the tether strap was slightly too short for our car if we wanted to be able to loosen it to get our daughter in and out of the seat more easily. We had to purchase an extension strap for $20. We could have used it without the extension strap, it just meant that we would have to lift her over the strap each time we wanted to get her in or out of the seat.

Good – Overall, I am very satisfied with this product. As we didn't take bub out too much during the early months. I didn't find the huge dip in the seat when it is in the rear facing position not much of a problem. However, I would suggest getting a proper baby capsule for newborns and would probably do this next time. This just doesn't provide much… Read more

support to babies under 3 months. After 3 months when bub got bigger, he fit into it much better. The fabric is comfortable and the sunshade is a good bonus. A good product but more suitable for older babies. Voted #1 safest car seat by Choice - this was the main reason why I bought this. very small and compact - perfect for our small car competitive price It says that it is suitable for newborns. We used this car seat to take my baby home from the hospital and we had to use padding underneath him as the seat does not fully recline even when it is in its rear facing position. We found that it sunk too low and he didn't really look too comfortable. Thank goodness it was only a short ride.

Compaq KOHL – Just bought a second car so require a second seat. Baby Bunting got a special so bought the CompaqKOHL. Installation was tricky to lock the belt strap through the yellow Forward facing belt path. Diagram from the manual was not clear in this installation part. Apart from this, everything was fairly easy to install. Really like a few new… Read more ·  1

initiatives; the adjusting headrest and belt. Previous model required removal of both belt and then slot through the hole. Now with press and left and voila, easy adjustment. The pocket for the back belt storage also come in handy.

We bought this seat because we can take it on holiday and on to the plane as it CASA approved.

Removal of both car and plane is easy. Installation for car is a bit more difficult, I found the Honda CRV was easier to install then the Holden.

Plus it come with Crash Exchange programs.

Overall good sturdy toddler car seat, definitely much more improvement from previous model.

Very happy with it – We researched and bought the Compaq as quite a few people told us we wouldn't get a rear facing seat into a Mazda 3. It just fits behind the passenger seat, although I believe that is more to do with the car itself than the seat. Both my partner and I can travel comfortably in the passenger seat though we are not really tall. Having bought it for… Read more ·  1

a second baby we were aware that newborns may need head support so we didn't feel this was an issue. (Happened with an Infasecure as well)

Bubs seems quite comfy and I have no concerns regarding his safety in this seat, he is quite securely strapped in. The only thing I would not is that the arms straps are hard to loosen as he grows - you do have to pull quite hard.

Great seat! – This car seat was easy to install. The soft covers come off easily for machine washing. Just remember where the snap buttons are! Baby is very comfortable looking. We tested the seat for comfort by putting him in a few and this one was the stand out. Happy with our purchase.

Good seat for older bubs, NOT from birth! (MKII) – This seat is great for bigger bubs with head control. I purchased this for my newborn and the product needs to advise customers that a head insert is needed for younger babies. This seat became dangerous for my bub even at 2 months old due to there not being any head support and risking my daughter airway. If a car seat is going to be recommended from birth appropriate supports need to be included.

buckle is very hard to lock "click" – Quite disapointed in this seat as my husband was sure he didnt want to buy a "cheapo" seat so we went to baby bunting and spent quite abit on this. My issue is that the buckle is very hard to click in and lock .. you really have to make sure its locked because it easily comes undone and has on multiple occasions while driving. quite surprised when she put my daughter in and it just came undone cos it didnt click. Safe to say i probably would have been better to buy one from target for under 200 would have faired better and that is what im going to do.

No side impact head protection – This seat has been great rear-facing, however we have recently turned it around to be front-facing and I am curious as to why there doesn't seem to any much side-impact head protection compared to the other Britax models? So so – Very compact which is good for my tiny car. It's easy to remove the washable parts to clean .however , none of this matters when my baby hates sitting in it. She would scream every single time we put her in. We have since changed to another car seat and she stopped screaming.

Seems comfortable but those bloody straps! – Once in, our bub seems comfortable (albeit he's only 9m now). But the STRAPS! As with many other comments, the button was clearly broken. It would take me pulling with all my weight and my foot in the seat to loosen the arm straps - not exactly practical if my son was actually in the chair! We had it fixed (free under warranty) by an authorised… Read more

repair shop (thanks Britax!) who also just removed the button. So we have to reach in and blindly find the lever with a thumb but it is still pretty stiff. I essentially reach behind the seat and pull the straps from the back...which I suspect wont be practical once he's facing forward. Very frustrating, not to mention Grandma really can't manage it at all.

Carseat – Easy to install in to my Mazda 3 sedan. Fits just find with enough room in the front seat for my 6ft partner to sit comfortably. Baby seems comfy enough too. But it seems the straps loosen when I don't want them too.. Forever tightening them (which I find difficult)

Straps don't tighten up once Bub is in the seat – When I put Bub in the baby seat, the straps don't move at all when I press the button. We have two cars so I bought a different brand of car seat for my other vehicle and no probs with that one at all. I've had friends help me out with no success. The back padding also doesn't stay up. Would definitely not recommend this one.

Ok – I have used this car seat for a while but the button you press to readjust the straps keeps popping out. Highly annoying - especially when you are in a hurry and you need to search the car floor for the spring and button! Not sure if I would recommend this seat.

Difficult to use – I've had so many problems with this seat. The padding always slips down and makes it difficult to get bubs in and the straps seem tight when it's really just that all the padding needs pulling up. It really is not compact, yes, it's narrow but it touches the front seat of my holden COMMODORE when rearward facing. Also, difficult to adjust the… Read more

straps when rearward facing and it is impossible to get bubs out of without waking him up. I had to turn him forward facing at 7 months because I couldn't get him in and out (he's long and after almost taking his eye out for the hundredth time trying to get him out under the belt, I gave up). I've bought a different brand now and much happier.

Tightening strap – I find this very difficult to tighten the straps once bubs is clipped in. It seems fine when she is not in the seat but will not budge when she is in it. Not sure if I am doing something wrong. it seems like a few people have had the same problem.

Horrible, Unsafe – Doesn't tighten when child is seated, straps remain loose. Even after you work hard to get the straps tight my son still gets his arms out and leans all the way forward. Best and MOST EXPENSIVE seat out there?? Well it was definitely the latter.. over $500 we paid so our son could be unsafe every single trip.. Dreadful.

It's ok but I wish I hadn't bought it – This is an okay seat. It fits well in a mid sized hatchback and my son initially looked pretty comfy in it. I find it very hard to adjust the straps. My toddler is very tall for his age and I doubt he'll still be in this seat to 4 years as advertised. It would be more useful to me if, rather than listing age ranges, height ranges were used… Read more

I'm sure it would be great if it could actually be installed – The seat looks like it is well priced for the features, but not being able to fit it to my Mitsubishi Outlander in rear-facing mode without having to go out and buy an extension strap is just pathetic. Meanwhile, the rest of us with non-futuristic cars might need to stick with anchor points at the base of the rear seats and have to purchase an extension strap to anchor the baby seat.

Compact but only just fits mazda 3 – This is fitted well and very comfortable for my newborn whom was only 2.5kg at birth. The harness height adjustment is a breeze. Installation was easy as the manufacturer has a YouTube site to follow. Fits into my Mazda 3 behind the passenger seat although the passenger seat is positioned in the most forward position so no tall people riding with me. Easy harness adjustment Only just fits in mazda 3

Great narrow seat – I bought the compaq specifically because of it's narrow/small build. Nice looking and narrow. Great for small cars – Easy to use, narrow and fits into our small car well. It was a lower in cost than the most luxury models and this show in the amount of padding. My daugther (2yrs) seems to like it and sleeps well in it. The buttons and buckles are a bit cheaper but still work effectively. Narrow, high wings and easy to clean Not as padded as other models, but still comfy

Awesome car seat for extended rear facing – Wow what Can i say this is the best car seat that can fit my 19 month old who is still rear facing with about 5cm left till I can forward face her and it could be 3-4 before we forward face her its known fact that rf child 4 years and under are 5x safer then forward face children, hope britax can convince the government to make it 12 months minimum for rf not 6 months Excellent

Good for small car – Purchased the compaq because I have a small car. It was easy to install and fits in tight and secure. Easy to adjust straps. Bubba enjoys his car rides and seems very comfortable. Easy to keep clean. The side bits are a little high whilst in rear facing position but bub is still ok to get in and out. Easy to install and adjust straps. Side bits a bit high.

Good – Overall am happy with this product. It can be a bit fiddly to get our baby into the seat as the straps twist around, but I'm pretty sure this is the case with all car seats. have had to be all the way forward. As it is my husband (who is 6 foot) has trouble fitting in. Compact although it still takes up quite a lot of room in our Astra and the seat in front can't go all the way back. Rated very highly for safety by RACV. Like most car seats, the straps get a bit twisted. There is not much head support for a little baby, so we bought an extra head support from Baby Bunting.

Great seat for small cars and big babies – I absolutely love this carseat. It fits perfectly in my small suzuki swift, but at the same time fits my daughter who is well above average in both height and weight.
