Still working – I have had my dryer since May 2012 and it still works well I did have door repaired about 2.5 years ago but that's after many moves as well. It was cheap to buy and does dry my clothes well. Well worth it to buy a clothes dryer. Although this one is discontinued now.  Show details

Poor whitegood ive ever purchased!! – This is the WORST dryer there is. It's true. The alarm will certainly haunt your dreams. It will continue to beep throughout the night, until you damn well get up, and switch off. I've tried to disable it, but to no avail. The drying quality is up creek as well. Stay clear if you value your sanity. This was the worst $350 I've ever spent. A BIG thumbs down!

Beeps 20 minutes in and stops and beeps again – Worst dryer ever. I'm frustrated by how I turn it on and go to bed and 10 minutes on it beeps end and continuously stops then drys then beeps again continuous. Don't buy it worst product ever!! Waste of money prefer my old dryer that was loud and squeaked .

Noisy – It still works... From day one a loud rattle came from bottom which would not disappear. ( it is inverted on the wall) Decided to see if it disappeared which did after 3 months. Very deep which protrudes way further than washing machine under it, so often hit your head. Annoying beep.

Very basic dryer – Doesn't dry as well as previous dryers we have owned. Persistent anoying beep when clycle finishes. When it was a couple of years old it started random flashing and beeping, even when turned off. We leave turned off at the wall unless we are using it. It still runs but we are over it. Reseaching a replacement now.

Make the beeping stop!!! – The genius who designed this dryer decided that it would be a good idea to make it beep at the end of each cycle, then keep drying, beeping, drying, beeping... You can't set it to dry clothes overnight or the beeping will haunt your dreams until you get up and turn it off! It's so needy! Poorly designed and unintuitive product.

Not the best dryer – Purchased this dryer due to physical immobility and the ease of the front lint filter, but found that the lint goes everywhere regardless of the filter. I've had for 4 yrs, and now the door has fallen off. I've discovered the door hinges are plastic, which over time in heat and moisture become brittle and break. Design wasn't thought of very… Read more

well.

I Need to replace the entire door. But think I'll just buy a better quality product, with metal door hinges.

I purchased from Clive Peeters, a week before they went into administration.

Disappointing Easy to use, front lint filter Lint goes everywhere regardless of filter. Door hinges brittle, and plastic, break easily

Flimsy Product. Couldn't Care a less attitude from "Customer Care" Dept – The item purchased is a Whirlpool 6kg vented Dryer AWD60A. The lint cover which is crucial to its operation has continually fallen off (within 7 months of purchase) due to faulty design. The effect of this is lint being blown through our entire house. This has contributed to an asthma complaint from a family member. Also additional cleaning costs.… Read more

This product is under a 2 year warranty. However Whirlpool are claiming that it's an accessory which it isn't - its a fitting. Warranty Claim denied. Not Much.... Flimsy

Worst dryer ive ever had – The first thing ive found is that excessive amounts of fluff etc come out of the door vents, straight thru the filter.. and now 12 months later the door closure has broken, any wonder when its plastic and the door keeps opening ... but nothing that duct tape didnt fix (RME) Broke easily, too much fluff escapes the filter

Absolute garbage – Mine has just decided to become misbehave after about 23 months and a total usage of about 15 cycles in that period. Now blowing cold air, even with clean filter. Door has always been hard to open due to the plastic insert moving constantly. No more Whirfool, oops I mean Whirlpool appliances in this household again. Not even going to bother… Read more

Beeping Power Sucker – Takes longer to dry than my 25year old dryer used to.....BEEPS when its FINISHED!!! WASTES MORE POWER after the cycle is over, you have to TURN IT OFF or it keeps rolling and BEEPING and using the power, yes the lint falls out of the filter when you remove it..AWFUL PRODUCT nearly as bad as my HP PRINTER!!!

Piece of rubbish and pathetic customer service – Have had under 2 years and have had to replace bearings and main board. Takes around 3 weeks each time to have repaired. And i had to take 5 half days of work, plus follow up phone calls etc. Call centre appears to be in Philippines, extremely unhelpful. When I voiced concerns that this product is so crap it hasn't even lasted the warranty period,… Read more

that I would expect warranty period to be extended, I was told to purchase an extended warranty! Clearly they didn't think I'd been out of pocket enough yet! My previous drier was a Hoover, I had it 10 years and didnt miss a beat until it finally died. This is pathetic that this product does not even last through the warranty period before having 2 major parts pack it in. Do not waste your money on this piece of junk.

Solution to fluff all over laundry problem – I've found a solution to the fluff problem that is easy to do . First locate the rubber seal inside the door. Over time the seal must push into its housing ,so pull it out gently just enough to have a plump seal edge but not falling out . The door should be hard to close as the rubber makes its seal. I've found this stopped the fluff all over… Read more

the laundry problem with this model.

It's a cheap dryer ,very very basic and the whirlpool service man whom I've had contact with was rude and fixed my dryer incorrectly.

I would advise buying a better model if you can possibly afford it from a different brand. Cheap Fluff all over laundry, element broke within months , noisy, strange rubber odor .

Worst ever!!!!! Don't buy!!!! Fire risk – We purchased this dryer 3 yrs ago after our 15 yr old dryer no longer heated. Now after 3 yrs the drum has cracked at the door in 2 places and the rubber things to stop the drum touching the metal surround have fallen out. Metal on metal causes friction and there is dry lint in places that you can't clean so therefore I deem this a fire risk!!!!… Read more

I contacted customer service ( Philippines I'm guessing) as soon as I said its 3 yrs old they referred me to my local repairer, didn't want to know anymore about it!!!!!! I am a stay at home mum of 2 kids- I can't afford a repairman or a new dryer!!!! I'm contacting ACCC about this and fair trading! No dryer should disintegrate like this!

Everything! Noisy, constant beeping when load finished, broken and no customer service!

Loud, Messy, it takes ages to Dry, it Broke and it's expensive to run – Do not buy this dryer. It's Loud. It has a very loud vibrating sound that resonates though out the unit. It's Messy. The lint leaks out of the lint trap and we are forever cleaning in the laundry. It takes ages to Dry. We have it on the 120min setting to dry most loads (sometimes longer). It Broke. It's expensive.

Our electricity bill went up over $100 each month we used it. We pay quarterly and didn't check the 1st quarter bill so the second bill was a big surprise. The original purchase price and its 6kg. It's loud, It's messy, It broke, It's expensive to run.

Not Great – Continuous beeping at the end of cycle means you cant set it to run during off peak (unless you want to get out of bed to turn it off!) - very annoying, it should have an option to disable the beep but doesn't! Also, the lint filter is not very effective. Large Capacity Beeping and ineffective lint filter

Great product – I've purchased this product a month back. I read all the reviews later and was very disappointed by this product before operating it. the lint with very less lint coming out and is very easy to clean after each cycle. This product is 2100 Watts (2.1KW), I checked the power consumption for this product as per VIC electricity prices Jul'12 and it came out to be $1.38 for using on normal mode for 2 Hrs and 30 mins. Inexpensive, doing exactly what it is supposed to. Highly recommended.

Worst Purchase Ever – Wouldn't matter how much these were i would never buy another. Too long to dry and running costs

Terrible – Basically hated it from the start. Our Hoover dryer which we had had for 10+ years finally gace up the ghost. I went to buy a F&P dryer but DJs were out of stock. last one - and offering to pay for it.

What do you do ? Answer yes of course.

Once home I set it up and immediately it sets a vibrating resonance throughout the house.

Notice a strange smell and think "it will pass" but no it has hung about ever since.

Also a rattling sound which finally I go so sick of that I took it off the wall, took the back off and found that the heating element is loose and rattles and even when I push it into it's retaining clips it lasts all of about 20 minutes before it pops out and starts rattling again.

My wife rang Simpson to be told that warranty only covers labour not parts or parts and not labour or something dodgy like that.

Within weeks of that call in some of the humid hot days we had in summer, it started cutting out.

It totally sucks. I hate the dryer and my wife knows it as I let her know at every opportunity.

Glad I didn't pay for it. It dries things eventually. It's noisy. It smells like salami. It overheats and cuts out all the time, in fact I've had it cut out in the cool down cycle, so not sure it's overheating even.

Affordable and lasted hard use – This dryer stood up to a couple of loads most days for quite a few years and for that reason I thought I'd look for the same again. But now I've read up on the performance of some other dryers not much more expensive than this ... I'm thinking of trying a different brand this time. Terrible – Worked for 6 months ,now dark brown oily powder forms both inside and outside of the dryer during drying and stains clothes. Lint trap is rubbish, lint seeps out the side and makes a large mess. Not Aust made any more don't be fooled. Service agent due tomorrow. Large capacity and that's about all Extremely slow drying , no reverse tumble , sheets and towels ball so the middle dosen't dry.

Slowest Dryer in history! – I saw this on sale and my MIL bought it as a birthday present, after the first load I knew I'd made a mistake. It beeps every so many minutes when it's (apparently) finished, and then tumbles every so often too, so I can't run it over night unless I want to be woken by the beeping and tumbling. It's also extremely slow, or faulty. I'm not sure… Read more

which yet. It took well over three hours to dry a load (that wasn't even very big). Last night I got desperate and threw in three singlets, 3 pairs of socks and 3 jocks into it thinking it wouldn't take too long to dry... it took three hours exactly AND the waist bands of the jocks were still slightly damp. What a joke! I could've hung them on the line in the rain and they would've dried quicker!

What everyone else is saying about the lint catcher is true too. Messy, noisy, SLOW waste of money.

I'm glad I didn't pay for it but now feel obligated to keep the stupid thing since I chose it. I'm going t borrow my mums trusty old Hoover I think! It's big.. Extremely slow, noisy, messy.

Terrible – Will NEVER buy from Whirlpool again. I have heard bad reviews about them in the past and this confirms it. Their Customer Service is awful! Capacity Size. There was a horrible smell that came from dryer and left clothes and room smelling. Customer Service for Whirlpool was a JOKE! Eventually got a replacement about 4 months later. Still not happy with the new replacement as still has a slight smell but nothing in comparison to first one.

Bad – not happy with the drying time of what I would consider a pretty moderate load. drying time was nearly 2 hours. I've since checked the drying times of competing brands and feel I would've been better off spending just a little more for some better features (like auto-sensing) 6kg capacity. simple to use. quite cheap limited options/settings. low star rating. long drying time.

Bad – I should have spent more and got something that dries better and doesn't leave a linty mess all over the drier after every use. Large capacity. Can hold a large blanket easily. Fairly quiet. Takes forever to dry anything. I always have to put it on 320 and 2x 320 to dry towels. The lint trap makes a horrible mess all over the place as the lint doesn't stay in the trap.
