Straps keep getting tangled – Capsule is heavy, the straps keep getting tangled and the car seat isn't very secure even when fitted correctly. It moves across the back seat. Horrible car seat, don't bother getting a capsule just get a convertible car seat to start with, don't waste your money. Not worth the trouble

Serves a purpose, but difficult to use – I bought this capsule for my third bub because of the need to get her in and out of the car during school and day care drop offs. It served its purpose for the first 12 weeks and allowed me to get her in and out of the car without waking her. It was amazing during my older daughters' swimming lessons as bub would fall asleep during the pick ups… Read more

and I could transfer her to pram without waking her, and she would sleep all through the swimming lesson and then all the way home.

But... she did get incredibly hot in the capsule. To the point where it would wake her up. It's the middle of winter here and she still gets very hot in there despite how lightly she is dressed.

The biggest challenge with the capsule is getting it in and out of the car. I drive a minivan, so space isn't really an issue. But the configuration is. My eldest needs to be on the passenger side so she can safely get in and out of the car by herself at school. The capsule has to go in the middle because it won't fit behind the driver seat without leaving the driver squashed up behind the wheel. Getting the capsule into the car is ok. But getting it out is so hard, especially when there's a 5kg baby inside. There's so many steps to getting it out, the most difficult one is pulling the release handle with one hand while Iifting the capsule up with the other. The weight of the capsule really requires two hands to lift it up and out. Luckily, I can actually get into my car and hook the capsule handle around my arm and lift it out that way.

Also, bub now cries wherever I put her in the capsule. I think it's a combination of being hot and being squashed. And now that she's older and not sleeping as much, the benefit of not waking her is lost as she wakes up as soon as I do my weird manoeuvre to get the capsule out of the car.

Overall, I see the benefit of the capsule. It just doesn't last that long. It's totally worth the money, if you get it on sale.

Not great for smaller cars or larger babies – This capsule was OK for a little while, my baby is now 3 months old and 5kg and hates being in it. She cries as soon as she is placed in it because of how squashed she is. Also I have a small car (Mitsubishi Mirage) and the front seat is so far forward it is uncomfortable to have to sit in it. I'm getting rid of it to get a convertible car seat… Read more

from Infasecure.

Also the capsule is very heavy with baby in it, so the convenience of being able to take the baby out of the car in it doesn't outweigh the annoyance of how heavy it is.

Perfect for newborn to toddler – The capsule is a must accessory for this pram making life with a newborn transition from car to home a breeze. You don't have to wake sleeping baby! The adjustable handle is convenient for my taller partner. The basket storage is ample. Had no trouble fitting the stroller in the boot . My favourite thing hands down is the prams manoeuvrability

A Godsend in the first few months – This capsule gave me the freedom to get out & about with both my babies without having to wake them up each time I needed to get out of the car. Particularly with my second baby, it made preschool drop offs with my toddler so much easier. My only regret is that both my children grew so quickly that they got too big for it by 4-5 mths. Bub can get… Read more

quite hot in the capsule so you just need to keep an eye on them. It can also be quite heavy with bub in it & therefore more difficult to get out of the car & carry for any distance so just be aware of this. I certainly built muscles in my arms! Despite these couple of things I absolutely 100% recommend this capsule for the freedom & flexibility it gave me. I cursed the day we had to switch to a regular car seat!

Don't waste your money – Firstly this capsule struggled to fit in our car (we have a Mazda 3). The front seat was pushed forward so much it couldn't be used. Secondly our baby is 12 weeks today and she is too big for it. Her feet dangle off end and she is squashed. She is 65cm long and isn't a chubby baby. I've had to buy a new car seat already. Save your money and… Read more

Extremely handy product – We weren't sure whether to buy this or not as they are quite expensive! Somehow decided to buy it and it was probably one of our better choices! It has been extremely handy for the first 6 months, just being able to put bub in and out of the car or pram if asleep. He doesn't particularly like sleeping in it, but will if tired enough. I will miss the capsule when he's too long for it!

Perfect for a busy mum!! – Easy to use and install as long as you read instructions! Great for any size car and fits most steelcraft prams! Bubs loves it and sleeps really well! Paid $200 on special at target and compared to other carriers this is really inexpensive and value for money! Really couldn't fault this carrier it's perfect! not to expensive, size, convenient, fit most steelcraft prams a little heavy

Very convenient – After being told by many people how this purchase would be a waste of money, I can now disagree. It has saved waking my baby on many occasions when we have gone out. Times when my baby would fall asleep on the trip, I would transfer her from the car in the capsule without waking her. I will be keeping the capsule to use again with my next child. Everything It doesn't come in any other colour. It doesn't come with a storm cover.

Good value for money, a real time saver! – The cruiser capsule is a great product with a reasonable price, it is compatible with both the cruiser stroller and the strider plus system. It is easy to install and easy to swap between cars without too much of a fuss, also perfect for babies first few months as you don't have to wake baby to do shopping etc. the only issue I have with… Read more

this is if you put baby in the middle, when you tighten the seatbelt (of the car) the clip sometimes inter-fears with the clip mechanism of the seat, but this is easily remidied by having baby on the side or loosening the belt slightly. Also it's hard to get parts for this item.

Other than that, I am soooo glad I bought this, and it's best to buy it with a stroller because it gets quite heavy to carry around. reliable, value for money, comfort, safety Heavy, hard to get parts for

Awesome Capsule – I brought this capsule when i found out i was pregnant with my second child. Greatest invention ever. So easy to get in and out of the car, not to big or small. Not to heavy so is easy to carry around without putting it on the pram. Although should have it available in more then 1 colour Small, compact, lightweight No colours to choose from

Baby overheats very easily - Beware – The fabric inside the infant capsule does not breathe, even when baby is dressed lightly, baby constantly overheats, sweats and wakes up screaming. This happens both when using in the car and also inside the pram. Very concerning and disappointing as I have only used for 2 weeks in the springtime. Definitely would not recommend.

Not as easy as it should be – The strap that goes from the top of the carrier and attaches behind the seat is poorly designed for ease of use. If you detach it to remove the capsule at the clip end of the strap there is no safe place to put it out of the way, it is a nuisance and could possibly cause discomfort or injury to a baby. If you remove the strap at the carrier… Read more

end, it is fiddly to do so.

This makes it cumbersome to remove, and to place into a car.

In lay-person terms this strap setup is Dumb.

Designer should reevaluate strap design!

Best thing ever invented – I bought this for my 5th child, after using the old style capsules for the previous 4, and I love it. It is the best thing I have ever purchased. Great longevity for average size and small baby and commuters – I love my capsule! was a great buy! i use it every time in the car alongside my cruiser pram, good price, never had an issue with it! fitted to the small or big car with ease, i was able to swap it to different cars easily.. my bub is 7months old and still uses that capsule with ease.. simple to use... i think anything can be simple to use… Read more

with time, practice and research... be realistic about it,, if you need to read instructions then do it, but this was self explanatory to me with indication instructional stickers on the capsule of how to set it up and get it in and out etc.

Be wary not suitable for baby – I bought this product new for 3rd child for ease of getting in and out of the car to pram and carrying. However there is an uncomfortable ridge under babies back where foam stops. Plus my poor babies heels have chafed and bled on the Velcro fastening covering is at base where you pull lever to loosen straps. Baby kicks and rubs all their skin off.… Read more

It's a tight fit and difficult to do up straps. I have found the strap between legs too short so the other two straps are tight across legs. Really dissapointed in this product.

Uncomfortable bad design. No thought for baby use

Easy and Convienient – This infant carrier is easy to use and very convienient. It makes moving baby to and from the car easy especially in the early days when they quite often sleep anywhere. small and tight. He didnt seem at all comfortable and would scream when being put into the carrier. He is much better now in the next seat. This isnt really a problem as he would have to be moved into a new seat eventually, the only difference is he is still rearward facing instead of going straight from the capsule to forward facing. It is quite heavy as baby gets bigger. Baby can get quite hot in the carrier. Easy to use, convienient, well padded, excellent travel system when combined with pram doubt it would last til baby is 9kg however not really a problem just have to move baby into car seat earlier, baby can get quite hot

A cute design , excited to use – Ive just bought this capsule for my 3rd. We always hired in previous, so when we went to the baby store to look at investing in one, i had my list of what i wanted. This ticked it all. Its quite light, and looks well designed. The base is even rounded so could be used like a rocker when out and about. I cant wait to set this up for our baby!

Fantastic capsule – This capsule was a very reasonable price. It's very easy to put in and take out and it means baby can stay asleep when you're taking her in and out. In the very early days we are also able to rock her to sleep in it. It does get very hot and snug in there some times. Great price. Seems to be very safe and stable. It does get very heavy and hard to carry. I regret not getting the stroller that it fits into.

Lightweight and so handy! – I purchase this capsule to use for babysitting as I was doing lots of quick in-nd-out trips and having to wake the baby every time! It is so light weight, nice and slim to fit in my narrow car, and very comfy and secure for baby. 4 star crep rating is an added bonus! Lightweight, 4 star crep rating, comfortable for baby, convenient. Sunhood to small but not overly important.

I am so glad we had this – Our daughter is 8 months old and only just about to reach the height and weight limits for this seat. She can still sit in it comfortably and does not look squashed or uncomfortable at all. Now that she is older we use the main seat that came with the pram as she does tend to get hot in the capsule.

For a quick run into the supermarket to get 2 or 3 things I have still used the capsule on the pram frame recently.

The capsule was also handy on the handful of occasions that we went out to eat, as if she was asleep we didn't have to wake her, we simply took the capsule from the car and carried her in with a blanket over her until she woke up.

It was great to be able to put her in the seat inside and carry the whole thing to the car too. We are about to buy her a new carseat which will be permanently fixed to the car, and I will really miss this seat.

It was easy to use, good instructions, easy to clean, all fabric parts just went in the washing machine. The straps could get twisted sometimes. It has the padded covers so the straps didnt dig in to the baby. She always seemed comfortable in the seat, apart from on hot days she could get a bit sweaty but once we noticed this we always dressed her lighly and kept the car at a comfortable temperature.

I would buy this or another travel system again. It has been awesome. Easy to use, easy to clip into pram frame, and car, easy to clean, baby always seemed comfortable Sometimes the straps twist. Be aware on a hot day the baby can get sweaty in this seat, so dress them accordingly and keep the temperature in the car comfortable. Also keep that in mind if you attach the capsule to the pram frame on a hot day.

Really, really handy! – We bought this carrier along with the pram as we had a 3 dr vehicle and knew we weren't going to be able to upgrade before bub made her arrival so it helped to be able to put her in and out of the car with relative ease. The carrier is fairly lightweight and is quite easy to handle. I had a c-section and was able to carry the baby in it within… Read more ·  2

a couple of weeks. Obviously getting it in and out of the a 3 dr hatch is harder than with a normal car but it fit between the front seat and the door frame fairly well. She seemed to find it very comfortable even from very small (the padded straps and infant head support helped a lot). The straps are easy to adjust and there are instructions on the seat for taking the head support out and adjusting the straps when necessary and they are really easy to follow.

The hood on it is good, although it could come down a bit lower to protect bub from the sun. The straps can get twisted easily and initially working out how the straps buckled in was a bit hard (that was probably inexperience on our part!!).

It's easy to install in the car (although we did have it professionally fitted), but the base seemed to slide from side to side even when tightly buckled in and the securing strap fitted, and when the securing strap was tightened it seemed to lift the base off the seat. That again could just be due to the type of vehicle we have but I found myself jamming the front passenger seat against it to restrict movement more. It would be good if you didn't have to take the securing strap on and off to put it in and out of the vehicle, but once you get used to it, it takes only a couple of minutes for the whole operation. Perfect for our tiny car, great to be able to go from car, to pram and back again without disturbing the baby. Lightweight to carry and comfortable for the baby. Great when used with the pram it is built for. Would be better if securing strap was fixed to the base leaving you to just clip the seat in and out, but a mere trifle compared to the convenience. Maybe a tad too slim, as it says you can use it up to 9kg but my 6.5kg bub is getting a bit wide for it now. Can get a bit hot, but I found dressing baby light and lining it with a muslin helped.

Cant live with out it for newborn – Easy to get baby in and out of the car when you have to. You can just snap the capsule into the pram or carry it and away you go.- it is so great because bubs does not wake up when Im poping into preschool drop offs or into the shop. The pram that goes with it is awesome value for price the pram is only for one, this option in a double would be perfect

Great for what it is intended for – I found it fantastic when my son was born and transporting him from the house to the car and vice versa without having to wake him up. by Steelcraft and I found out that it even connects onto the Strider pram - which is a double bonus I guess. It was easy to use when my son was an infant and we could just pop him in and take him anywhere and if he happened to fall asleep then he would be fine. It was great for school pick ups and drop offs too as I would have to get him out of the car and at least if he was dozing or sleeping, I didn't have to wake him up at all. That was a blessing into getting him into a routine. I loved it when my son was little and could still fit in it. It snapped into the pram with no fuss. It was awkward to use when I had a 2 door car. My son didn't fit in it after 4 months because he became too wide and couldn't move his arms and screamed to be taken out. So, it was only really practical for the first 3 months. Plus it was super heavy once you have a baby in it. So, it your baby isn't fat - or wide in the shoulders - this is a perfect product. But if your baby is like mine and is gaining weight at 350grams a week, this is probably not going to last you very long. The sun shade thing is too short and doesn't cover much of the bub when they're in there. So, I was constantly having to have a muslin wrap over it. But I saw the same of other capsules too. I think it's just a capsule thing.

Excellent – I love the fact that "Steelcraft" and "Hipod" are actually apart of the "Britax" company which make "Safe n Sound" but sell their "Steelcraft" and "Hipod" brand exclusively to Target, which is fantastic if you can get them at the baby sales (usually in January and June). I use it as a cars eat, baby carrier, clips onto "Steelcraft Cruiser stroller" sits on grocery trolleys, can be used as a baby rocker and infant feeding seat. It is fairly simple to snap in and out of the car, however some cars you may need an extension strap so that the strap is easier to get on and off the capsule. rated to the industry standard of 9kgs. Is not overly wide, can still fit two passengers in the back of the car with the carrier installed.

The sun hood is retractable but I find that it does not extend out far enough when the carrier is in the stroller and the sun still gets in my baby's eyes sometimes.

Available from Target and is well priced, especially when it is on sale (which is quite regularly).

I feel confident in knowing my baby will be safe whilst using this product. Goes straight from car to stroller. Can easily get a sleeping bubs in and out of the car, without having to pick him/her up out of the seat. Comes with a matching head protector for newborns and strap covers to protect baby's neck from the webbing. Easy to adjust straps and tension control. Seatbelt straps can be a bit fiddly. Can be a bit time consuming getting the carrier in and out of the car, but probably is the same for other carriers of similar design. Can get a bit heavy as bubs puts on weight. The sun hood does not extend out far enough when used in the pram.

Easy to get bubs out of the car with out disurbing him – The carrier is easy to use and I feel that my son is safe in it. you just snap the capsule into the pram - it is so good not to have to wake her when you just need to pop to the shops and grab a couple of things! I also like how easy it is to lengthen the straps so you can get the baby out of the carrier a lot easier. The sun shade doesn't go far enough down - I find I have to always keep a muslin wrap handy so I can throw it over the top. Perhaps they could find a better way to secure the seat belt around it?
