I wish I could give less than one star – Electrolux are horrible. They must make more profit from repairs than sales This fridge is horrible The outside freezer stainless steel drawer, so the entire freezer, only slides open an inch So I cannot access any contents in my entire freezer How is this acceptable?! I should have access to my expensive frozen contents without having to pay… Read more
Electrolux to open my freezer It is ransom (And I had this fridge since new for about 2 years only) Their manual mentions removing food from near a sensor but does not say where the sensor is! This is a $2400 fridge I should have the option of accessing my contents without paying them $200 I ought be able to open a freezer! They are holding my expensive food hostage Design of slide freezer is crap Get ready for slider to lock you out of your freezer Do not buy Westinghouse or Electrolux Shocking conflicting ill informed staff who do not care and do not follow up Electrolux have not resolved anything Vivian said that because I had someone furnish my home with all new appliances I am not covered because I am not considered the first purchaser! I said so if I buy a fridge for my daughter she voids the warranty?! Electrolux are like public servants they just ask ridiculous questions endlessly to find an excuse to charge you. I was willing as a compromise to have them open my freezer anytime they are in my area and not even repair anything But they are interested in unconscionably charged money not good will nor resolution Apparently it's cheaper for electrolux to handle through fair trade than just open the freezer. Do not buy Electrolux people Others fix and value their good name and customer satisfaction. Electrolux Westinghouse do not
Its perfect 8 years and still going – Everything working fine for 8 years, and more years to come, just need to change fridge seal gasket for the freezer because my 16 months old baby keep open and close it door, curious baby excited. Show details
Fridge part of the unit broke itself – The fridge part of the unit has broke itself while i was at work had to throw out everything. Like the freezer is this working.. waiting to found out how much its going to cost me in repairs.. Show details

5 Years Old - Still Working Well – Purchased second hand, 3 years ago (part of my house). It has been faultless. Having the fridge above the freezer makes it easy to get to the most commonly used areas. I like the small french doors but this configuration can't self close. Show details
Nice looking – If we had a chance to choose again we would look at another fridge. Bending over to get at the freezer is difficult. Also we are having trouble with condensation leaking on the floor. Show details
Great Fridge, has never let us down, but freezer draw needs occasional adjustment – Australian Made marvel. What a shame we don't make the here anymore. Love our fridge, not looking forward to ever having to replace it, looks the goods and has stood the time test of children in and out of it continually. The only issue I have found with this fridge is the freezer draw falls a little over time but is easy to adjust to ensure the seals seat properly. No big deal Show details

Terrible Fridge. Doors don’t self close and freezer drawer won’t seal – This fridge had issues from day 1. The freezer draw would not seal. Technician attended 4 times. Each time the problem was not fixed. Seal heated with hair dryer, extra screws added to draw front, new slides ordered and installed, and entered drawer front replaced. Issue was the body of the fridge where the drawer seal closed against was bowed in… Read more
8mm so none of these fixes were ever going to work. Finally told Electrolux to replace it or come and take it away. Finally it was replaced. Drawer closes and seals but doors remain open without being pushed hard closed and water drips from the 2 doors all over my hardwood floors. Regret this purchase should have stayed with Fysher Paykel.
Worked well until a larg bang was heard – We have had this fridge for 2.5 years. Has been working well until a large buzzing noise then a huge bang was heard coming from the kitchen. My young boy was in the kitchen at the time, eating dinner and he came running out exclaiming ' the fridge scared me'. Luckily we purchased extended warranty, however, electrolux service has been extremely… Read more
slow and disappointing. Even under circumstances of how it stopped working. We already had a technician out just after purchasing it as the doors were not matching up correctly. We are still waiting for it to be looked at.
Avoid This Fridge! – Worst fridge I have ever owned. It is never cold enough inside fridge and door have to be pushed shut every time!! Avoid this fride at all costs!! - doors dont close - cant get the fridge cold enough - food is wasted on a weekly basis - freezer ok but very pokky Show details

Westinghouse Fridge WHE5100SAD – If someone would tell you NOT to place a bottle up the Top Front Right Hand Side as this will set off Sensors, this would be very helpful, as All weekend My Fridge has been beeping, The Controller has Not stopped, Buzzing And Adjusting itself all Night & Day, I moved the Bottle away from the Top Right, & PEACE AT LAST NOW It's Behaving itself.!!!… Read more · 1
I will have to Cancle the Technician Tomorrrow. It is a small compact fridge, & gets the job done, Easy to Clean & Easy to wipe Inside, the Freezer section is quite Big, with the Ice Cube Maker & Ice Cube Tub on hand in Summer this is a Welcomed Treat For a Hot Day Cool Ice Cubes. What a Funny Quirky Lovely Fridge.
I'm going broke paying for this fridge! – My electricity bills have tripled since buying this fridge. I had the local electricity supplier come out to check my meter and after testing the meter, the lovely man checked my house as a courtesy and said the problem was my brand new fridge!! My quarterly electricity bills are now between $600-$800. I believe this is largely due to the… Read more
terrible seals on both the fridge and freezer sections. Not sure that this fully explains the jump in power usage, maybe it has an electricial fault as well. I'm very disillusioned as I bought a Westinghouse believing them to be the best. I will hesitate before buying this brand again.

Freezer door seal NOT sealing – Every 4 hours for the past 2 nights my fridge keeps beeping. Have now realised its in relation to the freezer door not being sealed. I have only managed to have a proper look at it now (after emptying the contents of the freezer and removing all the freezer drawers at 2am might i add) that there is nothing obstructing the door from closing… Read more

Fridge works well. Stainless steel finish is in good condition but very unhappy with freezer drawer. Would be reluctant to purchase this style of fridge again because of the freezer issues. Runs ok but now just died – This fridge had been an average purchased. Good ( appearance , shelving, cooling ), bad ( door functionality , bottom freezer coming off runners). Now only 3 years in it has lost power, totally dead. Disappointed as paid $2000 for it and my previous Sumsung is still running 10 years on. Also have to pay for technician call out when there is no guarantee it can be fixed :( Show details

Rusty doors on stainless steel fridge?? – I've had this fridge for about 4 years. The first 2 years were fine but then it started getting rust spots on the surface of the freezer and fridge doors. The fridge is supposed to be stainless steel and shouldn't develop rust. It's becoming a real eyesore. Given I paid a premium to have stainless steel I would have expected it to last longer. why cant they fix it – Have had my fridge for almost 4 years - Paid $2000 and I had no complaints for the first 3 1/2 years. Since Easter 2016 I have had the same problem and no-one seems to know how to fix it. Every couple of weeks the fan stops working, alarm goes off. Fridge compartment is warm and I have to dispose of cheese, meats, etc. while freezer over… Read more
freezes (you need a pick axe to get into the ice-cream). Am sick and tired of paying for a service man to come and look. Last time he came the fan kicked in when he pulled the fridge out. I have been told that they have had some issues with the electrical cord spiking the electronic panel, and the latest is that I am not shutting the freezer properly. (Had no issues before Easter - but now I am not capable of shutting freezer door!!!!! and if so why doesn't the alarm go off). A few weeks ago alarm went off 16 hours after the freezer had been used. I want to know how much longer I am expected to put up with a fridge that clearly has an issue that is not the owner.

Worst Purchase of my life – Fridge door doesn't seal properly. First 2 years was ok now cool air leaking from bottom of left door. even putting on fridge to 0 degree it doesn't cool as all air leaks out. please don't buy this crap. Can't wait to replace it – This fridge has been such a massive amount of trouble I honestly can't wait to replace it. Like almost everyone else on here we have major issues with the "self closing doors", the freezer almost never sealing correctly and the internal light on the fridge basically needing to be replaced at least once a month. I thought that automatic fridge… Read more
light switches when the doors closed were invented ..... well around the same time fridges were invented. We can always see a very small amount of light in a dark room leaking from the centre of the French door join seemingly indicating the fridge light never goes off. No wonder it blows out and needs replacing so often.
Combine this with the horrendous freezer door sealing and I literally will almost give this fridge away when we move to our new place in a month. It pains me to think about parting ways with a $2400 fridge after 2yrs but it really is just that bad.

Freezer seal issues – Loved this fridge for the first couple years, but now the freezer isn't sealing properly. Despite cleaning the gasket and pulling out the freezer drawers to remove the large chunks of ice, the seal is not flush. Judging by other comments, replacing the gasket is not going to be enough.
Buy another fridge!! – $2000 for a fridge that I have had for 18 months. I had its electronics replaced due to not cooling. Now it's making a clicking sound. Still under warranty and yet again, another technician to be sent out. Although it looks good, don't be fooled! My freezer like everyone else doesn't close leaves a gap to frost – Was working good for 2 years but seal on the freezer is not sealing anymore. Fridge doors require the extra push - always walk away going ahh damn doors. Everything else is fine.

Fridge beeping. Do not buy this fridge if you want a peace of mind – I had to buy this fridge because my previous house had a narrow entry to kitchen. With this fridge with the door open I could still walk in to my kitchen. However the French doors on the fridge never shut properly. I make a cup of tea pour some milk from the fridge and sit down in front of the TV, next thing I hear is this stupid fridge beeping… Read more
because the door is open. The door design is no good when you close one it pops open the other side due to air pressure. It is a poor design there is no way to release the air pressure when one door close. If you want a peace of mind do not by this fridge.

Never again – This appliance is very frustrating. Firstly the doors have never swung shut even after adjustment they always have to be manually pushed shut then as soon as you walk away the alarm starts beeping, now everything in the fridge is being frozen although I have checked and reset the temperature constantly.

Great for a short time – We were very happy initially with our French door fridge affectionately called the Disco fridge due to the funky blue interior lighting. The glitz has certainly worn off with the fridge never feeling cold and doors never sealing correctly. The crisper drawers have a .5cm to 1cm gap causing fruit and vegetable to spoil and the fridge not close… Read more

Was working well, but now having problems – I've been happy with this fridge since I bought it in September 2014. But in the last few days the freezer door is no longer sealing with a 1cm or so gap at the top right corner, and the gasket on the right hand side has come loose from the door. I've checked for obstructions, etc, but can't spot the problem. So I googled around and found I'm… Read more
not the only one. Bummer.
Electrolux is obviously monitoring this site, but their responses are canned blurbs from their "call centre". Am I wasting my time dealing with the local service people (there are some horror stories here) or should I go straight to consumer affairs?
Thanks for your thoughts.

DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE – Freezer seal is coming away and not flush against the fridge. Freezer constantly freezes up with large ice shards. Freezer drawers don't open properly. The steel sliding part for the drawer just fell off. Waste of money. Technician has already been out and told me nothing was wrong!!!! Taking this to Consumer Affairs or any consumer service that will take this matter further for me.

Do not buy this fridge! – No temperature control.. Freezer doesn't close easily so I am constantly throwing food out..the top drawer has been an issue.. This fridge looks huge but there is an unbelievable amount of totally wasted space..it's Christmas Eve and this fridge had just carked it.. Happy customer? Definitely not! I would never waste money on this brand again I thought Westinghouse was good I was very wrong

Perpetual problem – The fridge is fairly new and I have problem with the door from day1. The doors do not close flush with a normal shut and the company says it is normal with this design!! Other brands have a nice flat seal for the doors to go and butt against, very neat. There is a frequent whistle from my fridge to prompt me to go and shut the door. Lately there is a lot of frost in the freezer which again the company says is common in hot weather!!

Freezer not sealing – It seems my issue of the freezer not sealing at the top is a common complaint. Had a technician out and yes did the hair dryer trick. Does the freezer draw have a maximum weights? Would this be an issue, we have tried to minimize the weight. But no change..
Doors never close. Alarm sounds sometimes but whole fridge drips water all over my new floor – Doors don't close without extra push. Alarm has stopped sounding. So interior starts dripping water all over the floor. Big decision to buy this fridge and I'm so disappointed. I bought from appliances online. Freezer door wasn't alinged at delivery and need a technician to come to fix. More problems than it's worth and now I'm stuck with it

Not Happy – Raced out and bought this fridge this morning because our fridge had died overnight. Do Not Buy This Fridge Or Any Other Westinghouse For That Matter – Have had my fridge for 9 months and the ice maker no longer works. The technician doesn't even need to come out, he asks a few questions and says ice maker needs replacing. I can't say I'm happy – From the beginning the freezer seals have not worked properly, it started of with a small gap which has now gotten wider and wider.. Not happy with this and it has certainly made me not to want another french door fridge / freezer again. All I can say is never again.

Nice looking fridge/freezer – Have this Fridge/Freezer just over 2 weeks. Happy with it's performance so far. Very quiet and plenty of space in Fridge section.
