Stihl MS 460 Magnum

High Speed Miss – Great saw, lot lighter than my old 56 s, had it about two years. 50 cords just developed a high speed miss haven't figured it out yet probably spark plug issues if not, I guess a trip to the shop will be required. Don't want to say too much till I find out what the problem really is.

Meh! – Have owned Stihl saws all my life and, unfortunately found the 460 I purchased a real dog. Very tempermental compared to my others and has had more visits to the doctor in the last 2 years than the 034 I had before had in 15. When it's working it is fantastic, having to coax it through when it's not is a pain Power when running well, balance. Tempermental

This saw rocks – I purchased this saw just shy of 12 months ago. I'm not a professional. Just head out to collect my own firewood for domestic use. I have a ms250 which goes well. And I've tried the Chinese knock off's (Baumr) from eBay which go ok if you look after them and don't expect to cut 3 tonne in a day. Wanted something with a bit more grunt The 460… Read more

Not too heavy and with that much power at hand it actually reduces time spent cutting

This saw is an absolute dream to use

original air cleaner, the only thing that has been replaced is spark plugs and handle bar due to rough use excellent power to weight ratio easy to use light weight power full nothing with this saw , but new model has those awfull new filler caps that the oil seal swells and leaks

Excellent small / medium saw – I have the MS880 (41") and MS 660 (24") for big stuff, the 460 for smaller branches. You can use it all day as its light. If you only get one saw this is it. Important: I'm 6'3" and run a 24" on it so I don't have to bend ... If your shorter get a 22" or a 20" This way you figure out exactly where the saw tip is in relation to the ground ...… Read more

So you don't bend over ..which saves your back when cutting small branches and you don't damage your chain. ( Hope this makes sense) Light powerful
